About the role  

We’re Scripture Union (SU), we’re one of the UK’s longest-established children and youth ministry organisations, and we’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for helping children and young people in our vibrant capital to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus.

The role can be full time or a part time job share and offers flexibility for anyone with childcare/caring responsibilities, candidates in existing part time employment or study. We also offer home based working for even greater flexibility and balance with the responsibilities of family life.

You’ll be working in and around your local and other nearby boroughs. You will already have strong existing connection in  West London (Ealing, Hillingdon, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow and Hounslow) or North & North West London (Brent, Enfield, Harringay, Hackney, Islington, Camden, Westminster & City).

About Scripture Union  

You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. In the last couple of years, we’ve trained up nearly 600 faith guides across 400+ churches all over the UK, collectively we’re seeing over 50,000 young people across the UK on a journey of exploring the christen faith and responding to an invitation to become followers of Jesus. We have 24 staff organised into four regional teams, and alongside our local and national partners, we’re playing our part in a network of organisations that seeks to reach children and young people in every context, across every town and city across the England and Wales. About your team 

You’ll be joining our brilliant South Region team, which covers our largest region from Kent to Cornwall, offering numerous opportunities to contribute your expertise in a variety of contexts, from urban and suburban to coastal and rural settings. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides, we’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years. 

In the south region we have the highest density of Christian holidays and festivals, with events that we organise and run directly and a variety of festival and missions that we support and partner with. You’ll have a fantastic opportunity each summer to get hands on engaged in these mission and festivals throughout the year. 

Our South Region also includes our vibrant capital, one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse cities in the world, with over 300 languages spoken. With many like-minded missional organisations having a footprint in and around the capital, and all of the Christian movements and denominations represented here, London holds key strategic value and will be the focus of your ministry activities. You’ll be joining an exceptional and growing team of five staff. We are particularly interested in how sports, arts, and culture can be explored to further enable the mission both in London and across SU and would be particularly interested in candidates with expertise in either of these areas.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Emerging Gen Lead, you will drive World Vision UK’s mission to inspire and mobilise the next generation of Christians towards justice, generosity, and global mission. Reporting to the Director of Ministry Development, you will lead our engagement with youth, student, and young adult audiences (ages 13–25), creating bold, innovative pathways for them to connect their faith with action for the world’s most vulnerable children.

Role Mission.

I am here to lead Scotty’s outreach to bereaved military families — helping more people find, trust, and access our support by creating a visible, welcoming, and engaged community.

I am accountable for:

• Developing and delivering Scotty’s Outreach strategy, aligned with the charity’s long-term vision and growth targets.
• Leading the development of a new in-house team, ensuring strong performance, alignment, and support across all outreach activities.
• Achieving our beneficiary reach and engagement targets, including community growth, email sign-ups & engagement, social reach, and event/webinar attendance.
• Ensuring all outreach activity is sensitive, on-brand, and audience-focused, particularly in the context of bereavement and the military community.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

• Shape and deliver the Outreach strategy to engage bereaved military families across the UK, helping us to a) reach more bereaved families, and b) maintain regular engagement with those families.
• Lead and support the development of the Outreach squad as it grows.
• Plan and oversee delivery of digital and offline outreach activity, including social media, email marketing, website content, printed publications, and event promotion.
• Initially take responsibility for the delivery of outreach activity (except social media) until the squad grows.
• Ensure strong audience insight, segmentation, and tone of voice in all comms.
• Set and report on performance metrics to the CEO, SLT, and Trustees.

The 3-month goals for this role are:

• Build a deep understanding of Scotty’s mission, our audience, the services we provide, and strategic direction.
• Finalise the Outreach strategy with the CEO, including key audience segments, platform focus, and performance metrics.
• Begin recruitment of the Outreach Squad (Social Media Exec to start, subject to funding confirmation).
• Produce and maintain a 90-day content and campaign plan, working closely with other teams.

The 6-month goals for this role are:

• Support the recruitment and onboarding of the Social Media Exec (TBC).

Head of Programmes is a key role with significant scope to grow as the charity evolves. You’ll lead on the day-to-day delivery of our programmes, including our largest single programme, Maths Circles: a small-group-based maths enrichment programme engaging talented young mathematicians nationwide. You will take ownership of programme reporting and KPIs, using insights to identify and implement delivery improvements and demonstrate impact.

You will communicate regularly with our diverse community – including speaking directly to young people and parents to resolve issues, recruiting and training education professionals and meeting with partners to organise and manage projects. Beyond programme delivery, you’ll play a crucial part in fundraising, communications, recruitment and planning and will occasionally deputise for the Foundation Director in representing the charity externally.

Supporting the event owner in the successful planning and execution of all events across the charity, including the Families, Supporter and Operations Teams at Scotty's. • Adhere to budget constraints set by the Event Owner, ensuring all expenses are accounted for and within limits.
• Provide appropriate updates to the Event Owner and team members accordingly.

Camp Jojo is currently in transition. Over the first 8 years it has worked from one established site in Mersea, Essex; but we are now opening a second site near Appleby in Cumbria. The role of Program Manager will work across the whole organisation, towards the successful development of the values and the proven model in a second site; and its partnership with the Essex site will be an important part of the role.

Camp Jojo is growing from a young, largely trustee led, organisation to a staff team led organisation. Again this role will be a fundamental part of that transition. This is a predominantly an operational post, and not responsible for the finances of organisation, though it will deliver operations within the board approved budget. They will also sit on, or chair, several of the Committees of the charity; including the Senior Operations Team.

The role will offer leadership to key functions of Camp Jojo, Camp Jojo staff and contractors, and to members of the Camp Jojo Board, in relation to the work of the charity. Whilst the majority of the work will be remote the incumbent will be required to attend some meetings and events in person, including at both sites. They will also be required to attend at least part of the actual camp events. They may need to work flexibly, according to the seasonal demands of the charity.

The Program Manager will have a varied and sometimes high-pace job environment. As such, they will need to handle multiple tasks, manage their own time well, interact professionally with the Camp Jojo community and be very good communicators. They will deal with model consistency, values, and operational issues across both sites. 

We are recruiting for a Philanthropy Manager to manage a portfolio of dedicated major donors who contribute significant funding to the charity, developing and implementing inspiring supporter journeys that encourage repeated/ increased support. About You
