Coeliac UK currently has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Marketing, to join our team in High Wycombe, with the option to regularly work from home by agreement with your line manager. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis (will consider temporary). In return you will receive a competitive salary of £45,000-£50,000 per annum based on experience.

Coeliac UK represents over 60,000 members providing information and support to those affected by coeliac disease or following a gluten free diet. We also campaign on behalf of all those living with coeliac disease and undertake research into the causes of the disease.

The Head of Marketing role:

This is an exciting new role in an expanding team, ideal for someone who’s an established marketeer and wants to make a difference. The Marketing & Digital Directorate objectives are to raise awareness of coeliac disease, extend our reach to a wider audience, grow our reputation with a variety of audiences, and maximise engagement. The Directorate operates as an in-house agency providing consultancy, creative generation, and managing all marketing across all channels and platforms.

Key responsibilities of the Head of Marketing:

• The core responsibility is to lead and deliver against all marketing objectives across the organisation – this includes working with Fundraising, Evidence and Policy, Commercial and Membership & Volunteering Directorates to develop strategies, activities and marketing communications. The role is very varied with good opportunities to generate creative solutions across our channels, including website, email, app, events, PR, magazines and social media.
• We are also implementing a number of new initiatives for the charity including revising our Vision, Mission and Values, plus developing a new brand proposition. This will be rolled out across the year and will require the Head of Marketing to work closely with the Director of Marketing & Digital and the CEO to implement this. We are also working on a new website to launch under the new brand proposition in early 2025 – the content and activation of this falls under the remit of the Head of Marketing, with the Director of Marketing & Digital supporting on strategy, and the Head of Digital providing all delivery.

Essential experience, skills and knowledge required for the Head of Marketing role:

• More than 10 years Marketing and Communications experience with at least three years at senior management level
• Strategic leader able to see the big picture and deliver the detail
• Motivational and supportive manager able to guide and develop team members
• Cooperative team player with practical ‘can do’ attitude incorporating a flexible approach
• Evidence of successfully managing complex projects and budgets and the ability to work accurately and at pace

The role

We are looking to appoint a Retail Shop Cover Manager (Known internally as Retail Divisional Support Manager) based in the Yorkshire and Humberside area and supporting a number of Scope shops in this area. 

The Retail Divisional Support Manager involves working closely with the Divisional Managers to enable our shops to trade when there are vacancies or sickness. The role will play a key role in maintaining and improving the running of our shops day to day and enable us to maximise sales and profit. This role will involve running various shops and travel across the division.

Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! From generating and processing stock to designing an eye-catching window display or recruiting and training our wonderful volunteer team you’ll find every day challenging but extremely rewarding. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

As Retail Divisional Support Manager you’ll be passionate about retail and have a love of fashion with experience of running a shop, or you’ll be looking for a management role as the next step in your career and be comfortable working closely with the Divisional Management Team. About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.

About You

You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. We are seeking a motivated and organised Business Support Officer to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth running of our operations and supporting our mission to positively impact lives through water based activities.

This role will join a vibrant and ambitious fundraising team made up of; major giving, trusts and foundations, prospect research, individual giving, community, events, legacies, innovation and supporter experience. The team’s mission is to raise income for our three hospitals to enable them to continue their vital work. This role will make a huge difference in helping us do that. 

The post holder will manage our supporter panel, cultivating relationships with panel members. Working closely with the Supporter Experience and Journeys Manager this role will test new journeys, support implementation of new fundraising products and integrated campaigns, championing supporter needs and pain points, ensuring their valuable insights contribute to the enhancement of our supporter experiences and journey initiatives.
 

Key Responsibilities

Supporter Experience and journey best practices

• Identify and improve key pain points in existing supporter journeys; making recommendations for improvements that colleagues can implement and support them on how to measure and report back on those changes.  
• Support on measuring supporter satisfaction and testing outputs with supporters.
• Support fundraising colleagues to implement supporter journeys and stewardship programmes across the portfolio to maximise net income and retention of supporters.
• Lead the annual supporter experience and journeys audit, facilitating process discovery workshops to identify pain points and make recommendations on improvements to wider stakeholders and monitor the improvement progress. 
• Deliver process maps for all supporter journeys, ensuring they are monitored and kept up to date. 
• Review communications against supporter journey maps to ensure the supporters needs are met. 
• Help deliver the Supporter Experience and Journey strategy.
• Assist in piloting new stewardship journeys for supporters, ensuring that they feel valued and involved in the charity’s work.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, fundraising, communications, and program delivery, to ensure alignment and integration of supporter experience initiatives across the organization.

Data & Insight

• To work closely with our Supporter Experience and Journey Manager to gather insight with the data team to optimise current personas and identify new personas. 
• Manage a supporter feedback panel, recruiting new members and conducting user testing to assess the effectiveness of our journeys, experience, products, and integrated campaigns with them.
• Liaise with the fundraising, supporter care, digital and data teams to identify recurring supporter journey issues and make recommendations for improvements.
• Support on implementing our effectiveness evaluation approach to supporter experiences, journeys, and initiatives. Regularly reporting on key metrics and using findings to drive continuous improvement in collaboration with the digital and data team.
• Support on conducting research and analysis to gain insights into supporter behaviours, preferences, and pain points. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and enhance supporter journey initiatives.

Driving the adoption of supporter-first approach

• Develop and foster excellent working relationships to establish buy-in for a data-driven and supporter-first approach to fundraising across the charities and be prepared where necessary, with sound rationale, to recommend solutions that meet supporter needs, strategic objectives, and journey best practises.
• Help to drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and optimization within the supporter journey. Implement feedback loops and mechanisms for ongoing refinement of supporter experience strategies.
• When necessary, work with stakeholders to understand detailed operational processes and identify opportunities for a supporter-first approach to help fulfil their requirements. 
• Keep up to date with supporter-centric industry trends, techniques, and best practices related to supporter experience and supporter journeys and share learnings with stakeholders.

