Job Purpose

This role sits within our new Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

This will be achieved through three service strands: 1) Peer support network, 2) Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health 3) Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.

The Men’s Minds Project Coordinator will work closely with the members in shaping the service and ensuring voices of men in Hounslow are heard and acted upon. This service will be staffed with 1 part-time (25hrs per week) Project Coordinator and a pool of peer led volunteers. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the volunteers.

The Role

The role of the Men’s Minds Project Coordinator is to arrange and coordinate a range of psychoeducation, and peer-led workshops which will be delivered weekly. With the addition of attending various community and stakeholder events to deliver the outreach strand of the service.

The role will require hybrid and flexible working: onsite for all the peer/psychoeducation sessions but the with expectation to be attending various community events and services to promote the service.

This role will require the successful candidate to support to the Head of Audit, Risk & Governance in the implementation and oversight of effective risk management and assurance policies and procedures for the whole organisation.

Role Requirements

 You will attend the Audit & Risk Committee and other board committees from time to time to present on risk and assurance.  With experience of delivering 2nd line risk and assurance activities within large, complex or heavily regulated organisation, you will be effective in building professional relationships and influencing and collaborating with colleagues from all disciplines and at all levels. 

You will need to engage effectively with frontline and support colleagues to really understand the needs of our beneficiaries and the risks to the charity more broadly.  The ultimate objective of risk management at The Children’s Trust is to ensure the charity continues to deliver high-quality, safe and effective and financially sustainable services for vulnerable children now and in the longer-term.

Although the role does not have any formal direct reports, the Risk & Assurance Analyst will have a dotted line into the Risk & Assurance Manager, providing support particularly on business continuity but also on risk management as and when necessary.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Job Purpose

The National Ophthalmology Database (NOD) is a core Department workstream using clinical audit data to identify improvements and provide advice, to inform patient care, safety, and service delivery. This is a new role working with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and support the programe manager to deliver activities of the NOD. The post requires strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. The role will be responsible for all aspects of project support and day-to-day management of the NOD website, including implementation of new developments with the supplier and analysis of usage to suggest areas for improvement.

Main Areas of Work and Responsibility

• Assist the NOD Manager in project planning to identify and track deviations from the project plan and budget, identifying and logging any risks and issues, and improving project procedures

• Management of the NOD website including liaising with the website supplier, working with the NOD Manager to develop a content schedule, editing content, assisting users with queries, authorising user access

We are excited to be taking the lead in the London Whole Housing Service Partnership (LWHSP) which will address and enhance the pathways of housing support for women experiencing domestic abuse, from removing them from immediate harm, to enabling recovery and resettlement across all levels of need. The LWHSP are seeking to build on our delivery across 11 East and West London boroughs of the Whole Housing Approach (WHA).

The Housing IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will specialise in working with clients for whom housing, and risk of tenancy breakdown is a factor. You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. You will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About You:

As a Housing IDVA, you will need to have a degree of flexibility for colocation work across London boroughs; providing support to women who have experienced domestic violence, focusing on individuals with housing or tenancy issues. Working in our fast-paced crisis intervention, advocacy and support service, you’ll ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will have your own caseload of survivors and will focus on working with those aged 18 and over who access our domestic abuse service. 

You will bring experience in providing independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women who approach housing advice and assessment for help. Ideally experience in working with housing service providers, and advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies. You will have the ability to develop individual safety and support plans in-line with the clients’ needs and the risks they face.

Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Legal Officer to advise and help improve the representation of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum, and help change the asylum and immigration system to one that treats everyone with compassion, dignity and respect.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with valid practising certificate, or already accredited to Level 3 OISC, with two years’ experience in providing advice and representation in asylum including working in legal aid.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the legal advice service. Under the guidance of our Legal Service Manager, you will also build capacity amongst legal representatives by designing and delivering training, giving second tier advice and developing and coordinating a network of practitioners working in this area. You will use the knowledge you gain in this role to help deliver Rainbow Migration’s policy work, such as inputting into policy papers and meeting with partner organisations when required.

