Prospectus is delighted to be working with the Foundation to recruit a Funding Manager on a full-time (or 0.8) permanent basis to work on the A Fairer Future (AFF) programme as part of the team based in Kings Cross.

The role:

This key role will add substantial grant-making and strategic capacity to the AFF team, which currently consists of 7 people  reporting to the Director of A Fairer Future. The role will take on existing relationships in the form of a portfolio of organisations at various points in their funding journey. This person will pick up these relationships and ensure continuity as well as assessing new applications.  There will also be work contributing to strategic initiatives, helping to achieve impact in the thematic areas covered by the AFF strategy and roadmaps. Committed to social justice, the candidate will be ambitious to help create change using Esmée's full range of tools and approaches.

Convening collaborations, commissioning research and mobilising networks to create change will all be part of this role in addition to the more day to day management of organisation's funding journey, supporting them from application onwards to achieve the best possible impact. They will also be responsible for capturing learning from reporting, site visits and facilitating online discussions with organisations, as well as representing the Foundation at sector forums and events concentrating on the AFF priority areas.

The culture at the Foundation is collaborative and nurturing, so working closely with colleagues to share ideas and learn from each other will be essential in this role.

The person:

The successful candidate will have experience of working in one or more of the areas cover by the AFF priorities, perhaps gained through work in the voluntary or local authority sector.  We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in services to Children and Young People and/or racial justice, but are also interested to hear from those with experience more broadly across our AFF priority areas. This experience could have been gained from the delivering or commissioning programmes in these areas or indeed from a grant making perspective.

Highly organised, intellectually curious and pragmatic, this person will be able to unpick complex information and will be confident in assessing applicants' financial information. They will understand the charity funding world and importantly, the challenges faced by marginalised communities across the UK in the face of widespread inequity. The AFF team works with the Involving Young People's Collective, candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the value of co-production.

IT confident and systematic in their approach, this person will also be helpful and empathetic in addition to being an excellent communicator, both in person and in written work. Excellent attention to detail, thorough and collaborative in their approach to work, this person will be a real team player whilst being able to work under their own steam, working in a fast-paced environment.

An understanding and experience of systems change principles and an appreciation of the nuanced intersections between the various priorities of the AFF programme will be important to success in this role. We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. This is a community-based position working from home but covering the South East of England, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Essex.

Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is home based and the candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the region covered. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Enhanced DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

The Legal Administrator is a key component of the Asylum Aid team, overseeing all of our administrative systems and processes, and providing vital administrative support to our legal casework staff.

The Training Programme Coordinator supports the delivery of Asylum Aid’s two strategic partnerships that aim to help address the continuing fall in availability of immigration advice across England and Wales. The Compass Project and the Migrant Justice Greater London (MJGL) Partnership are designed to increase learning, collaboration and peer support opportunities between advice agencies and ultimately improve the provision of immigration advice to people seeking asylum, refugees, and other vulnerable people in the immigration system. This role provides key administrative support and coordination to ensure the effective delivery of both the Compass and MJGL training projects, working closely with Asylum Aid’s Immigration Supervisors and Director of Legal Casework, as well as external consultants, including the Learning Partner, managers and advisers at partner organisations.

Compass is Asylum Aid’s Advisor Development Programme of training, supervision and peer support for immigration advisers working in advice deserts across England and Wales. It is funded by the Justice Together Initiative. More information about the project can be found on our website here.

The Migrant Justice Greater London (MJGL) project is a partnership between Asylum Aid, Refugee Action and Praxis, designed to deliver legal training and supervision to frontline organisations across London. It is funded by the Greater London Authority.

