About this role

This role is 20 hours per week, worked part-time over 5 days Monday-Friday. Suggested working times are 10am-2pm however this can be flexible for the right candidate. The part-time salary for this role is £16,250 (£26,000 FTE for organisation 32 hours working week).

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a range of office management and administrative duties to support Causeway’s housing and support functions. The Role

Join a co-operative providing British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters and developing tech to support to users. The co-operative is co-run and co-owned by its members, who are Deaf people and BSL interpreters. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and Operations Team Leader to provide a high quality and efficient service, helping the business to achieve agreed targets whilst working to the co-operative’s ethos. 

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the provision of communication professionals for Deaf/Hard of Hearing people across for medical (including mental health) appointments and for other work in a variety of sectors (education, child protection, conference, employment, legal settings etc)
• Accepting and making calls
• Dealing with bookings and general enquiries in a fast-paced environment
• Supporting marketing and business development and communicating to members and external stakeholders
• Supporting other staff where necessary

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Domestic Abuse Trainer and Assessor on a part time, fixed term contract until May 2026. 

Refuge has recently been granted funding from the Ministry of Justice to develop training for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs). This role has been created as a fixed term post to support that project. This is a strategic project and the overall aim of the MoJ is to increase access to training for IDVA professionals.

As the Domestic Abuse Trainer, the post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a high quality, accredited training programme, including workshops, assessments, and digital resources for professionals in the domestic abuse sector.

This role will work in partnership with our Service Delivery subject matter experts and our People & Organisational Development team to develop and deliver domestic abuse training for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates and other front-line specialists. You will also be leading on assessments for delegates attending the training which should demonstrate competence through on the job training.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in training delivery or education in the domestic abuse sector. They should also have an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and the barriers many women face in seeking support.

You will be joining a large team of Money Advisers providing specialist level debt and benefit advice and casework. 

You will have lots of variety, providing telephone specialist debt and benefit advice and casework across a range of projects.  If you are available to work in our Brighton and Hove office you will also deliver face-to-face advice both in the office and other outreach locations including Foodbanks and with inpatients.

We are recruiting a Wellbeing Counsellor and an Autism and Learning Disabilities Specialist for the Brighton and Hove Community Wellbeing Service for children and young people (CYP).

Our service, led by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with YMCA DownsLink, supports 2–25 year olds with mild-to-moderate mental health needs. Since 2020, we’ve provided community-based, evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), counselling, low-intensity interventions, group treatments, creative therapies, and social prescribing — all tailored to individual needs and age.

In this role, you will provide counselling that is adapted to ensure accessibility for autistic children and young people, as well as those with learning disabilities. This support will be offered to clients aged 4 to 25 who have a formal diagnosis.

Experience and Knowledge

Qualifications

We are recruiting a qualified counsellor, who has experience working with children and young people with autism and learning difficulties, delivering face to face counselling and carrying out assessments with young people to include working with high risk and complex issues. You will have a graduate or post-graduate level Counselling Diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of two years post-qualifying experience, CYP IAPT Autism Spectrum Conditions and Learning Disabilities, or CYP Psychological Therapies for autism and learning disabilities (renamed in 2025). You will also need to be BACP Registered/Accredited or registered with another recognised professional body (e.g. HPC, UKCP). 

The successful applicant will have experience of managing risk, with effective communication around safeguarding procedures. About the role

This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT people who have experienced sexual abuse or violence. Your work will enable TNBI people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of sexual abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.

You will be joining our advocacy and support team, supporting TNBI survivors across the UK. You will work directly with TNBI victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related to experiences of sexual abuse or violence, including issues such as attending a sexual assault referral centre (SARC), support with the criminal and civil justice process, providing support at court during trial, safety, and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.

You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of TNBI survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. You will also work closely with key partner organisations by attending meetings and have the opportunity to take part in external work to ensure a joined-up approach among services working with LGBT people facing abuse and violence.

We are seeking a qualified Specialist ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to join our Advocacy team at Respond. The role includes providing pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people with complex or multiple needs who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging, (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. The ISVA will work across London to provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support, working in partnership with other London sexual violence support services. 

Our ideal candidate will have experience in the ISVA role as well as a friendly and relational approach to working with clients.  You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity. You will be a self-motivated individual who will engage with a wider range of people who have experience sexual violence, and other barriers to justice.

Respond started in 1991 and has grown from a small London based charity to a medium sized national charity in recent years.  Our mission is to reduce the impact of trauma in the lives of people with learning disabilities and autistic people, by developing trusting relationships, through psychotherapeutically informed services.

• Hybrid working model, which means that if you’re full time you make a commitment to be working in the office at least two days a week, with the remainder working from home.  Part time hours are altered accordingly.

You will primarily support all areas of the Hospice. You will be able to quickly establish credibility and positive relationships with people and enjoy working in a highly collaboratively way. You will be a confident and credible communicator, able to influence and act as a trusted advisor.

What We’re Looking For:

· Educated to CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, or specialist underpinning theoretical knowledge
supported by considerable relevant practical experience and evidence of continuous
professional development

· Considerable experience of delivering a high-quality People customer service within a
complex and diverse organisation

· Up to date knowledge of employment legislation, case law, HR best practice and it’s
practical application, including learning and development
