About the role

AMRC exists to support our members to be as effective as possible as they find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat disease. The Research Funding Officer will focus on developing guidance, advice and training to support our members to fund research well across the research pipeline. You will help to showcase good practice across the sector and analyse new developments in funding policy and practice, helping to keep our members up-to-date and on the front foot. You will have a key role in ensuring we maintain high standards and AMRC’s kitemark of quality, which gives credibility to donors and partners.

About You  

Do you want to lead the field in the development of private investment into nature’s recovery? 

Fundamentally, you will have worked at a senior level as a Managing Director/CEO and have financial investment and commercial leadership experience that translates into strong awareness and understanding of financial investment markets and how these financial mechanisms can be used to drive large-scale investment, in this case into a green finance vehicle(s) for the Wildlife Trusts. We need you to translate that experience into solutions that scale up nature’s recovery, by developing realisable business propositions that create revenues from corporate sales of nature-based services such as biodiversity net gain credits or voluntary carbon credits amongst many other possible services. 

An innovative problem-solver with an entrepreneurial spirit, you will need to develop compelling and practical commercial strategies which can be successfully delivered within the Wildlife Trust Federation. As such you will be a great communicator, with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, size, scale, and activities of the 46 Wildlife Trusts.

Your role will be to truly listen, identify what matters most to the individual, and help them take practical steps towards better health, independence and wellbeing.

About the Role

This is a dual-role position supporting both the Finance and HR functions of the charity. · Post transactions into our accounting software, Xero, ensuring that everything is accurately recorded and coded.

· Process and record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, card payments and expenses, and organise a twice- monthly pay run.

· Complete the quarterly gift aid claims.

· Support the Head of Finance and Resources with the completion of the monthly management accounts, financial reporting and budgeting.

HR

· Maintain up-to-date employee records and keep our HR Information System (Breathe HR) up to date.

Flexibility

Our staff who live in or near London operate on a hybrid model, working in our office within South Bank University (one minute from Elephant and Castle tube station) on Mondays and Tuesdays. Full-time staff work in the office both those days and at home the rest of the week, while part-time staff who live in or near London are required to work in the office on one of those days, and at home for the rest of the week. We also have staff outside London who are fully home-based. We would ideally like the Finance and HR Officer to work in the London office on either Monday or Tuesday (or both if they would prefer that) but we are flexible as to when in the week the remainder of the hours are worked, provided that there is a consistent working pattern each week.

A great opportunity has risen for a Trusts Officer to support our ambitious 5-year strategy by building relationships with Trusts + Foundations, engaging new supporters with our cause and ensuring existing supporters receive first-class stewardship.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

You will take ownership of your own portfolio of Trusts + Foundations with the capacity to donate up to £10k, leading on all stages of the cultivation cycle from prospect identification to stewardship to retain existing supporters and generate new business. Proactive and tenacious, you will enjoy building relationships with funders via phone and email, using this insight to craft compelling and inspiring proposals and update reports which match funder interests.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You will be organised, creative, and able to manage competing deadlines across a varied portfolio. You will have robust IT skills, with experience of using a CRM system to update and maintain accurate donor records.

There is significant scope to make your mark on this role, working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues across the organisation to drive income across our research, services and policy work and develop your own relationship management and grant management skills.

To be the owner and primary point of contact for FBC’s health policy and campaigning activities, working closely with the CEO to represent the interests of the charity with decision-making bodies such as UK government and Parliament, NHS, devolved health and social care bodies and other stakeholders.  The postholder will Influence key decision makers, collaborate in initiatives and comment on policy decisions to press for higher levels of research funding, organisational changes to drive earlier diagnosis and improvements in patient experience.

The post holder will have the ability to meld impactful campaigning, political astuteness and evidence-based policymaking to drive change with demonstrable sensitivity to health inequalities and other issues that affect bladder cancer patients and their families.

They will be organised and will be able to manage several tasks at once, meeting strict deadlines.

Full-time: 32 hours per week over four or five days.

The World Hepatitis Alliance is an international NGO, representing over 400 civil society and patient organisation members in over 120 countries. We are committed to eliminating viral hepatitis, a devastating disease that affects more than 300 million people and is now the second most deadly infectious disease in the world.

