We are looking for a Grants Management Lead who will manage part of ClientEarth’s existing grants portfolio and provide strategic direction within the team and across departments to ensure successful grant management delivery and fundraising.
Meet your Manager
In this role, you will be managed by Jamil De Dominicis. Jamil joined ClientEarth in 2019 and is based in London. As Global Head of Grants, he leads the Grants Management team and oversees ClientEarth’s grants income from trusts, foundations and other statutory and institutional funders. Prior to joining ClientEarth, Jamil worked in various policy, research and grant management roles at the international affairs think tank Chatham House and the National Foundation for Youth Music.
Main Duties
- Manage existing relationships with major foundations and other institutional funders to ensure that funders are aware of project performance and receive regular updates in compliance with grants agreements
- Oversee relationships with senior stakeholders from current and new donors; act as a key facilitator and steward of relationships between funder staff and key programme contacts
- Support on developing and executing the Grants Team Annual Plans and strategy
- Oversee the development and production of well researched and comprehensive proposals and reports to existing donors that meet funding priorities and requirements within the submission deadline, in coordination with programme staff
- Line manage their team effectively by ensuring the Managers and Officers have support and are empowered to lead on their funding portfolios

Role requirements
- Significant grant management and contract oversight experience with complex funders (essential).
- Significant experience in budget and financial management for large portfolios of funders (essential)
- Good knowledge of foundation, institutional, and statutory income streams and financial processes (essential)
- Experience of working in a not-for-profit organisation, grant making trust or legal environment (essential)
- Experience in line/team management (essential);
- Ability to represent ClientEarth externally to high value funders and other senior stakeholders

Are you an experienced humanitarian leader who has a passion for strengthening emergency preparedness and response through capacity building initiatives?
UK-Med is an NGO providing emergency health support in times of crisis and humanitarian emergencies. We provide clinical support, as well as training and capacity building for health professionals around the world, with particular focus on countries vulnerable to natural disasters, outbreaks or with weakened health systems due to complex emergencies. As the principal partner of the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT), we work closely with FCDO and the WHO, but we are also growing our own programmes. Our work has never been more vital, with disease outbreaks and disasters becoming more frequent, complex and severe.
Following a period of considerable growth in size and complexity of UK-Med’s capacity building portfolio we are seeking an experienced humanitarian leader to join our team in this pivotal role. Our portfolio continues to grow at pace with current priorities and projects covering training and preparation of emergency response staff, developing and consolidating our simulation exercise capability, piloting remote capacity building and TeleHealth, partnering with peer Emergency Medical Teams for capacity building and supporting university programmes.
The Deputy Director of Capacity Building will work with key internal and external stakeholders on successfully delivering UK-Med’s capacity building portfolio, develop and implement effective systems and procedures for training delivery and monitoring, and lead a team of talented training and capacity building professionals from various backgrounds. The role will involve travel for training delivery in the UK and internationally as well as occasionally deploying to humanitarian responses and existing country programmes.
The successful candidate will be an experienced humanitarian leader with a wealth of experience in emergency response, ideally in health programming. You will be passionate and experienced in contributing your own humanitarian expertise and experience to capacity building development and delivery from programme design to activity levels. You will have a strong track record of building and implementing systems and procedures for delivery and monitoring of complex programme portfolios, preferably within humanitarian capacity building.

As Research Associate you will work in the Corporate Performance Research workstream, which is home to our programmeʼs work on creating and developing methodologies, datasets, and guidance across our projects.
You will be responsible for Forest IQ at a methodological and planning level, enabling the delivery of the platform’s annual plans and releases. Forest IQ brings together aligned, best-in-class, and actionable data on how more than 2,400 major companies are addressing their links to deforestation and associated human rights abuses.
In particular, your work will focus on creating methodologies to enable the ingestion and alignment of a number of datasets, and overseeing the integration of these datasets for the bi-annual data releases.
This is a great role for an experienced research and data lead in the forestry and human rights space, who is also passionate about continuous improvement and following best practice. You will be able to work effectively in the context of a fast-growing and dynamic non-profit delivering on complex and impactful projects around the world.
You will be joining a team of researchers and will have visibility of other research projects too, including how they complement each other and interact, with opportunities to work collaboratively and to share learnings across research.

- Familiarity with the Accountability Framework Initiative
- Previous experience in applied sustainability research, ideally with focus on corporate performance on deforestation or human rights
- Experience in working on related issues such as corporate social responsibility, and finance
- Previous experience of aligning and synthesising multiple sources of complex information
- Experience of working in multicultural and multilingual teams
- Prior line management experience
- Knowledge of R-scripts, statistical testing/data analysis software would be an advantage
