Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the development and implementation of the trusts and grants team strategy.
• Generating funding toward the team income target of £4.2m with an approximate contribution of £200,000 annually through management of existing trust relationships and the trusts mailing. 
• Managing your own portfolio of 20+ existing funders, providing them with excellent stewardship.
• Developing effective relationships with trusts via telephone, email, Zoom and face to face contact – at meetings and events.
• Maintaining relationships with new and existing funders and then submitting excellent quality funding reports/applications. 
• Maximising on charitable trust relationships to secure the maximum amount of funding. 
• Using your creativity  and new ideas to lead on the growth of the income of the trusts mailing
• Demonstrating perseverance and determination in order to develop new funding relationships. 

Skills

• Passion to support children and young people, preventing mental health issues from developing 
• Ideally one year or more experience in Trusts fundraising, although this does not need to be exclusively working on Charitable Trusts’
• A positive ‘can-do’ approach and a flexible team player who will contribute to the overall success of the team
• A proactive self-starter who can manage their own workload in a self-directed environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to communicate and influence others verbally
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce work to a high professional standard
• Demonstrable experience of working to and achieving deadlines, effectively planning out your time
• Ideally experience in personally securing fundraising income
• The ability to produce project budgets and the attention to detail, checking budgets for accuracy

Head of UK Programmes is the senior lead on UK-wide grants and programmes, working closely with nation teams and fundraising to shape and deliver a sector leading portfolio of programmes that is evidence informed, and evidence generating, catalysing positive change for carer organisations and unpaid carers. This role requires an established social sector leader who is adept at demonstrating internal and external leadership,

You will be detail oriented and logical to provide robust programme quality and assurance expertise, yet equally comfortable to lead the organisation externally too. You will be passionate about positioning Carers Trust’s programmatic offer as relevant and additive, drawing on emerging and best practice from across our network of 126 carer organisations.

As a seasoned programmes professional your leadership accountability for UK Programmes spans from development through to implementation and you will work closely across the nations to steward and role model a joined up approach across Carers Trust’s programme cycle, leading to meaningful and coherent programming.

The role holder will instill a learning and continuous improvement culture across the programmes and impact community, to ensure that programmatic learning is used to inform our network offer, evolving research agenda and influencing activities. The post holder will lead a UK programmes team, and be able to work thematically on programmes for carers of all ages and will be comfortable with a matrix management approach to nation-specific programmes teams. The UK programmes team will vary in size according to the volume and complexity of Carers Trust’s programmes portfolio

The Project Coordinator will work closely with our team of five Programme Managers to support with the day-to-day operations of the programme. SCLF was established in 2016 with a 10-year mission and ten years of funding from John Swire & Sons Ltd with the objective of getting Mandarin Chinese more broadly taught in UK state schools across primary and secondary. The Foundation believes that there is tremendous value for young people to learn a foreign language and that learning Mandarin Chinese in Britain will enable future generations to develop a greater understanding of China.

The Grants Programme Assistant will support both the Executive Director and the Assistant Manager across the remit of the SCLF’s work to help it deliver its objectives. This is a unique and interesting opportunity to join the organisation at a key point in its ten-year trajectory as it works to support schools to continue their language provision post 2026 and help shape what that future might look like. 

The postholder will play a key role when it comes to supporting the Executive Director and Assistant Manager in their day-to-day roles and get very involved in the operations of the Foundation. The work will cover wide remit of areas including: financial administration, supporting with termly funding reports-and-request process for schools, preparing internal expense requests and maintaining the expenses log. You will support with the annual Grant Agreement extension process, general programme administration, the annual data requests and the organisation of annual assessment visits to Centres. The postholder will maintain relationships with the Foundation’s network of schools and other institutions. You will support with board administration, scheduling meeting dates, manage logistics and support with the preparation of papers. You will also support with event administration for two annual conferences and also sit in on many of the meetings which the Foundation holds with various stakeholders and take meeting notes where possible.

