This is an exciting time to join Settle as we look to invest in and grow our fundraising and development capabilities. As Trust and Foundation Fundraising Manager, you’ll be working to generate income which will enable Settle to expand its reach, achieve its strategic goals and, ultimately, make a real difference to the amazing young people we serve.
You’ll work closely with our senior leadership and support team to help deliver our fundraising strategy. Reporting directly to our Head of Fundraising, you’ll lead on writing grant applications, reporting to funders, managing our prospects pipeline and developing and nurturing long-lasting and rewarding relationships with Trust and Foundation funders.
As a potential candidate, you’ll bring at least two years of grant-writing experience to the role and a strong track record of securing 5-6 figure sums. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to step up to a managerial role, or someone already established at that level.

Main responsibilities
- You will build on the excellent foundations laid by the outgoing Community Fundraiser to raise our profile amongst our neighbours and with local organisations
- You will proactively recruit new supporters, build our individual supporter base and develop regular stewardship and communications
- You will offer high-quality relationship management and donor care to supporters including providing fundraising materials, encouragement and support to maximise their fundraising potential, as well as ensuring donors are recognised and thanked for their contribution
- You will develop and deliver fundraising operational plans, ensure good fundraising practice and messaging is embedded throughout the entire organisation.

About the role
Working within our small, dynamic staff team, this role will primarily provide support to the Executive Director in the following areas: communicating the work of the foundation to key stakeholders; lead on and maintaining relationships with trade union groups; driving forward our community grants programme, demonstrating the policy, research and campaign impact of the foundation; general strategic and managerial deputisation.
The role would suit a communications or programmes specialist who is comfortable working flexibly across a number of briefs as befits a small and adaptable organisation. A successful candidate will need to demonstrate an affinity with, and understanding of, the work of the foundation, a flair for messaging, both in print, digitally, and in terms of design, and an administrative and motivational rigour capable of driving forward multiple grant-making programmes with complex timelines.
The role can be either home or office based, but candidates must be willing to spend at least three days a month in our London office.

Responsibilities:
HR & Operations
● Manage Coney’s operations, resources and materials to ensure our activities and processes are high-quality, fit for purpose and well-managed.
● Support the Directors to engender positive staff relations and good communication throughout the company, those representing it and its networks.
● Oversee Coney’s remote-working and office systems, including IT systems, schedules and other resources, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and cost-effective.
● Manage Coney’s statutory obligations with Companies House, the Charities Commission and other bodies and regulatory authorities, with support from the Directors.
● Maintain regular communication with Coney’s Trustees, ensuring that Board meetings, minutes, reports and information are prepared effectively and on time.
Financial
● Manage Coney’s day-to-day financial systems, including making bank payments and managing invoices receivable, supported by the Marketing & Admin Officer.
● Reconcile Coney’s bank accounts and input all financial activity into Quickbooks (including income & expenditure, credit cards, expenses, invoices payable, payments received) against the correct budget lines.
● Run payroll (including sending payslips and other pay documents, scheduling salary payments and reporting to HMRC) and ensure pensions, PAYE taxes and National Insurance are calculated and paid on time.
● Create and submit quarterly VAT returns using Quickbooks
Stakeholder Management & Fundraising
● Work alongside the JCEOs to maintain high level contact and dialogue with Coney’s key stakeholders.
● Manage Coney’s Friends scheme and support effective communication with funders.
● Alongside the rest of the core team, identify opportunities for fundraising, commercial projects and consultancy, building relationships and contributing to funding proposals as required.
Marketing & Communications
● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer and Executive Programme Director / JCEO to prepare and execute a marketing and communications plan – strategically positioning Coney’s work across communities and sectors.
● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer to ensure regular communication with Coney networks (newsletters, social media and other relationships) and produce effective communication and ticketing systems for events and projects as required.

Location
We all work from home, however travel and overnight stays are required as part of the role. You'll attend around three symposia a year, which usually run from Mondays to Thursdays and are currently held in the Lake District. The biennial prizegiving ceremony is also held in London. It would be helpful if you had a full UK driving licence and access to your own car.

This is a new role at Wen, with a focus on building Wen's in-house media relations and story gathering capacity while also getting involved in all areas of communications, particularly social media. To help you settle into the role and support your development you will receive mentoring from a PR consultant.
Part of your role will be visiting Wen's projects and events to gather content, impact stories and case studies for use in the media and on our social media channels. It will also include leading on social media day-to-day, including at Wen events, so you will need experience of running multiple social media channels efficiently.
You will have an interest in Wen’s areas of work and have an understanding of gender, racial and social justice issues at a personal and political level. You will take an inclusive, intersectional feminist and anti-racist approach to your work. This will be vital for engaging on social media and creating stories and content aligned with Wen's values.
Key information
Salary - £35,284 FTE per annum, pro rata (Grade 3)
Contract - 4 days/28 hours per week, Permanent. Tuesday is a core working day for the majority of Wen staff.
Location - Hybrid working - One day a week at Wen office in Shoreditch and/or at Wen's local hub in Mile End, London, more in-person days required on an ad-hoc basis. Occasional travel may be required.

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.

Job Description
This role plays a key part in advancing the fundraising of Duchenne UK to enable more investment into research, advancing treatments and supporting the DMD community. A core part of this will be building relationships with key supporters, including our incredible Family and Friends Funds, corporate supporters and community of fundraisers.
You will be central to the development and delivery of key events and campaigns throughout the year to achieve ambitious fundraising targets. You will have budget management responsibilities and provide insight into activities to drive improvements and further success in future years.
The role will contribute to overall fundraising growth; ensuring the guiding engagement and fundraising principles are delivered, and that all fundraising delivers an exceptional and remarkable donor experience to which Duchenne UK prides itself.
Fundraising and business development

- Key relationship manager for Duchenne UK Family and Friends Funds, engaging them through fundraising, supporting third party events and providing regular project and charity updates
- Develop and implement the Family Fund and Community Fundraising stewardship strategy

- Lead the identification and development of new income sources with the support of the Fundraising team to increase donations, improve the profile of Duchenne UK and enhance our reputation within the donor community; including corporate partnerships, fundraising campaigns, third party activity, challenge events, regular giving and legacy
