The Baobab Centre works as a non-residential therapeutic community with young asylum seekers and refugees and we are looking for an exceptional candidate with at least two years' experience of working in a busy office environment.

As a member of our non-residential therapeutic community you will participate in the development of meaningful relationships and social learning, constructing a holistic therapeutic environment where all relationships with all members of the community matter.

You will have experience managing a small team, including line management duties. You will be a key part of our multi-professional team and will be responsible for the administrative management of clinical files and supporting the clinical team. The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all charitable income and expenditure, financial forecasting, producing management accounts, annual financial accounts, and maintaining effective control systems. The post holder will also have the opportunity to work on strategic projects such as developing our financial practice and policies, grant reconciliation and forecasting.

The successful candidate will have charity accounting experience and at least qualified by experience in charity accounting. In addition to the relevant technical skills, we are looking for someone who is committed to our mission, takes a proactive approach, is excited to support our responsive, dynamic organisation to develop and grow, and has excellent people skills to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues.

Whilst this is a remote role, some occasional travel (approx 6-10 times per year) to London and the South East for meetings and get togethers will be expected.

Key Responsibilities

Day to Day Financial transactions

Secretariat Duties

• Lead the relationship with the auditors, ensuring that the audit is delivered on schedule and all statutory filings are made on time.

• Complete quarterly VAT returns and Gift Aid returns.

Treasury

•  Lead in the management of bank accounts and deposits.

The salary is £38,000 FTE pro rata, for 21 hours per week, with 17 days annual leave including bank holidays.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for a dynamic finance professional, eager to make a difference. We need someone as keen to get stuck in with the day to day administrative aspects of the role, as with helping us lead the organisation through strategic planning and growth. 

You have experience in effectively managing finances in a charity setting and can manage your own time effectively with great motivation. You are able to communicate effectively with colleagues, requesting information and presenting findings in a clear and approachable manner. 

Ideally, you combine the professionalism of the corporate world with the heart of a grassroots movement, directly contributing to the impact of this fast-paced, responsive organisation.

Essential

• Sound knowledge and demonstrable experience of UK Charity SORP, charity sector financial practices and preparing statutory accounts

• Qualified by experience or part qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA 

• Experience of preparing and managing an audit process

• A critical eye for reviewing accounting transactions and ensuring accuracy

About the role 

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the Communications Officer supports the delivery of effective communications across the cycling industry and within Trust-led projects. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll contribute to a variety of initiatives, with a particular focus on maintaining and developing The Bikeability Trust’s industry website and newsletters for stakeholders and partners.

This varied role involves management of L&W’s digital communications, press and media work, stakeholder relations and events throughout the year. The Development Manager will play a pivotal role in strengthening and sustaining the Foodbank's impact. You will lead fundraising efforts, cultivate key partnerships, oversee communications, and help support long-term organisational sustainability.

You will have a proven track record of growing income and building relationships with funders to achieve and exceed annual income targets and KPI’s. And you will have the capacity to create and craft compelling communications that successfully engage and attract donations.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Income Generation

●Develop and implement a fundraising strategy (grants, trusts, individual giving, corporate partnerships, community fundraising).

●Research, write, and manage funding applications and grant reporting.

●Build and maintain relationships with funders, donors, and partners to secure and grow income streams, ensuring they receive excellent stewardship, timely reporting and doing all you can to maximise potential for further funding.

●Work collaboratively with other Trussell food banks, participate in the Trussell network of fundraisers, proactively take advantage of any skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.

●Work with the treasurer to identify fundraising priorities, develop fundraising budgets and make informed projections regarding future income.

●Generate content to promote the work of the food bank and encourage donations through social media, regular newsletters and contact with corporate Volunteers.
 

Partnership Development

●Identify and nurture partnerships with local businesses, charities, schools, faith groups, and community organisations.

●Develop corporate volunteering at the foodbank, alongside the Volunteering Manager, and develop income from corporate partners.

●Represent the Foodbank at local events and meetings to build visibility and strategic relationships.
 

Communications & Engagement

●Manage and widen the Foodbank’s public profile through social media, newsletters, campaigns, and the website.

●Develop engaging content that tells the story of the Foodbank’s impact and encourages support.

●Coordinate media relations where necessary.

●Act as brand guardian, ensuring all communications are consistent with the Kensington & Chelsea Foodbank’s values, tone, and visual identity, and in line with Trussell’s new brand.
 

Strategic Planning & Organisational Development

●Be part of the leadership team, along with the board of trustees, that delivers the Foodbank’s strategic goals.

●Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), helping to evaluate programme impact and effectiveness.

●Contribute to long-term sustainability and capacity-building plans.

●Perform other tasks as requested by trustees.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Communications and Events Coordinator lead the development and delivery of Khulisa’s communications strategy and key campaigns, designed to engage our supporters, stakeholders, and the wider UK public.

About Khulisa: 

Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.

Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we also work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester. 

About the role: 

This role will be a key part of helping to raise awareness of Khulisa’s mission and the issues we address, strengthening support for our programmes. The postholders will also take ownership of planning and delivering all Khulisa events, ensuring they are impactful and well-executed.

• Develop and deliver Khulisa’s Communications and Branding Strategy in line with the strategic plan.
• Lead public engagement campaigns to raise awareness, promote youth voice, and drive participation.
• Plan and manage events, including fundraising and challenge events, from concept to delivery.
• Create and manage digital content across social media, website, newsletters, and other channels.
• Recruit and supervise volunteers to support communications and event-related activities.

The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations across the London and the North West as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.