Work environment

• The post holder should expect to:
• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Multimedia Content Producer to join the Marketing Communications team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. This role will support the Senior Creative Lead & Design Manager and Head of Marketing & Brand to create, commission and produce a wide variety of creative marketing materials, focusing on photography and video assets. 

You will work across all areas of SSAFA, so your creative talents will help raise awareness of crucial services, recruit volunteers, support fundraising initiatives and promote understanding of SSAFA’s work, this will allow you the ability to flex your content production skills to different audience types and a wide range of outputs. You will work from creative concept to asset completion and be able to lead on the development of our video strategy and planning. This is a new role within the organisation so you will have the exciting opportunity to shape the future direction of multimedia content, in particular focusing on video content strategy. 

You will have access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software, and actively encouraged to develop your skills and proficiency in areas you may not have experienced, some skill in using other Adobe products such as InDesign is desirable, but not essential. 

We are looking for someone with an exceptional eye for detail, bags of initiative, creativity and innovation. This role will offer plenty of variety - no two days will be the same - but you will need to juggle different creative projects, be able to prioritise, communicate effectively and work collaboratively. 

About the team 

You will be joining a well-established team of marcomms professionals, ranging from Designers to Case Study Managers. You will have plenty of opportunity to interact with photo/video freelancers as well as other internal departments, such as Fundraising or members of the volunteer network. 

About you 

To hit the ground running and carry out this role successfully you will have:

• A portfolio of video or photographic projects demonstrating; creative concept development, collaboration others/colleagues to produce creative assets. 
• Demonstratable experience of planning and managing a pipeline of photo, video or audio assets, and working collaboratively and effectively to achieve engaging content that supports SSAFA achieving its KPIs.
• Demonstrable experience of organising a photo/video shoot, including briefing photographers, videographers or others. 
• Demonstrable experience of creating compelling multimedia content that drives an emotional connection with the audience. You may have undertaken parts of this process such as crafting a storyboard and briefing the delivery, or you may have taken video footage to edit varying assets. 
• Experience working with a marketing or communications team to support the creation and delivery of digital assets for active TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter social media accounts, including knowledge of different digital and social media advertising format would be advantageous. 
• Excellent skills in Premiere Pro (or similar) 
• Some skill in other creative tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. would be advantageous.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines as needed. 
• Experience of working in a commercial, public or not-for-profit organisation would be beneficial.

We are looking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead our team of dedicated professionals in an ambitious strategy to grow and develop our services across the UK.  Ideally the successful candidate will have some first-hand experience of neurodivergent children, combined with a knowledge of the education systems in place across the UK.  Experience of fundraising within a membership organisation and a track record in the effective use of technology will also be very useful.  This role will be supported by engaged Trustees, within an active community of families and schools, who recognise that the ability to empathise with young people with high learning potential and their families is at the heart of this role.

• help formulate and execute the agreed strategic objectives of the charity

Main responsibilities for all employees

Main responsibilities for the CEO

Strategy

• To collect and maintain information and evidence that contributes to the strategic planning of the charity.
• To work with the Board of Trustees (and other staff members and advisers as appropriate) to develop the strategic objectives and the strategic plan for the charity.
• To implement and periodically review the business plan and ensure all operational activities support the strategic objectives.

Management and Administration

• To motivate and develop the team of professional staff.
• To provide a structure of line management and support for all staff.
• To recruit and terminate staff in line with the charity’s policies and values.
• To oversee the work of contracted companies and individuals with the support of the Deputy CEO.
• To provide and promote structures for volunteers to support high learning potential.

Financial Management

• To manage the charity’s financial resources effectively, in line with the agreed annual budget.
• To maintain the charity’s compliance with financial bodies such as HMRC.
• To implement a robust income-generation strategy as agreed with the Board of Trustees
• To oversee the fundraising activities being implemented for the charity.

Quality of Services and Products

• To implement and oversee the development of high-quality services and products that are appropriate for the charity’s beneficiaries.

Marketing and Advocacy

About Us

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.

The role

Is an exciting new edition to the TUR team, created to capitalise on the fact that the number of businesses in our catchment area is 45000+, but we’re not trying to talk to all of them, just target a few – ideally by gaining referrals and recommendations. So the job is to proactively find those local businesses happy to talk to us, understand what they might be looking for by partnering with a charity, share our brilliant story along with the business case (which is strong) for them to get involved with us in some way. We have made an excellent start, we already have a small number of great corporate partners, and this job is about taking it all on to the next level. As you would expect the role is about creating contacts, networking, maximising the face-to-face time with prospective partners and where possible gaining referrals. And, ultimately this is all because, the bigger our portfolio of corporate partners all feeling great about their involvement with us, the more able we are to raise the funds we need to keep up with an ever-increasing demand for our services.

About You

You live within - or know well, West/Central London, you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the product or service you’re talking about. You have a CV that demonstrates solid experience in a comparable role in a ‘business-to-business’ environment, a role - the success of which, is dependent on the levels of energy and proactivity you provide. This could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. However, if you have a solid B2B background and want to explore a change of direction you are also very welcome to apply. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ your story through your presentation skills. You also need great listening skills so you can build a picture of what each new corporate partner is looking to achieve by signing up to our cause. As Shop Manager at Scope's Scarborough shop,  you’ll have autonomy to run your shop using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment.