Role Purpose

The purpose of the Fundraiser role is primarily to raise funds from UK trusts, foundations and statutory funders and to identify, generate, grow and maintain this vital income stream. Some engagement to support other strands of fundraising will be required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Research and Identification of Funders

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our research projects and research funding plans, including in response to requests from Heads of Department and Senior Management Team;
• Research, identify and prioritise potential grants, personal & institutional trusts and statutory funders and funding opportunities, including keeping up to date with new fundraising opportunities in the faith and heritage sectors and in London;
• Undertake research on funders and grant making bodies to assess their potential for funding opportunities;

• Develop and write high quality, compelling fundraising proposals and applications which communicate Southwark Cathedral’s funding needs clearly and concisely;

Fundraising

• Secure funding from UK trusts, foundations and statutory funding bodies to meet Budgetary targets and support proposed future projects at the Cathedral;
• Support the implementation of a trusts and foundations programme, with a view to increasing funding for flagship projects alongside core unrestricted funding;
• Assist with the organisation of fundraising events as required;
• Ensure approaches to trusts and other donors are streamlined and targeted.

Contact and Liaison

• Manage the Cathedral’s donor records including gift aid declarations, personal information and legacy pledges and other non-financial information provided by donors - adhering to data protection best practice at all times;
• Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Manager to analyse the existing donor communications and suggest improved methods of engagement;
• Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Manager to arrange for the creation and maintenance of pages on the Cathedral website that highlight the fundraising activity and communicate successes achieved;
• Act as the primary point of contact for all existing and potential trust and grants funders, directing enquiries as appropriate;
• Develop a network of strong relationships with existing and prospective grant, trust and statutory funders;
• Organise meetings and events for prospective supporters and provide briefings for colleagues.

Information Management, Monitoring and Evaluation

• Maintain the Cathedral’s fundraising database, ensuring all records are updated and maintained correctly in accordance with the Cathedral’s data protection policy;
• Manage the reporting, recording and administration progress of existing grants, advising relevant members of the team well in advance of reporting deadlines;
• Work with others to develop and implement effective evaluation, monitoring and reporting processes for funders, and ensure reporting requirements are fulfilled and activities remain outcome and impact focused;
• Manage and maintain records and monitor progress of applications and relationships, including working to agreed KPIs;
• Prepare regular progress reports on fundraising and activities for SMT and the Chapter as required;
• Use the Cathedral’s fundraising database to analyse the success rates to support fundraising strategy and individual projects;
• Work with the Finance team to ensure that all funding is quickly and correctly processed and acknowledged and that financial reports are available in the appropriate format;
• Work with the Governance & Committees Manager and Finance Team to support reporting requirements and compliance with the relevant legislation and codes of conduct;
• Work with the COO and Marketing & Communications Manager to create appropriate evaluation and legacy documentation.

Other

• Manage the relevant administration that accompanies this role, including booking meetings and taking minutes as required;
• Play an active role as a member of the Cathedral team, supporting each other as required;
• Be an ambassador for the Cathedral and assist the Fundraising Advisory Panel in developing positive relationships with the Cathedral’s key stakeholders.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience

• You will have experience of writing fundraising bids and completing engaging applications;
• You will have knowledge and experience of heritage, community or religious grant-funding sources and how to access them;

Terms and Conditions

Working Hours

The working hours shall be 35 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks). Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.

Annual Leave

25 days per annum as well as statutory bank holidays, with an additional 5 days (pro-rata) after 10 years service. 

Probation

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

Season Ticket Loan

Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.

Pension

The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.

