Job description

Are you looking for a role where your talents as an experienced fundraising professional can benefit tens of thousands of families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people?

Family Fund is the UK’s largest charity providing grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people – providing over 88,000 grants and services worth over £33 million last year.

As Fundraising and Volunteering Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the fundraising strategy in key areas (including events, community and individual giving) and engaging the organisation in the development of volunteering to support organisational needs. You will coordinate the fundraising and volunteering team to support income growth and providing the best supporter experience for volunteers and fundraisers.

You will expand current fundraising and volunteering activity to create new opportunities for Family Fund, promoting the organisation with creativity and credibility to potential supporters. You will also attend networking events and manage senior relationships to support volunteering and fundraising activity, developing and sharing ideas to input into the strategic direction of fundraising.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development of the Individual Giving Strategy and managing existing individual giving activities, seeking to understand trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Managing the delivery of larger fundraising events and special events, such as dinners, with the support of the fundraising and volunteering team. Providing hands on direction and support to ensure the team achieve agreed targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Law and charity law specific to fundraising.

Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, you will have excellent networking and collaboration skills with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your influential writing and exceptional document presentation skills compliment your proven ability to research and identify appropriate fundraising opportunities. With an open and participative working style, you are a great team player and able handle pressure and to work to tight deadlines.

This post is based in York with occasional travel throughout the UK.
