This role would suit an energetic and ambitious events professional, who is able to bring a structured and collaborative approach to deliver a demanding programme of events to the highest standard. With the support and guidance of the Head of Fundraising, CEO, and Board of Trustees, this is an exciting opportunity to take on a career defining role in an exceptionally well regarded and well run charity.

Job Description

Purpose:

• Overall responsibility for the delivery of Chance to Shine’s events, ensuring each event is executed to the highest standard.
• To lead the planning, budgeting, sales and delivery of fundraising events at Chance to Shine ensuring each event maximises income and profit for the charity.
• To develop an events strategy to maximise income from fundraising challenge events.
• To build positive relationships with charity VIPs and ambassadors, ensuring they are fully briefed at each event.
• To manage the Events Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Event Management

• Project management of a full programme of events including cultivation dinners, annual awards receptions, and major fundraising events.
• Lead on selling Chance to Shine events to new and existing supporters, maximising income through ticket/table sales, auction and raffle income, and sponsorships.

Event Planning

• Lead on the concept and design of new fundraising events.
• To develop and regularly review an organisational events strategy focused on maximising income and return on investment for the charity.

· To develop annual budgets, forecasts and plans for all event income to feed into the wider fundraising budget. 

· To have specific responsibility for the events budget within Chance to Shine Enterprises (CTSE), the trading subsidiary. 

Relationship Management

• Broaden supporter networks and build a community of event supporters through networking, introductions, and working with the wider fundraising team to cross sell events and maximise income.
• Build relationships with existing and new event partners including; charity ambassadors and event hosts, venues, auctioneers, auction/raffle supporters, silent auction partners, and value-in-kind partners/sponsors. 
• To lead on supplier relationships.
• To work with and manage senior volunteers to develop, plan and deliver major fundraising events.

Beneficiary and challenge events

• To build relationships with high value event partners and supporters who are raising funds on behalf of Chance to Shine, providing support as needed.
• To provide guidance to the Events Officer to maximise income from challenge events and community/third-party events.
• To work with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to integrate fundraising challenge events into our corporate partnership offer.
• To develop and implement a strategy to grow income from challenge events.

Line Management

· To line manage the Events Officer.  

Other

· To engage Trustees, SMT and colleagues to support partnership opportunities where appropriate.

· To maintain up to date Raisers Edge records relating to event attendees and partners.

· To represent the charity at external events as appropriate.

· To assist with other fundraising tasks as required. 

· To lead on the contracts process for event partnerships, liaising with the Director of Finance & Resources and external legal support as required.

· To ensure fundraising events are delivered in a safe and professional manner including responsibility for risk assessments relating to fundraising activity and events.

· To ensure all areas of events fundraising comply with sector and charity regulations and best practice

Purpose 

At Citizens UK, our organisers and project staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. Citizens UK has played a pioneering role in introducing and developing community sponsorship of refugees in the UK. In response to the Syrian refugee crisis, it called for a Canadian-style scheme in 2015, which led to the UK government launching its own programme in 2016. Citizens UK was instrumental in shaping the policy and later established the Sponsor Refugees programme in 2017 Through training, advocacy, and coordination, it has helped hundreds of local groups welcome refugee families. In 2022, Citizens UK expanded its work by launching the Communities for Ukraine programme, matching Ukrainian refugees with UK hosts and most recently has run Communities for Afghans, resettling dozens of refugees. Throughout, it has combined grassroots mobilisation with national advocacy to build a sustainable, community-led model of refugee resettlement. 

Main Responsibilities 

As Head of Community Sponsorship at Citizens UK you will lead the complex strategic and operational delivery of the Sponsor Refugees programmes. This currently includes funded work to deliver a second phase of the Communities for Afghans programme to welcome 125 Afghan refugees as well as oversee the development of influencing work around the UK Government’s forthcoming sponsorship reform agenda. The post-holder will oversee a cross-functional team, ensuring that goals around refugee resettlement, host and sponsor recruitment, and strategic partnerships are met. This includes managing project performance through effective monitoring and evaluation, aligning operations with the organisation’s business plan, and integrating teams to deliver impactful results. The role also involves coordinating outreach to grow the network of hosts and community sponsorship groups, while embedding refugee voices in strategic planning and promoting meaningful community engagement. 

In addition to project leadership, the Head of Community Sponsorship will drive organisational development by fostering collaboration, developing sustainable funding strategies, and ensuring alignment with Citizens UK’s broader migration and transformation goals. They lead relationship management with senior stakeholders, policy makers, and funders, and support the creation of campaigns and resources to expand public awareness and support for community sponsorship. With responsibilities spanning staff management, communications, and external representation, the role is key to shaping Citizens UK’s refugee resettlement strategy and sustaining its national impact. 

Working as the Head of Community Sponsorship for Citizens UK, initially reporting to the Director of Communications and External Affairs, your main responsibilities will include: 

Contribute to Citizens UK and Project Strategic Objectives 

• Demonstrate ability to initiate and lead large-scale, national-level community sponsorship programmes that reflect and advance Citizens UK’s mission. 

• Develop and implement strategic approaches that integrate community organising with refugee resettlement policy influence.

• Oversee multiple complex projects with national reach, ensuring targets on refugee resettlement, host recruitment, and strategic partnerships are achieved.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Archivist and Records Manager to join the Rhodes Trust, Oxford. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Rhodes Trust Archive.

We are looking for the successful candidate to start with us in December.

