Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all enquiries, bookings, and events in The Basement, acting as the main point of contact for clients and ensuring a smooth experience from start to finish.

• Promote and maximise use of the space by responding to enquiries promptly, maintaining efficient booking systems, and building relationships with external partners.

• Oversee event delivery, especially children’s activities (e.g. parties, screenings, games), and ensure the space is safe, clean, and ready before and after each event.

• Manage operational logistics including safeguarding, scheduling, risk assessments, and staff support.

• Support charity-wide events and collaborate with Florrie teams to promote use of The Basement across programmes.

• Contribute ideas to improve the customer experience and enhance The Basement’s role as a valued community venue.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience coordinating youth or community programmes and managing public-facing spaces.

• Strong background in event planning, including working with partners and overseeing venue hires.

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with confidence handling schedules, bookings, and budgets.

• Sound knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and professional conduct in youth/community settings.

• Effective communicator with the ability to engage children, families, and external partners.

• Flexible and dependable, with availability to work evenings and school holidays.

• Full D1 UK Driving Licence required (no personal vehicle needed).

Role description

As our philanthropy coordinator, you will play a key role in building new partnerships with philanthropists and high-net-worth individuals, with an immediate focus on the UK, US, and Europe. You will design and implement a comprehensive strategy to build a robust portfolio of individual donors, Family Foundations, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and other personal giving vehicles. 

A proactive and thoughtful relationship builder, you will maintain long-term relationships and lead bold strategies to engage new audiences, including millennial and next-generation philanthropists. You will steward Open Briefing’s first global development board, working closely with our CEO and director of development to engage members around a dynamic programme of activities designed to make Open Briefing more fundable and findable. 

Together with our director of development, you will drive forward a multi-year fundraising strategy to resource our work with activists and organisations on the frontlines of human rights, social justice, and environmental action. 

Your primary responsibilities will include: 

• Designing and executing our philanthropy fundraising strategy. Lead a strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) —including through Donor Advised Funds, Family Offices, Family Foundations, and other giving vehicles—with an immediate focus on the US, UK and Europe. 

• Prospecting and donor acquisition. Manage HNWI prospecting, generate new leads, develop solicitation plans, brief senior leadership in advance of meetings, and coordinate cultivation and networking opportunities.

• Stewardship and relationship management. Build strong relationships with existing and potential donors through tailored stewardship plans designed to grow income over time. Manage donor tracking and communication systems. 

• Nurture and grow our development board - Work alongside our director of development and CEO to identify and engage members and steward the Board through a 12-month action-orientated development campaign. 

• Budget Management. Manage a programme budget for cultivation and stewardship events and activities.

• Collaboration and Communication. Work closely with our communications coordinator, director of development and programme teams in the production and dissemination of donor-relevant reports, updates and other content; and contribute to the conception and organisation of donor-facing online and in-person events.

• Team support. As a key member of our development and communications team, undertaken other duties as reasonably requested relevant to team and organisational goals. 

Person specification 

Essential 

• You will have extensive experience managing a HNWI or major gift portfolio. 

• You will have a proven track-record of personally securing four, five, or six-figure donations from HNWI and/or major gift donors in the UK, US and/or Europe. 

• You will have experience working within a nonprofit focused on human rights, social justice, and/or environmental action. 

• You will have excellent verbal communication skills, including English language skills, both spoken and written. 

• You will have experience working with senior stakeholders and board members to support fundraising activities. 

• You will have an ability to work both strategically and operationally.

• You will have creative thinking and problem-solving aptitude.

Desirable

• You may have experience working within a global nonprofit. 

• You may have knowledge of the human rights, social justice, environmental justice, and/or international development funding landscape. 

• You may understand grant-making and grant-management processes, especially with respect to private philanthropic funding, including family foundations, DAFs, and Family Offices. 

• You may understand tax-efficient donation mechanisms in the UK, US, and across Europe.

Terms and remuneration

This is a remote, home-working role. You will be contracted for 40 hours a week on a full-time, fixed-term contract. Flexible working is available and encouraged.

The Purpose of the Role

 The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. ER’s goal is to mobilize external audiences to raise funding to meet core organization needs deliver programs that support our clients to recover and gain control of their lives; influence policy changes to improve outcomes for our clients; and build and grow our global brand.

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a vital role in supporting ER to advance our ambitious global strategy. The FP&A team (1) is a strategic finance partner to leadership and ER teams (2) leads revenue modelling and budget development (3) provide insights and analysis to support decision making on funding decisions and critical initiatives. Our service comprises six flats supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, including those with additional needs such as challenging behaviours, mental health needs, and complex needs.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will support individuals in activities they enjoy, such as discos, swimming, and cinema outings. You will also have the opportunity to act as a Key Worker, helping people achieve their dreams and ambitions.

In this role, you will ensure high-quality, individualised, person-centred support for all service users. Additionally, you will provide mentorship, support and guidance to the staff team, developing warm, trusting relationships with clients and encouraging them to express their needs, views, and concerns. You will support the management of service delivery to meet client needs, working flexibly, including evenings, weekends, waking nights, and sleep-ins.

A minimum of two years’ experience in providing care and support to people with learning disabilities and other needs is essential for this role. A passion for providing excellent managerial support to our friendly staff team in Winwick, Warrington, is also key.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join a Stroke Recovery Service based in East Kent.

Position: S11278 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home based, Thanet, East Kent, however, regular travel will be required as part of this role within the service area (may include other travel in London and nationally to include team meetings or other work-related meetings). 

Salary: circa £16,461 per annum

Hours: 21 hours per week

Contract: Permanent. Services are contracted and there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2026.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
• Provide personalised information, advice and support.
• Support clients to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes
• Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting, training and managing volunteers would be an advantage.

• Excellent IT skills and demonstrate a flexible approach to your role.
• A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.
• Setting up and running virtual groups.

This role is home based, but extensive travel is required across the local area and occasionally further afield. The use of a car with business use cover and the ability to drive is essential to be able to fulfil the requirements of the role.

About the role

Join Dementia UK as Head of Governance, Compliance and Risk, where you will help the charity and its workforce comply with all necessary regulations and manage risks to the organisation, its employees, clients, reputation, assets and the interests of stakeholders.

As part of the governance team, you will work with senior managers across the organisation as a trusted advisor, providing day-to-day coordination and oversight of all governance bodies, meetings and working groups. You will also support the efficient flow of information to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, enabling them to update the Trustee Board effectively.

You will play a major role in making sure that the policies set by the charity are strictly followed by the entire workforce. This diverse workforce includes volunteers, employees, sessional workers and consultants. You will be responsible for maintaining messaging and behaviour that reflect the necessary rules and regulations, providing assurance that the charity complies with both external requirements and internal policies.

Additionally, you will oversee the operational requirements relating to insurance and develop effective plans to manage crises (including business continuity plans) or respond to compliance breaches.

The ideal candidate will hold a university degree in a business-related discipline, complemented by a relevant postgraduate qualification and professional certification (such as IRM Qualification, IA Cert, CIA, or Chartered Internal Auditor). You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of risk and regulatory frameworks, supported by extensive senior leadership experience in compliance and risk management within a public sector or not-for-profit environment. The work will involve processing sales orders and invoices, customer receipts and credit control. About the Role

As Emotional and Mental Wellbeing (EMW) Practitioner, you will offer specialist interventions to staff and volunteers seeking emotional and mental health support and will provide advice to a team of volunteer Mental Health First Aiders.
