Main Responsibilities:

Leadership

1. As a member of the Operational Leadership Team and wider Senior Leadership Team, work collaboratively and take collective responsibility for the strategic management and leadership of the organisation.

2. Work closely with the CEO, Treasurer and Board of Trustees to facilitate good governance and risk management.

3. Manage, maintain and develop all financial systems and control; increasing their impact and quality, and implementing best practices in financial management.

Financial Management

1. Lead and manage all aspects of the financial cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset management, reserves & designated fund management and financial reporting.

Work with HR & Payroll Officer to manage and retain oversight of the day to day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and general ledger maintenance, including the reconciliation of petty cash, credit cards and all bank accounts on a monthly basis reviewing and approving payment runs and payroll.

2. Attend Trustee Board meetings to report on financial matters, including the identification and management of financial risk, and provide any relevant reports.

3. To support the Trustees, SLT and line managers in managing our finances carefully and within our financial means, through provision of advice, guidance, support and training.

4. To be the main point of contact with external auditors.

5. To ensure that robust financial controls are in place, underpinned by appropriate financial policies and procedures and to ensure that they are adhered to and that the organisation is protected from fraud and error.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Leader based in the West Midlands to join the Homicide Service team. This role involves managing and supporting operational staff to ensure the delivery of excellent services to those affected by homicide.

The West Midlands covers Birmingham, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire. It is a requirement that you live within one of these area in order to carry out this role effectively.

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am -5pm

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £31,732.20 per annum

The Role

As a Homicide Team Leader, you will ensure the provision of high-quality services, maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, and provide strategic leadership to promote and develop services.

As a Homicide Team Leader, you will:

• Conduct audits and generate reports on case management systems, ensuring compliance with contract reporting requirements and national standards.
• Capture and analyse data to ensure outcome-based and evidenced work.
• Allocate work within the team, monitor daily caseloads, and identify trends or patterns.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, provide safeguarding advice, and prioritise client safety and dignity.
• Collaborate with managers to enhance service delivery, address performance issues, and support continuous improvement.
• Support with caseloads, conduct impact assessments, and provide comprehensive support to team members.
• Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and ongoing support for team members.

About You

Ideally, you will have experience in developing and maintaining partnerships within a multiagency framework, and knowledge of intersectionality, especially when working with vulnerable individuals and those experiencing trauma.

You will need to travel across the region to fulfil job responsibilities and develop your role. Flexibility is essential, as the job may require evening, weekend work, and occasional overnight stays.

You will need:

• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and its impact on victims and witnesses.
• Understanding of equal opportunities, diversity, inclusivity, safeguarding, and risk assessments.
• Awareness of confidentiality and safe working practices, including data protection.
• Experience in customer-focused, challenging environments.

About the role:

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Drive Data Team Manager and Senior Managers within the Drive Partnership to ensure data and reporting remains rigorous and robust, and informs recommendations across the Drive Programme and partners. You will do this by taking a lead role on the ongoing data collection, analysis, research design and delivery of our work across the Drive Programme workstreams.  The Senior Data Analyst will also act as a liaison between data teams within Respect and Safelives where there is identified workstreams that cross over. 

The Senior Data Analyst will manage the Drive Data Analysts to ensure high quality data collection, reporting, quality assurance, analysis, and maintenance of Drive programme data, including data collected via the projects Case Management Systems you will use data and information to influence policy and inform practitioners, commissioners, and government about the sector. This is a great opportunity to see our data and research inform and improve the response to domestic abuse. 

About you: 

• Experience of analysing and drawing meaning from large quantitative data sets, including the advanced use of Excel 
• Experience of developing and managing Case Management Systems and the reporting from the system 
• Excellent analysis skills with a strong ability to identify key themes in complex material, test interpretation and ensure that messages are relevant to practice and policy contexts
• Experience of effective line management of people with a diverse range of needs, expertise, backgrounds, and communication styles
• Confident communicating clear practice and policy implications from data and evidence and presenting them in a range of formats to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
