What to expect 

Year one: 

• Begin study for your postgraduate diploma in social work

• Learn alongside children and families within a local authority social work team, supported by experienced tutors and practice educators 

• Receive a tax-free bursary of £18,000 or £20,000 (depending on location) to help with living and travel costs 

Year two and three:

• Move into a paid role as a newly qualified children’s social worker (up to £34,000, or more in some London boroughs) 

• Keep working towards your social work master’s degree 

• Join the Frontline Fellowship, a national community offering career-long support and development 

The role:

As a children’s social worker, you’ll learn how to build relationships, make difficult decisions and advocate for children’s safety and wellbeing. That means:

Job description

Safe to Learn is a newly established network of teachers, parents, researchers, policymakers, young people and child safeguarding practitioners, working together to end antisemitism in UK schools. We co-produce evidence-based child safeguarding resources, tools and standards to address antisemitism and improve the school environment for all children, educators and support staff.

Safe to Learn is seeking a graphic designer to build on the work in progress by providing engaging print and web design in line with our brand guidelines for all assets, including printed and digital resources, such as emails, leaflets, web banners, landing pages and advertising banners for the website and online marketing and dissemination campaigns. 

Responsibilities

1. Work collaboratively with the KCS Communications team to ensure all designed elements and communications have a consistent look and feel in line with existing style guides.

2. Work collaboratively with external partners and agencies.

3. Ensure all designed digital-based or printed communications are consistent with the brand guidelines.

4. Receive briefs from members of the KCS team and agree achievable deadlines.

5. Manage workload and prioritise briefs in line with agreed deadlines advising of any potential slippage.

6. Ensure designs meet the brief prior to handover for sign off.

7. Progress to final design following amends and final sign-off in agreed format (s) or implementation online where appropriate.

8. Provide support and cover for other design colleagues.

9. Keep up to date with new technology, software and systems.

10. Anything else that might be reasonably required.

Person Specification

Candidates with the following experience and commitment are encouraged to apply:

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SaLT who is passionate about transforming children’s life chances and is keen to lead and grow a Speech and Language Therapy service in the field of Social Emotional Mental Health needs.

The children we typically support are those with mild to moderate social communication needs. These are the children that don’t meet the criteria for community paediatric and CAMHS services and are often at significant risk of developing mental health and behavioural difficulties later on in life. We also offer EHCP work for more complex cases. 

In this role you will be working operationally and strategically. Key Responsibilities

When a school registers for one of the Trust’s programmes, the Schools Coordinator manages the logistics and organisation of each school’s engagement, working closely with the schools and link teachers to ensure the smooth delivery of our programme. This includes:

• Coordinate booking dates/times – working with schools to ensure we fulfil their application to join one of our programmes.
• Handle enquiries and maintain accurate booking records.
• Staff allocation – Secure a freelance educator to deliver content.
• Direct communication – building relationships with schools, teachers, and school staff, ensuring a smooth user experience for our clients. This includes, but is not limited to, answering queries from teachers / staff as received, linking schools with respective freelance educators as necessary, sharing all relevant updates and information ensuring teachers/staff are fully informed about the delivery plans.
• Courier booking – to ensure all hardware is onsite for respective delivery.

We are looking for a motivated educator who is available to assist the team with delivering sessions in secondary schools. The candidate will have an understanding of anti-Muslim hatred and discrimination and how this affects young people in the UK today. This is a pilot programme delivering in schools across Bradford, London, Birmingham and Blackburn. We are recruiting facilitators from each city. 

This exciting role offers great flexibility. You won't have set working hours, but we are looking for someone who is passionate about our project and will be available to deliver sessions between April – July 2026. Following the pilot, there is a potential the work will resume again from October. We are looking for people who are eager to learn. Once you join the team, you will be given in-depth paid training on how to deliver the content.
