IRW’s Office of the General Counsel Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Policy Coordinator’ to join its dynamic team. The organisation is currently operating a hybrid working model.

Job purpose:

With increasing accountability to our regulators, partners, institutional and community donors, it is essential that we have robust and effective policies and processes in place that are regularly reviewed and demonstrate the learning and growth of the organisation and holding ourselves to account both internally and externally. Our policies and internal protocols must reflect good practice within the INGO sector, adapt to advances in technology and frequent changes to legislation and regulatory requirements. Our commitment to developing our internal policies, protocols and processes illustrates how our organisation proactively manages and oversees the potential risks and requirements we must address on a daily basis in a structured way.  Our aim is to foster an environment of consistency in our working practices that increases confidence in the way we manage our operations and workforce.

This post will provide leadership for the highest possible quality and consistency of Operational Policy and Guideline Documents meeting rigorous international sector-relevant and ethical standards to help achieve our vision, mission, global strategy and year-to-year objectives.

The role will support the Policy and Compliance Manager by co-ordinating and leading in the development and improvement of our current internal processes to ensure the timely review, development and approval of our policy documents and providing appropriate technical and operational support to internal stakeholders and wider IR family.

The role will provide technical and administrative support to the Policy Review Committee and help maintain internal record keeping and associated resources.

The successful candidate must have:

• A degree or equivalent in English or relevant area

Main areas of responsibility, but not limited to:

Fundraising:

• Support income generation from a specific portfolio of high net worth individuals ‘Major Donors and Major Donor Prospects’
• Support delivery of the Major Donor mailing cycles and bespoke mailings including editing, data, printing and sorting.
• Ensure all donations are thanked and acknowledged in a professional and timely manner via relevant channels and by appropriate staff.

About the role: 

• Lead on the coordination and delivery of the service’s prevention, early intervention, targeted education offers, and youth settings.
• To increase visibility and accessibility of the service amongst children, young people, families, and partners with the aim of increasing referrals into service for specialist support.

The Role

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Manager, you be responsible for generating and maximising income related to community supporter led events and initiatives.  

The person will: 

· Provide excellent stewardship, on-going support and motivation to supporters organising their own ‘in aid of’ Leeds Hospitals Charity fundraising and those taking part in ‘own place’ events.

· Identify, establish, and manage new fundraising volunteer groups who will help support the charity through their own fundraising and contacts including volunteers who will support the community fundraising function.

· Work alongside other fundraising colleagues across the charity to help deliver team income streams (e.g. hospital fundraising, legacies, individual giving, events).

· Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure supporter led events receive adequate PR coverage and are planned into the charity’s communications calendar.

The successful candidate will have:

· Good communication and presentation skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.

· Ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload.

· It is desirable, but not essential to have experience of stewarding charity supporters and volunteer fundraising groups or similar.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide operational leadership and oversight of the Carers Manchester Volunteer Programme and support the wider development of the Volunteer Programme at Gaddum. The Volunteer Coordinator will work with Carers Manchester colleagues to ensure volunteers feel equipped and supported to use their skills and lived experience in a range of established volunteer roles.

They will also work with the team to develop and recruit volunteers for new roles that support Carers Manchester to deliver on its aims and objectives. The role will involve maintaining close working relationships with our Central Team, Health & Safety systems, and compliance responsibilities. 

All staff are expected to work within all Gaddum policies and procedures. This role is subject to a basic DBS check.

As Fundraising Grants Officer, you’ll play a vital role in securing funding from a variety of sources. Sitting within the Philanthropy team, you will contribute directly to our ambitious income targets by identifying and applying for grants and funding opportunities.

You’ll have excellent writing skills with an innate understanding of how effective verbal communication and writing skills can influence people’s decisions. This role offers the unique chance to gain hands-on experience in writing compelling grant applications, while also developing broader fundraising skills across trusts and foundations, major gifts, and corporate partnerships. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow in a dynamic and supportive team.

Drawing on your experience in fundraising, grant applications, grant-giving, or grant management you’ll play a key role in supporting our mission. This is an opportunity to grow professionally while making a meaningful contribution to our goal of advancing human health through medical research.

We will offer a salary of between £29,000 and £34,000 depending on experience for a 36-hour week. Ideally you will be a full-time employee but we are happy to consider a part-time contract (min 0.8 FTE). This post will be offered as a permanent contract.

We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission, so you will be based at our central London office for a minimum of three days a week (usually Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option to work remotely for the remainder.