We will also consider applications from people who do not want to do the policy elements of the job, but to instead focus on first and second tier advice. Please mention in your covering letter if you are applying for this option.

This is a unique opportunity to build on your experience as a lawyer to improve representation across the sector and create change in government policy and practice. You will be supported to develop as a specialist lawyer and in your policy skills.

Responsibilities will include:

· Deliver one-off advice to adult LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and work with colleagues to refer them to quality legal aid and pro bono lawyers

· Provide casework assistance e.g. helping to prepare witness statements, making referrals to other specialist organisations and taking other urgent steps (whilst not representing service users or maintaining a caseload)

· Provide occasional advice (within competence) on other issues affecting asylum and partnership service users such as asylum support, legal aid, trafficking, family reunion or community care

· Deliver second tier advice to the legal representatives of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and other charities and professionals

· Work with the Legal Service Manager to design and deliver training to lawyers, NGOs and other professionals

· Write blogs and articles on asylum and immigration policy and legislation as they apply to LGBTQI+ people

· Contribute to policy and briefing papers

· Assist with preparing guidelines and briefings for legal services and pro bono lawyers

The Legal Officer will not be providing direct legal representation of service users. However, the role includes substantive advice and casework within the scope of legal support and referrals for our service users, as well as merits testing and second tier advice.

Last year we saw a 133% growth in the numbers of young people facing homelessness coming through our doors. Now, nearly half of them are - or recently have been - sleeping rough and with the numbers of young rough sleepers in the capital growing at an alarming rate, New Horizon Youth Centre has had to take decisive action to unlock support and housing for this group. The Head of Services - Rough Sleeping is a brand-new role for the organisation and will lead on developing a new internal strategy for young people facing rough sleeping, as well as holding operational oversight of our established youth-specific street outreach function and emergency accommodation hub, both of which are unique in London. You will need to be strategic in approach and an excellent relationship builder. You will act as our lead colleague on relationships with the Greater London Authority and London Councils’ rough sleeping teams, working with them to ensure our learning and insights inform policy and ultimately open up access to emergency support for those under 25. Job Purpose

As part of the four strong events team, this role is responsible for coordinating the delivery of numerous educational events throughout the year. • End to end event, speaker and customer support specifically for the TTT and CESR events and as delegated for the education and seminar programme.

About the role:

One role is based at Kings College Hospital the second role is based at Princess Royal University Hospital. As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• implement effective ways of working with male victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm
• provide a high-quality, front-line service to male victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through procedures and protocols to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• specialise and be leading practitioner for Male victims of domestic abuse; providing advice, guidance and single point of contact for a male victims

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

About the Service

Our 24 hour specialist refuge service provides support for homeless women facing multiple disadvantage including but not

limited to:

• Substance misuse needs, including those who are pre-contemplative mental health and neurodiversity chaotic lifestyles, including those displaying antisocial
• behaviour.
• History of offending behaviour and criminal justice.
• History of children being removed from their care and/or at risk of further removals.
• Affected by or at risk of sex working.

The team delivers 121 support in the form of weekly keywork sessions working within a psychologically informed framework to create a support plan with residents and build on skills and competencies, this will be a flexible delivery model and provide medium to high support that offers people a personalised pathway away from homelessness,

which builds on their strengths and aspirations for the future.

In addition, the team is responsible for the building management including Health and Safety, the repairs and living environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a Service Manager to lead our Haringey Service. As the Service Manager you will ensure the provision of an excellent service for survivors of abuse, balancing the demands of supporting staff, managing partnerships, and contract compliance.

We are seeking someone with strong leadership skills with a commitment to keep survivors at the centre of service delivery whilst also delivering on service targets. You will have a passion for ending violence against women and girls as well as a thorough understanding of domestic abuse, multiple disadvantage and its impact on survivors. 

As the service manager you will oversee the following areas of work of which there is more info in the job Description:

2. Lead and Develop a staff team
3. Manage staff & Service Performance
4. Promote Solace and build relationships in the borough

• In-depth knowledge advising on a range of options including safe housing, criminal justice, civil remedies and risk management.
