Are you and experienced fundraiser that can hold and deliver a strategy?

We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser who can work alone and confidently to shape and grow our fundraising income.

At Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove (AUKWSBH), we’re proud of the difference we make but we know we can’t stand still. With an ageing population and increasing demand for our services, we’re looking for a highly experienced Fundraiser Manager to help us grow our voluntary income and deepen our impact even further.

This is a pivotal role, leading the development and delivery of a sustainable fundraising strategy that supports our mission to help people love later life.

You will initially work alone as we shape and grow the team going forward. You’ll be confident and assertive in working across the different fundraising income streams and with your knowledge and experience, guide us on what we need to do next.

The role involves developing local relationships, a strong understanding of West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and its communities is essential. You’ll spend time in our centres and communities, building connections and raising our profile locally, so applicants must be based in or very familiar with the area.

• Raise at least £500,000 in new money per annum, with a robust fundraising plan.
• Be an exceptional storyteller and writer, who can translate our impact into powerful cases for support across applications, campaigns and donor appeals.
• Shape the future of fundraising at AUKWSBH, advising on priorities and helping to grow the team.

This is a sought-after opportunity to join the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, one of the world’s most exciting and distinctive orchestras. You will make a vital contribution to the OAE’s performances in London, across the UK and around the world. 

The Projects Officer supports the Projects Director and Projects Manager on the day-to-day running of the Projects Department with a particular emphasis on project & tour administration, and concert management.  This role also supports the Projects Manager in nurturing the relationship between the OAE and Acland Burghley School.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Support the planning and delivery of tours, concerts and creative projects with one of the UK’s most dynamic orchestras.

• Help set up rehearsals, welcome artists backstage and stage manage performances at major venues and on tour.

• Assist in the coordination of travel, logistics and technical details that make each project run seamlessly.

• Work closely with musicians, schools and creative partners, supporting everything from chamber concerts to education projects.

• Organise player meetings, create the monthly newsletter and make sure every visitor and artist feels part of the OAE family.

The role is such that good levels of flexibility will be required as a significant amount of the OAE concert work takes place outside standard office hours, with some early starts and late finishes.  The OAE operates a TOIL (time off in lieu) policy.

Royal Medical Benevolent Fund (RMBF) provide advice and financial assistance in the form of grants at times of crisis and hardship.  Our work is funded through a combination of donations, legacies and returns on our investments.

The Head of Finance & IT will manage the relationships with the three investment managers and the outsourced IT providers.  It is a varied role, combining the strategic with the hands-on.  It will suit a versatile individual who is happy to transition between multiple tasks.  No two days will be the same.  One moment you might be writing or reviewing Board papers, the next you might be managing an IT support call and then later on you might be rolling up your sleeves to post the final journal entries to complete the management accounts.

• Accurate, timely and user-friendly management accounts, cash flow projections and other relevant financial information, with associated recommendations where appropriate
• An annual budget and accompanying management commentary
• Draft statutory accounts which meet the latest SORP requirements, producing the audit file and being the lead contact for the Fund’s auditors during the annual external audit
• Full compliance with UK charity and company financial regulations; and appropriate financial controls in place and complied with

• Responsible for the development and implementation of the RMBF’s Information Technology strategy

• Cost effective development and use of IT within the Fund, to enable staff to make good use of IT for communication, record keeping and management information
• Managing the relationship with the Fund’s outsourced IT support companies.

Person Specification

• Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience
• Good understanding of charity SORP
• Experienced in preparing charity statutory accounts
• Experienced in charity investment management; good understanding of charity investment and restricted funds
• Good understanding of stakeholder pension and latest regulatory requirement
• IT literate including database management and development and an advanced user of the Microsoft Office package
• Good communication skills to be able to deliver a presentation to the stakeholders and manage business relationships with investment managers, IT providers, bankers and auditors as well as internally with department managers
• Experience in team management

The Role

We are recruiting to the new role of Resident Liaison Officer, to respond to enquiries from potential Residents, their families and social work teams. 

We are looking for an individual with excellent relationship building skills who can understand the emotions and challenges our prospective Residents may face when choosing to move to a care home. Your role will involve liaising with all enquirers, providing them with information about our homes and supporting them throughout the admission process. You will need to have strong administration skills and experience of using a database and the Microsoft office suite and be able to pull reports on all areas of the enquiries and admission process. 

A sales and marketing background would be an advantage for this role and understanding and respect for the Jewish faith and customs is essential.

In this post you will have the opportunity to develop and manage the City of Sanctuary Sheffield volunteer team.  You will be a vital part of the running of City of Sanctuary Sheffield - ensuring that the volunteer team is inclusive, cohesive and well trained and that it supports all the incredible work that City of Sanctuary Sheffield do. • Period of Contract: This is a temporary contract covering maternity leave for a duration of 9 months with the possibility of a 3 month extension  

• Hours of work: Part time – 0.4 FTE (14 hours a week)
