About the Candidate
We are looking to recruit two exceptional candidates to the role of Alumni Engagement Assistant. This vital role will be the first point of contact for alumni, as well as having responsibility for alumni communications, engaging alumni with volunteering, and assisting with events.

DIRECTORATE PURPOSE
The Fundraising, Marketing and Communications directorate is responsible for:
• Income generation across trusts and foundations, corporates, major donors, community fundraising, public donations, and legacies, alongside relationships with commissioners and public sector funders.
• Partnership development, engaging businesses, philanthropists, trusts, and volunteers.
• Marketing of services and membership to families, adoptees, commissioners, and professionals in health, education, and social care.

As Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications you will:
• Build unrestricted income in a competitive funding environment

About This Job

The Scientific Communications and Content Assistant will support us to deliver our scientific communications strategy by helping to draft, design and publish engaging content for our print and digital platforms. The role will report to our Scientific Communications and Outreach Manager and work closely with the Public Affairs Lead and other internal teams to create engaging content for our audiences. - Be the first point of contact for retailby phone, letter or email and responding to these in a timely manner.

- To provide retail external fulfilment providers with information and support required to enable them to meet their fulfilment KPI of 1 to 3 working days, reporting any issues to the retail manager.
- To carry out retail administration duties including but not limited to the processing of all information relating to the organisational finance system.
Fundraising, Data and Database
- Support with the administration, booking, planning and delivery of income generating events.
- Produce materials to support community fundraising activity in line with agreed appeals and events.
- To work alongside the Database Manager to maintain the data architecture and quality of the database at all times.
General
- To manage the bookings diary for Mothers’ Union’s displays and banners.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Fundraising, Communications and Retail around team meetings.
- To actively be involved in any projects undertaken by the team and contribute as required or directed by the Director of Fundraising, Communications and Retail.
- To contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities.
- To provide general administrative and coordination support related to the building and teams across the organisation.
Skills & Experience

You’ll also help with travel arrangements as and when required, including collecting the employee and their guide dog from home and going to a train station or providing a travel from their home to various Guide Dogs sites. You’ll provide sighted guidance, ensuring the employee can navigate unfamiliar environments with confidence.