Our current partners are mostly global corporate funders, along with several private foundations, and most support is given through bespoke partnerships, sponsorship and grants. We have diversified the base of funding substantially, introduced new funding models, and identified new funding opportunities, including working with partners to respond to global donor or institutional funding.

We are looking for a confident relationship-building who thrives on identifying new opportunities and developing long-term partnerships to help build on this momentum.

Duties and key responsibilities:

• Together with the Director of Partnerships & Resources, you will support the implementation of the fundraising strategy, deliver activity plans and achieve income targets in line with organisational funding priorities.
• Maintain and develop relationships with some existing partners. 
• Proactively research and engage potential new partners and opportunities, which could include corporate partnerships, grant writing and sponsorship.
• Support on the delivery of sponsorship packages for campaigns and the World Hepatitis Summit – a bi-annual event hosted by the World Hepatitis Alliance.
• Support on the management of WHA’s annual corporate membership scheme
• Undertake your own projects such as the development of presentations, resources, newsletters or tools to support engagement with donors, working with programmes and communications colleagues, or support on wider organisational projects.
• Support the Director of Partnerships & Resources to deliver donor stewardship.
• Manage CRM database and provide administrative support across fundraising as needed.

The World Hepatitis Alliance is a small team who work closely together to deliver a wide range of programmes, activities, campaigns and communications. There may be opportunities to support on projects led by other teams and plenty of scope to develop the fundraising and partnerships function within this role as the team grows.

About you:

We are looking for a confident fundraiser who thrives on developing new opportunities and is self-motivated and pro-active.

We would like you to have at least three years’ experience in fundraising with corporates and/or trusts and foundations, or have demonstrable transferable skills, particularly around networking/new business and writing proposals. We would also like you to demonstrate skills in delivering presentations, managing data or supporter journeys, and it would be ideal if you had experience of working in, or a personal interest in, global health or infectious diseases.

We are also looking for someone who can work under pressure to meet deadlines while also having an eye for detail and desire to maintain high standards. Someone who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. We work quite flexibly, and sometimes with partners all over the world so there may be a call or two outside of working hours. There may also be the opportunity to travel occasionally.

The Events Officer is a pivotal member of the Events HQ team, responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse portfolio of events as outlined in the Events HQ roadmap. This includes providing expert consultancy to the wider organisation, ensuring a unified and professional approach to all event activities.

Collaborating with specialists across the charity and the Brand and Marketing directorate, you will support the development and maintenance of logistical and administrative frameworks that enable successful event delivery. By leveraging your expertise, you will help create events that inspire action and align with the charity’s strategic outcomes.

What's the role about?

Working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, you will play a critical role in delivering audience-focused events that engage supporters, members, and stakeholders. This includes high-value cultivation events, engagement initiatives, and webinars. You'll work closely with the Events HQ team to develop comprehensive project plans, conduct thorough risk assessments, and ensure seamless on-the-day logistics, guaranteeing a high-quality experience for all participants.

A key aspect of the role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, external specialists, suppliers, and partners. You will act as a key liaison for speakers, providing necessary briefing materials and training, especially for online event delivery. Your ability to inspire and engage others is essential to the successful execution of events.

The role demands significant expertise in event logistics, from initial planning and risk management to live event operations. You will be a strong project manager, adept at handling both proactive and reactive tasks with a solutions-focused approach. You'll be skilled in using databases and CRM systems to manage relationships, as well as tools for budget and supplier management, ensuring the efficient allocation and oversight of resources.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Demonstrable experience of supporting and leading on elements of events of varying sizes - including events for over 1,000 people, including high-value cultivation events, engagement events, and webinars.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience of delivering online events to over 500 attendees, including live polling, panel discussion and working with production companies

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience in managing and prioritising multiple objectives, workstreams and communication priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Comprehensive understanding of event logistics, including risk assessment and health and safety considerations.
• Knowledge of marketing and communications strategies related to event promotion and audience engagement.

Additional information:

As part of event delivery there will be some evening and weekend working, including late night/early hours set up occasionally.