The role

The role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Rhodes Trust Archive, including maintaining an enquiries service for internal and external users, appraising and accessioning new material and cataloguing records. This includes both hard copy records in off-site storage and electronic records, in the organisation’s digital archive. There is also some responsibility for managing current and semi-current records within the organisation, including working with colleagues on data protection and retention.

The role will be responsible for;

· Maintaining an archives enquiries service for the general public, staff, Trustees and Scholars, including carrying out research on behalf of users, and arranging access to view archive material

· Appraisal, selection and cataloguing of uncatalogued records, including both hard copy and digital material

· Assisting the Trust with the ongoing management of records under data protection legislation and good practice

· Evaluation and implementation of digital archiving, including establishing procedures for ongoing transferal of records to the archive

· Promotional work including displays, and presentations, and writing articles on topics relevant to archives and records.

· Role modelling the Trust’s organisational values of commitment, inclusion, belonging, growth and innovation.

· Carrying out any other duties relevant to the role, as requested.

· A deep commitment to the values, ethos and mission of the Rhodes Trust.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:

· A first degree, and a postgraduate qualification recognised by the Archives and Records Association (ARA) is essential

· Working knowledge of GDPR

· High level written and spoken communication skills including the ability to draft correspondence independently

· Confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy

· A high level of initiative, efficiency, and attention to detail

· Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, and work without direct supervision

· The ability to undertake research in order to analyse and understand the archives

· Proficient Microsoft Office and database skills, including an aptitude to use IT to best enhance efficiency, and adapt to rapidly evolving IT packages and systems.

After investing in our Philanthropy and Marketing capacity, we’ve grown fundraising income by 60% and added almost £4 million to SCF’s endowment since 2021.  We’re about to launch a new 10-year strategy with ambitious plans to grow our endowment to £35 million by 2035 to significantly increase the funding we can provide our communities for generations to come.

This role will be key to our growth, particularly from gifts in Wills. We’re looking for someone passionate about delivering an outstanding donor experience that will ensure our supporters feel engaged, inspired and motivated to give through SCF to build stronger communities in Somerset.

We need someone who can confidently create and deliver fundraising strategies for growth, using data and insight to inform and evaluate their success. You’ll be methodical and analytical, confident balancing multiple workstreams and have superb attention to detail. And you’ll be a great communicator, able to effortlessly write clear and compelling copy that’s tailored to our audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead SCF’s legacy fundraising programme, working closely with the Philanthropy Director and Senior Marketing Manager to create and deliver a legacy fundraising strategy.
• Lead on the creation and delivery of a stewardship framework to deliver an outstanding donor experience for SCF’s supporters and partners, including fundholders, corporate partners, charitable trusts, legacy pledgers and individual donors.
• Lead on ensuring the team are making best use of Salesforce to support effective portfolio management and reporting, and maintaining high-quality data.
• Lead on the delivery of our annual Fundholder Impact Reports, working collaboratively with the wider team including Finance and Programmes and embedding more efficient use of CRM and AI to support this.
• Work with our Senior Marketing Manager to create and deliver a high-quality stewardship events programme, including our Annual Celebration, donor visits to charities and research and insight events tailored to the interests of our supporters and partners.
• Work with the Philanthropy Director and Senior Philanthropy Manager to refresh and grow our mid-level giving programme, reviewing our existing donor base, embedding stronger donor journeys, and undertaking research and data analysis to explore new opportunities such as next-generation philanthropy.
• Lead on the delivery of SCF’s Surviving Winter Appeal and any ad-hoc emergency appeals.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking a strategic and analytical Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the College’s mission to improve child health by ensuring effective financial planning, reporting, and business partnering across the organisation.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, you will lead on the annual budgeting and forecasting process, produce regular financial performance reports, and develop financial models to support key strategic decisions. You will ensure that the College’s leadership has access to clear, insightful analysis to guide financial and operational planning.

You will foster a culture of effective business partnering, providing expert financial advice and support to budget holders and colleagues across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the annual budgeting process and developing regular reforecasts in alignment with the College’s strategic priorities
• Producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analysis
• Developing financial models to support key strategic and operational decisions
• Providing financial insight and advice to senior leadership and budget holders to support informed decision-making

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the financial management, control and compliance functions of the College.

This is a pivotal leadership role within the Finance team, supporting the College’s mission to improve child health by ensuring strong financial governance, sound reporting, and long-term sustainability. Working closely with the Associate Director of Finance and senior leaders across the organisation, you will take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity and efficiency of all financial operations and reporting processes.

As Financial Controller, you will lead a team of six, overseeing financial control, statutory reporting, payroll, and compliance. You will ensure that robust internal controls are in place, and manage relationships with auditors, banks and investment partners.

This role will suit a qualified accountant with substantial experience in financial management and a collaborative leadership style.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the delivery of accurate and timely month-end and year-end processes, including group consolidations and statutory accounts
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax, audit and charity regulations (including SORP)
• Managing internal and external audit processes and acting as primary contact for auditors
• Overseeing payroll, accounts payable and receivable, cash management and treasury functions
• Maintaining and improving financial systems, processes, and internal controls
• Leading, developing and mentoring a team of finance professionals to achieve operational excellence
• Working closely with colleagues across the College to provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making

Essential skills and experience:

• Degree in finance, accounting or related field, and full professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• Proven track record of leading statutory reporting and year-end audit processes, including production of group consolidated accounts
• Experience managing financial operations in a complex organisation, preferably in the charity or healthcare sector
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Advanced Excel and strong working knowledge of financial systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a high-performing team
