One in three students leave school each year without a pass in GCSE English and maths - this rises to over one in two for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Without GCSEs in English and maths, these young people are significantly more likely to drop out of education and are locked out of key professions, apprenticeships, and university courses.

Get Further exists to change this. Our charity has an award-winning tuition programme that helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds in further education to pass GCSEs in English or maths. We place highly qualified, specialist English and maths tutors in further education, who deliver a bespoke curriculum that builds confidence and skills in these core subjects.

THE ROLE

The Senior Data and Insights Officer will help us to demonstrate the importance of our tuition for young people and adults who are undertaking these foundational qualifications.

You will have strong attention-to-detail and will make sure our data is relevant, accurate and confidential. You will be skilled in data analysis and interpretation: able to draw out insights from data and be confident in writing – and communicating – impact for a variety of purposes and audiences. 

As the Senior Data and Insights Officer you will work with the Director of Impact, within our Quality and Impact Team to:

Database Usage and Reporting  

• Support our Salesforce Lead in creating reports and dashboards, ensuring all data is relevant, accurate and secure.
• Use our database management system to generate reports and data analysis for the Senior Leadership Team, and other internal colleagues, to support marketing campaigns, fundraising campaigns, statutory information requests and organisational insight.
• Prepare reports for college partners, funders, and the Board, which set out our data, findings and impact, clearly and accurately. 
• • Confidently write about insights and findings from our data, generating learnings and recommendations for the organisation and other stakeholders.

Internal and External Evaluations

• Support the Director of Impact in developing assessment frameworks to robustly measure our impact and designing dissemination plans, to best harness and communicate that impact. 
• Oversee and implement internal evaluation activity, for example, finalising student surveys, focus group and interview tools. 
• Review and enhance data collection tools, process, analysis, and reporting. 
• Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of our evaluation data; and use the data to make recommendations to improve programme quality. 
• Review and keep abreast of literature and research in the further education, wider education, tuition and research landscape. You will share and apply learnings to our evaluation processes and programme delivery. 
• Manage large research projects with external evaluators.

Policy, Compliance & Quality Assurance 

• Support our ongoing compliance with GDPR across the organisation, as well as upholding our safeguarding frameworks.
• Implement policies and procedures relating to GDPR and ensure those policies are adhered to across the organisation. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL 

• Commitment to Get Further’s mission and values, including passionate about tackling educational inequality.
• Familiarity with database systems, like Salesforce (or able and interested in learning to use a database management system).
• Skilled in data analysis: able to use complex data to produce accurate, insightful and engaging findings and recommendations. 
• Research experience e.g. designing qualitative and quantitative instruments, survey design, knowledge of research designs (QED, RCT), ethical considerations, participatory research.
• IT skills e.g. MS Office (Word and Excel) and also data analytics software like Tableau and PowerBi.
• Project management experience: excellent at planning and managing projects, tracking key deliverables, overseeing budgets and financial controls. 
• Knowledge of GDPR requirements, policies, processes and organisational compliance. 
• Strong attention to detail, prioritises precision and accuracy. 
• Problem-solver: enjoys troubleshooting and demonstrates a ‘solution-oriented’ approach. 
• Excellent communication skills (including written and verbal skills).
• Excellent interpersonal skills: is proactive, enthusiastic, resilient and supportive team member.

DESIRABLE

• Familiarity with the FE sector.

As our Senior Research & Participation Officer, you will be working on an exciting new project to improve primary care access for residents. Your flair for planning and logistics will enable you to both gather evidence about the experiences of Barnet residents, and to collate existing data. You’ll also be comfortable producing accessible how-to guidance, to enable people experiencing health inequalities to access services.

The role will involve building effective relationships with stakeholders including GP Practice Managers, voluntary sector organisations and NHS Integrated Care Board partners. You will work with these stakeholders constructively and persuasively, to seed partnership initiatives and achieve positive change for Barnet residents.

About the PVRI
We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) - a serious condition that can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting, and light-headedness. PVD can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood.

Our aim is to improve clinical care, education, and PVD research. To do this, we bring together an international network of thousands of clinicians, scientists, academics, and industry partners supported by our small team based in Bermondsey, London. Together, we deliver conferences, e-learning, and an academic journal, raise awareness of PVD, and encourage collaboration in research.

We are seeking a Marketing Officer to help grow and service the charity's international membership, increase the value of our membership offer, increase our income, and deliver our e-learning programmes. You’ll help ensure our members are informed about the latest developments and learning opportunities, and they’re valued for their contributions to the PVRI. No two days are the same. One day, you might be writing content for our website and social media channels, and the next, you might be welcoming respected speakers and attendees from over 30 countries to our scientific webinar.

We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. You’ll need to create successful marketing plans and grow our membership. You will also bring excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate high-quality webinars.

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness.  About the role:

We would love to hear from anyone with experience and enthusiasm for training and working in mental health. The Training Officer role is pivotal for the recruitment and training of all our volunteers, who go on to support people affected by mental illness on our helpline or text services.

You will be part of the training delivery team that recruits and trains new volunteers for our out of hours mental health specialist helpline. You will provide support to the Training Manager by responding to volunteer emails and communications, preparing and updating the training material as required and taking active part in recruitment and development of SANE volunteers in line with agreed targets. We Are Hiring: Fellowship Officer - The Learned Society of Wales

Are you looking for a role that combines your excellent interpersonal skills with your organisational and project management expertise? We are looking for someone who is highly organised with excellent communication skills – able to effectively run and improve an established process at the same time as developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.

The Learned Society of Wales is a young and welcoming organisation with a progressive and ambitious strategy which supports and promotes a Fellowship of experts and leaders. Our Fellowship Officer is responsible for the annual election process that elects the new Fellows each year and for managing relationships with those Fellows once elected.

In this role, you would follow governance processes and guidelines to ensure transparency and fairness of a rigorous process whilst also identifying opportunities to improve and develop it each year. You would develop strong working relationships with Fellows who are key stakeholders across Wales’ political, public and academic life. Working alongside the Strategic Engagement Manager, you would also support ways to improve our engagement with Fellows and involve them in our work.

The Ogden Trust is recruiting for a Programme Officer to support the delivery of our informal science learning programmes across England, working with universities and employers.

The Ogden Trust is a charitable Trust, supporting the teaching and learning of physics.  The Trust supports a range of initiatives, programmes and projects to promote the teaching and learning of physics.

The Programme Officer will report to the Programme Manager for the Opportunities for All strand of the Ogden strategy, which includes our work with universities to support physics outreach and public engagement and physics-related internships for 16-18-year-olds. They will manage the administrative and reporting side of the programmes, and organise related events.

Who we are looking for

You will need to have a good understanding of the informal science learning landscape and higher education in England and an interest in physics in particular. You must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with outreach professionals, academics and employers in physics-related sectors.

An excellent team player, you will have experience of working in programme administration and events organisation, with strong communication and organisational skills. A track record of building successful working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, particularly higher education and industry and the ability to work on your own initiative are valuable.