Key responsibilities

Legal Administrator (approximately 4 days a week)

· To manage incoming and outgoing legal post in line with Asylum Aid’s procedures

· To post, email or arrange the dispatch of legal correspondence to clients, the Home Office, court or tribunal, counsel etc

· To receive and make telephone calls relating to casework activity, as well as covering the receptionist function in answering general incoming calls

· To manage the legal enquiries email inbox, triaging emails as appropriate

· To manage the team calendar and oversee key dates system

· To schedule and book appointments for clients, including the booking of interpreters or other experts where necessary

· To ensure all Legal Aid Agency monitoring information and other related information on cases such as disbursements and payment of invoices is recorded timely and accurately

· To assist with the preparation of electronic documents for the Home Office, court or tribunal

· To organise and maintain Asylum Aid’s legal archive, case filing system, legal library, and other documents

· To attend legal team meetings

· To assist Asylum Aid’s Billing Coordinator/caseworkers with preparation of files for billing where necessary

· To assist with general office administration, including administering petty cash

· To supervise the work of the Legal Administration Volunteer(s)

· To assist the Director in the administration of the Refugee Legal Group (RLG), which is a Google based group hosted by Asylum Aid

Training Programme Coordinator (approximately 1 day a week)

· To provide general administrative support for the Compass and MJGL programmes

· To monitor project timelines, plans, and budgets

· To organise in-person and remote training events, draft meeting agendas, take accurate minutes, coordinate travel for project participants, make and record project payments and provide logistical support for in-person events

· To assist in the promotion of the projects, including assisting with drafting external communications and social media, outreach to identify potential partner organisations, and supporting the recruitment of project participants

· To act as a central point of contact for multiple training projects, liaising with key stakeholders, including participant organisations, funders, the learning partner, and the clinical supervision provider

· To support the Learning Partner in monitoring and learning from the two projects, including facilitating learning opportunities with the partners and other organisations.

About you and the role

The purpose of this role is to manage operational delivery of our School by School Programme, ensuring efficient and effective delivery. 

You will be supported by our Chief Innovation Officer, and manage our Chef Trainers delivering our School by School interventions. You will work closely with the Director of Partnerships & Impact, our School Engagement Manager and our Research Supervisor. 

Your role will oversee our School by School interventions, delivered across multiple school sites. This role will be primarily focused in London, but will include supporting schools in locations across the UK as we develop new hubs. You will be joining a dynamic and growing charity who are passionate about delivering exceptional training, skill sharing, expertise and know-how to advance the quality of food preparation, food service and food education in schools.

You will have an understanding of the context that we operate in, education and food sectors. You will have strong people skills, and the ability to manage effective partnerships with external organisations.

The responsibilities:

• To work with the Chief Innovation Officer to ensure that all programme delivery of school interventions is delivered in line with our vision, values and ethos.

• To support and manage our Chef Trainers to ensure that programme delivery is carried out in the most effective and efficient way.

• Coordinate and oversee all programme activities, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.

• Managing the programme budget, identifying issues, and ensuring milestones are met. 

• Work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer, Director of Partnerships & Impact and the School Engagement Manager to assess, cost and propose suitable programmes of support for schools and multi-academy trusts interested in our School by School programme. 

• Working with the School Chef Educator and Membership teams on our regional expansion strategy, creating schools that are centres of excellence across the country.

• Working with the School Engagement Manager, attend and contribute to meetings with the Senior Leadership of prospective new schools and academies, developing proposals and financial forecasting.

• Liaise and manage relationships with the Senior Leadership in the schools and academies we work with, being the key contact for operational delivery of programmes. 

• To ensure that service level agreements are agreed with schools and that our delivery matches the agreements.

• To monitor costs of the programme delivery, reporting progress of programmes to the Chief Innovation Officer, identifying any risks or delays to programme delivery. 

• At all times to ensure that our school interventions are being delivered in a legally compliant, cost-effective way.

• Work closely with the Chef Trainers to ensure our advice to, and work in, schools is legally compliant.

• Support the Chef Trainers in monitoring legal safety compliance in schools, promptly flagging major concerns to the Chief Innovation Officer and where appropriate, the key school contact.

• Ensuring learning and evaluation is embedded in our programme delivery, working with the Chef Trainers to document best practice learnt from each programme. 

