The job

Reporting to the Financial Planning and Reporting Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting effective financial decision making across the organisation. The Management Accountant acts as a finance business partner to circa 20 budget holders across a diverse portfolio, including Building and Projects, Philanthropy and Fundraising, and corporate services functions such as Finance and IT.

The role supports stakeholders throughout the annual budget, forecasting and year end reporting cycle, ensuring that financial information is accurate, well understood and actively used to inform decision making. Responsibilities include producing monthly management accounts and commentary, providing financial analysis and insight for senior stakeholders, supporting budgets and forecasts, contributing to year end and audit processes, and delivering operational finance and ad hoc analytical support.

This is a hands on, outward facing role in a fast moving environment, offering broad exposure across a complex organisation.

The person

Candidates will have a proven finance background, ideally in management accounting or business partnering. You will be part-qualified, qualified, or with equivalent experience.

The successful individual will be technically strong, analytical and detail focused, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities. They will be confident engaging with non finance colleagues, building trusted relationships, and explaining financial information clearly and pragmatically.

Strong systems skills are required, particularly in Excel, with the ability to interrogate finance systems to extract insight. A flexible mindset, a proactive approach and a desire to continuously improve processes are essential.

Aims and scope of the post

The aim of this post is to ensure sound financial management to support the organisation’s ongoing charitable work. The Finance Manager is responsible for CT’s financial strategy, timely and accurate financial administration, maintenance of financial and management accounts, as well as cash flow, stock control, payroll and pension.

Responsibilities and tasks

Budgeting and forecasting

• Produce annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and scenario models for the organisation budget.

Reporting

Operation Manager opportunity at Alford House

We are recruiting a versatile and commercially- oriented Operations Manager to manage the facilities, develop our rental income and provide timely and accurate financial and administrative management support.

Working model: Reporting to the Senior Youth Worker and working 18 hours, typically over 2.5 days per week (flexible working pattern can be agreed), this is a hands-on role covers (but is not limited to) the following;

The Role

This role will lead the financial strategy and financial management of the TLC Group.

You will:

· Lead financial strategy to ensure sustainability and growth.

· Advise the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board on financial matters.

· Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and financial planning.

· Ensure strong governance, controls, and regulatory compliance.

· Provide clear, high-quality financial reporting and Board assurance.

· Lead audit, statutory reporting, and external auditor relationships.

· Oversee financial systems and processes to support growth.

· Lead financial due diligence for partnerships, mergers, and opportunities.

· Lead and develop the finance team, promoting accountability, and transparency.

About You

We’re looking for a values-led, people-focused leader with sound judgement and strong operational experience.

You’ll bring:

· Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

· Significant senior finance leadership experience.

· Strong expertise in financial strategy, planning, and governance.

· Experience of Board reporting and working with senior stakeholders.

· Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.

· Experience in financial modelling and supporting growth.

· Proven ability to lead and develop high performing teams.

· Strong analytical skills, including advanced excel capability.

· Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.

· Collaborative, values-led, and motivated by social impact.

The Offer

· Salary: £61,429 - £71,069

· 37 hours per week

What you’ll do

This is a senior, strategic finance leadership role responsible for shaping long-term financial planning, leading business partnering across the organisation, and providing insight to support Executive decision-making and organisational sustainability.

• As the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will lead financial strategy and modelling, Develop long-term financial plans, including income and expenditure projections, scenario modelling, and sustainability metrics (e.g. cash flow, reserves, EBITDA)
• You will own budgeting and reporting, Oversee budgeting, forecasting and management accounts, ensuring accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting
• Drive business partnering, build strong relationships with budget holders and senior stakeholders, providing challenge, insight and support to improve financial performance
• The Head of Finance Business Partnering will lead and develop the team, manage and grow a high-performing Finance Business Partnering team, supporting capability and continuous improvement
• You will be tasked to enhance systems and processes – Improve financial systems, tools and processes to strengthen data quality, insight and organisational decision-making

What you’ll bring

You will be a senior, qualified finance leader with strong business partnering experience, able to combine strategic thinking with advanced technical expertise to influence decision-making, lead high-performing teams, and drive financial insight across a complex, mission-driven organisation.

• You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant experience in financial management within a complex organisation
• You will have strong business partnering and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders and non-financial stakeholders
• As the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will bring advanced financial modelling and analytical capability, including scenario planning, data interpretation, and translating insight into action
• You will have proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams, managing competing priorities and delivering to tight deadlines
• For this role, you will have experience in budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, ideally within the charity sector, including knowledge of restricted funds and compliance

Key details

Hours: Full-time: usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. Flexible working is possible.

Salary: £60,000 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). There may be occasions where additional office attendance is required, depending on business needs.
