This role will provide in-depth debt advice casework and wrap around support for vulnerable local people.
You will have:
- Recent and ongoing paid or voluntary experience of managing your own caseload of money advice and income maximisation cases.
- Ability to write detailed up to date case notes, letters and reports as required in plain English.
- Ability to manage a challenging caseload, meet targets and prioritise work in the face of competing demands on your time.
- Ability to respond sensitively to clients from a variety of backgrounds who are under pressure and negotiate with third parties in order to minimise conflict.

Purpose of the job:
As a Debt Advice Caseworker, you will provide high quality advice and casework services to our clients who call through to our national help desk. The role is fully telephone based, at our office in Stoke on Trent. The telephone lines are open from 9am-8pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday 9.30am-1pm. The role includes a variety of shift patterns in line with the requirements of the contract.
You will predominantly be advising clients on their debt issues over the phone, helping them to find solutions to their issues. No call is the same, and each client is given tailored advice dependent on their circumstances. The role is demanding, but full training will be provided, and you will be, working as a part of an approachable and supportive team in a rewarding environment, allowing you to provide the best possible service to our clients.

Main Purpose of Job
· To be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of our advice services via telephone, email/web, in person and at outreach venues.

About us
Citizens Advice Liverpool in partnership with Citizens Advice St Helens and Citizens Advice Warrington are delivering a Welfare Benefits, Debt and Budgeting Advisory Service to Torus Housing tenants.
The Project Supervisor is responsible for supervising and overseeing the delivery of a Welfare Benefits Advisory Service. The supervisor will provide guidance, support, and leadership to a team of Welfare Benefits Caseworkers, ensuring the provision of high-quality welfare benefits advice to individuals and families in need. The role requires strong supervisory, communication, and organisational skills to effectively support the management of the project, monitor caseworkers' performance and adviser consultancy. The project supervisor will also be required to take on some casework for clients who require specialist advice regarding the review/appeals process, prepare clients for appeals tribunals and to represent at hearings where appropriate.
Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) is the leading provider of generalist advice services in Hammersmith and Fulham. We help approximately 18000 people each year with free, confidential, and impartial advice on a wide range of issues.
Our Assessors are the first point of contact for anyone in the community that contacts us by phone or in person. The Assessor establishes what the issue is, ensures that all relevant information is collected, provides information and advice, and identifies the best next steps, ensuring clients are directed to the appropriate Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) advice project, or external agency.

Requirements
1. To be appointed as an Energy Debt Specialist, you will need to have knowledge and experience of complex debt casework, covering priority and non-priority debt advice, options, and insolvency solutions.
You will also need to have the Institute of Money Advisers Certificate in Money Advice Practice or MaPS Caseworker accreditation equivalent. NEA Level 3 City and Guilds Level Energy Awareness would be desirable too.
● OR for a trainee - at least 6 months’ experience of delivering excellent customer service in a regulated environment such as banking, insurance, or a contact centre.

About us
The Energy Debt Specialist will provide a high-quality inbound telephone debt advice service to clients as part of our brand new Consumer Energy Debt Advice project. This project is for clients who have energy debt (amongst others) and is intended to reduce the impact of personal debt by providing them with debt solutions.

About the role
The Debt Advice Caseworker will provide an in person high-quality advice and casework service to the organisation’s clients in debt and money management service.
The Debt Advice Caseworker will provide mentoring and support to their co-workers, which will help develop their skills and expertise in debt and money management service, ensuring they deliver our clients with the best possible service.
A demanding role, whereby the Debt Advice Caseworker will have the ability to understand and deal with complex information. Working collaboratively with their team, management, external organisation’s, and Head of Service.
Flexibility is a key characteristic of all our posts and the post-holder may be asked to carry out other tasks consistent with the grade from time to time.

Citizens Advice Milton Keynes is a local charity that helps people to resolve their legal, money and personal problems. We have been providing free, confidential, and impartial advice since 1972 and helped over 8000 local people last year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and confident person to join our Team. The ideal candidate will provide face to face advice and support to local people, including those living in the community who could be considered ‘vulnerable adults’. The Outreach Caseworker will assist clients with complex welfare, debt and housing enquiries, covering issues across each subject. This requires a good foundation knowledge of each advice area, so competence in these subjects is essential.
This is a challenging role, managing a demanding caseload, working to strict quality standards and ensuring that all work is compliant with our contract funders.
Applicants need to be –
- Computer-literate, although training on our case recording systems will be given.
- Confident in working to performance targets.
- Able to show good communications skills, both written and verbal. These are essential in the role, as are excellent customer service skills with a non-judgemental approach.
- Prepared to work independently and from a variety of community-based locations.
A minimum of 12 months’ experience in an advice agency or similar setting is desirable.
The successful Applicant/s will be asked to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