• To work alongside the Director of Partnerships & Impact and Research Supervisor to ensure that we’re collecting accurate and relevant data to measure our impact, evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the programmes, conducting regular assessments and measurements.

• Work with the Research Supervisor to support preparing reports on the impact of the School by School programmes, including statistical data, trends, and success stories. 

• Work with the School Engagement Manager to maintain accurate data records and ensure our contacts database is up to date with relevant chef, school lead and engagement information. 

• Collaborate with the Chef Trainers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of schools. 

Your skills and experience

You'll be the right person for this job if:

• You are passionate about food and believe in our mission to improve kids' health through improving food and food education in schools

• You enjoy problem-solving and working in a dynamic environment

• You have some experience in leading or managing a team within the food sector

• You have some experience working in a similar multi-site role 

• You have financial experience in the food sector - e.g. costing recipes, stocktaking, finding the best cost for ingredients. You’ll be comfortable with spreadsheets, monitoring financial costs, and producing financial forecasts

• You are organised, methodical, strong on detail, and able to map out deadlines and plan ahead

• You are able to engage effectively with senior leadership teams in educational settings, and are proactive and confident in addressing challenges

• You are an excellent writer and communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills 

• You are skilled in building rapport with people and strike a balance between being supportive and challenging

About the Role

As Individual Giving Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering an ambitious individual giving programme that brings in over £1.5 million annually. You will lead a supporter-centric strategy focused on acquisition, retention, and growth, harnessing digital tools, automation, and compelling storytelling to create engaging donor journeys. You will manage the development of regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals, lotteries, and raffles.

Tasks and Responsibilities

You will support the Director of Operations and the wider staff team by:

• Handling day-to-day administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, booking travel and venues, ordering supplies, and keeping systems and records up to date.

The Team

Part of the Philanthropy Team, comprised of individuals focused on major giving, prospect research and trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will work closely with the corporate partnerships team and community and events team.

Overall Purpose of the Role

The Prospect Research Manager will play an integral role in managing the growth and development of the prospect pipeline to enable the fundraising ambitions of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.  
 

This role will make a significant contribution towards increasing our income by ensuring that the best potential supporters are identified, researched and allocated in collaboration with the high value fundraising teams.  

This role works across all areas of the team’s remit to deliver strategic insight on our highest-level prospects, using data science techniques to evaluate performance, spot trends and opportunities, including due diligence research, build prospect pipelines for priority fundraising projects, and work directly with fundraisers to manage prospect portfolios.  
 

Our fundraising department has recently entered a period of ambitious growth and will shortly be launching a significant capital campaign for our children’s hospital. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and strategic prospect research and intelligence which meets the needs of our fundraising team.  
• Conduct fundraising market research, from larger prospect finding projects to prospect ratings work, donor profiles, networks research, competitor analysis and occasional work on cultivation event briefings.  
• Work closely with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to ensure the team’s workplan is updated regularly and work assigned is carried out to deadline, sharing any capacity issues or challenges where they arise. 
• Carry out due diligence research on prospective donors, producing thorough and objective reports which support fundraising decisions and ensure adherence to our gift acceptance procedures and are agreed with the legal team  
• Identify networks of clinicians and stakeholders to assess the opportunities for reaching new potential donors.  
• Work with the Senior Prospect Development Manager to undertake work arising from portfolio reviews to clean fundraising portfolios.  
• Build strong cross-team working relationships, meeting with fundraisers on a regular basis to discuss needs, manage expectations and gain feedback.  
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the Raiser’s Edge database which will include regular data mining activity, building complex queries and exports, and the creation of constituent records.  
• Advocate best practice in the recording and processing of prospect data on Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data is accurate, relevant and processed as per the team’s Data Protection Policy and in line with The Data Protection Act 2018/ the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018. This will include working with the data team to identify data challenges and appropriate solutions for improving prospect data quality and cleanliness.  
• Work with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to develop annual plans which best support Fundraisings priorities.  
• Network regularly with sector peers to share best practice and generate insight on the latest developments in prospect research.  
• Alongside the Senior Prospect Research Manager, oversee prospect identification for priority fundraising projects and support team members in developing projects for prospecting.  
• Proactively engage with market intelligence which supports the identification of prospects and philanthropic trends, and highlights opportunities for future fundraising growth. This would include regular assessment of insight on transformational donations made worldwide, high net worth individuals and philanthropic trends. 