Working Expenses

Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Main purpose of the role

We have a dynamic Fundraising team and over the last three years we have seen an incredible growth across established income streams and creation of new exciting income streams. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management

• Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate partnerships including strategic partnerships, commercial partnerships, charity of the year and corporate donations, and support Corporate Partnership Managers with responsibilities relating to larger partnerships.
• Deliver excellent partnership management including developing a partnership plan, meeting with stakeholders, delivery of partner benefits and account stewardship.
• Develop and deliver timely, relevant and engaging impact reporting.
• Develop new and grow existing corporate partnerships, drafting and negotiating partnership agreements, for the best outcomes across FareShare’s work and maximising the income potential.
• Maintain robust account growth plans, update pipelines and stakeholder mapping for your partners.
• Produce high quality communications, reports, propositions and pitches for partnerships - delivering excellent account management through the highest levels of supporter centred stewardship.
• Ensure we maximise the skills and experience of corporate partners through pro-bono, value-in-kind and volunteering support.

New Business

• Proactively approaching corporate opportunities following our new business strategy, writing funding proposals and approaching community groups for new partnerships
• Responding to volunteer enquiries from companies who want to work with FareShare and converting enquiries to new business leads when viable
• Contribute to the fundraising team new business pipeline
• Maintaining accurate cultivation plans and reporting for new business approaches

• Develop PR and communication plans for corporate partners, working in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.

About the role

The Events Officer plays a key role in our highly effective communications team, leading on the delivery of an impactful programme of events – both online and in person. The role works with teams from across the organisation to plan, deliver and promote all types of events, including workshops, roundtables, conferences, webinars, receptions and other types of online and in person events.

Events are an important way for Ageing Better to influence priority audiences, including businesses and local and national government, and the postholder will advise teams on how events can best reach these audiences, encourage engagement and lead to lasting relationships.

This role sits within the Communications team, and the postholder will be responsible for drafting comms content, such as blogs and social media posts, particularly in relation to event promotion.

About you

You are highly organised, with excellent prioritisation and project management skills, enabling you to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. You have good attention to detail and enjoy planning, solving logistical problems and delivering events to a tight budget.

Job Summary

The Haringey Community Alliance Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Alliance team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.

We envisage the Haringey Community Alliance Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. The salary range reflects this, with the upper end of the salary range reserved for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to deliver at both the operational and strategic levels.

Operationally, the postholder will have specific management responsibility for co-developing priorities for local VCS funding and capacity building, as well as the Volunteer Centre and wider VCS community of practice. The post holder has lead responsibility for developing the Annual Work Programme, performance management and reporting against the targets and milestones in the Contract.

Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. This would include leading the shaping and delivery of a Capacity Building strategy; representing the VCS Alliance at stakeholder meetings and influencing key stakeholders to better support Haringey’s VCS; as well as growing the reach and impact of the Capacity Building service by engaging new funders and partners.

Key Tasks

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all high value fundraising activity, including proposals, applications, and donor interactions, and be able to regularly report this activity back to the Head of Philanthropy.

• Manage a portfolio of low-mid level prospects and existing donors, developing clear strategies to cultivate relationships and secure continued philanthropic support of £1,000 to £10,000. Ensure all donors in the assigned portfolio are provided stewardship and take responsibility for contacts and annual work plan.

• Develop and deliver a programme of cultivation, stewardship and recognition low-mid level donors and prospects, proactively seeking opportunities to improve the chances of securing repeat gifts through bespoke communications and consistent stewardship.

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and wider High Value Team with stewardship and cultivation of donors and key contacts. These activities may include virtual events, stewardship events, proposal development, annual reporting, and direct marketing appeals.

• Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system for all existing and prospective donors within High Value Giving liaising with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure reconciliation with financial record.

• Work closely with the Philanthropy team and other colleagues to maximise all opportunities and support a dynamic, successful, and professional team

• Ensure that data security is maintained and that legal and regulatory requirements are fully complied with.

• Undertake other tasks, when necessary, to achieve the team’s and the organisation’s overall objectives.

 General

• Managing a complex workload with competing demands and deadlines. The role holder will agree objectives and overall priorities with the Head of Philanthropy but is expected to manage unexpected/unplanned work within overall timeframes.
