Job description

ACF is the membership body for UK foundations and grant-making charities. We are looking for an excellent marketing and communications professional to fill a new role in our small team. 

Driven by a belief that foundations are a vital source for social good, our mission is to support UK foundations to be ambitious and effective in the way that they use their resources. We do this through the provision of policy and advocacy, research and information, and a wide-ranging programme of events and learning. Our 380 members collectively hold assets of around £50bn and give over £2.5bn annually.

About the role

We are looking for an excellent marketing and communications professional to join our small team. This is a new role with huge potential to improve our reach and impact at an exciting time for our sector and charity. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you’ll have the opportunity to shape communications for our membership, events, products and projects.

What you’ll do

Working with the Director of Membership and other senior colleagues you’ll lead the development of audience insight to support ACF in developing a deeper understanding of the profile and motivations of our key stakeholders and customers.

You’ll work with senior colleagues to develop marketing and communications plans across our programmes of work with targeted content that supports our mission.

In 2020 we have ambitious plans to recruit more members, grow our partnerships and deliver a bigger and better annual conference. You’ll be pivotal to our success.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be comfortable juggling multiple priorities and competing demands. You’ll be a fantastic communicator that thrives collaborating with and supporting colleagues to embrace new ways maximise our reach and impact.

You’ll have a strong track record of marketing and communications and a good understanding of communications good practice.

You’ll have sound knowledge of email marketing platforms and content management systems as well as a creative flair and an eye for good design.