Working Environment:

The post holder should expect to: 
 

• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.

• Line manages one Prospect Research Manager, as part of leadership of the Prospect Research Function, ensuring collective objectives are met 
• Lead on the prospect research and development strategy for a significant capital campaign, which will involve increasing the volume and capacity of our pipeline. This role will drive forward this campaign prospecting strategy, alongside high value fundraisers, the Head of Philanthropy and the Director of Fundraising. Prospecting approaches will include desk research, network mapping of Trustees and other senior stakeholders, and engaging Campaign Board connections.  
• Work alongside our Legal team to implement and oversee our Due Diligence policies and processes.  
• Oversee the regular data mining of Raiser’s Edge to identify opportunities from amongst our warmest constituents.  
• Work closely with fundraising leads to develop the prospect pipeline, in particular building our networks of advocates and influencers. This will include attending meetings with clinicians and other key stakeholders. Qualify and allocate prospects identified by the team.  
• Proactively engage with market intelligence which supports the identification of prospects and philanthropic trends, and highlights opportunities for future fundraising growth. This would include regular assessment of insight on transformational donations made worldwide, high net worth individuals and philanthropic trends.  
• Undertake strategy research which supports decision making relating to fundraising. This may include competitor analysis and feasibility work.
• Advocate best practice in the recording and processing of prospect data on Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data is accurate, relevant and processed as per the team’s Data Protection Policy and in line with The Data Protection Act 1998/ the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This will include working with the data team to identify data challenges and appropriate solutions for improving prospect data quality and cleanliness.  
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to shape annual plans which best support Fundraisings priorities.  
• Provide the highest quality research activity which adds the most value to fundraising. This might include identifying training needs and formulating training sessions for the team.  
• Regularly network with sector peers to share best practice and generate insight on the latest developments in prospect research.  
• Using data analytics techniques, implement processes and procedures which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of prospect research and prospect identification activity. 
• Support the Director of Fundraising and Head of Philanthropy in embedding a performance culture – including tracking identification, prospect movement, conversion rates and cleansing the pipeline on an ongoing basis.  
• Take a lead role in using data visualisation techniques to bring new insight to major gifts and prospect pipeline data which informs fundraising strategy. 

Experience 

• Highly experienced Prospect Research professional, ideally having led delivery of prospect research strategies  
• Experience of driving high value pipeline growth, contributing to increased income generation  
• Experience of prospect/ data analytics.  
• Experience of effective internet and electronic research with the ability to analyse and objectively assess the relevance of information to fundraising activity  
• Experience of line management

• An interest in and understanding of health fundraising.  
• Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to independently meet multiple and competing deadlines. 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to distil complex information clearly for a range of audiences.

• Capability to influence and build rapport to achieve desired outcomes.  
• Proactive approach and demonstrated use of initiative to identify new opportunities and research viability to achieve comprehensive, qualified donor pipelines.  
• Understanding of relevant data protection policy (EU GDPR 2018 and UK Data Protection Act 2018)

As a Welfare Services Navigator, you will be on the front line of the organisation, providing essential support to beneficiaries through our helpline, email, and web chat services. You will advise members of the RAF family on the financial assistance and support services available through the RAF Benevolent Fund, guiding them on how to access these resources when needed.

The successful candidate will be proactive, with experience of working with people in a supportive capacity. They must be able to engage sensitively and professionally with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. A solid level of administrative experience is essential, ideally gained within a welfare or support-focused environment, along with confidence in using CRM IT systems.

The role will be office based at our London HQ, with a minimum of three days working in the office per week. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Basic DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.
