The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a new strategy from scratch and to then lead on implementation.The Senior Comms and Public Affairs will manage external communications across all mediums and platforms for the Foundation ensuring our messages are clear, consistent and reflective of the Foundation’s charitable objects and values.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a blend of communications and media experience who can push forward a union-led strategic communications agenda, and who can also enhance the ITF’s position in the media as the global voice of transport workers. This hands-on role will span communications and media work across the ITF.

You will be part of a team delivering solidarity and support to local, national and global disputes, building communications that reinforce the critical role of transport workers around the world, developing strategies to support union-led policies on everything from health and safety to sustainability, and raising the volume on the global struggle to advance the rights of transport workers everywhere.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this role will work collaboratively to implement communications strategies for the ITF’s industrial work programmes and their priority campaigns. The role will include targeting diverse audiences including transport workers, employers, media, policy makers and political leaders. The role will also play a crucial role in ensuring that industrial priorities and issues are reflected and integrated in organisation-wide communications.

The Communications and Press Officer will lead on the implementation of the ITF’s global media strategy: the role is pivotal to securing media coverage that raises awareness of the work and priorities of the ITF internationally, across broadcast, print, online media and trade press, while also monitoring the media coverage we gain, evaluating impact and providing insights to help shape future media work.

The role will also be central to developing communications content across the ITF’s industrial sections, from website news stories to in-depth reports and communications support for ITF conferences, meetings and other events: you will need to be able to develop expert knowledge of policy and industrial issues facing transport workers, and effectively interpret and analyse issues and challenges and translate them into compelling and engaging communications outputs.

About the team

The role of the ITF Communications Team is to elevate our work on global issues and drive collective action to improve the rights of all transport workers.

The Communications Department leads strategic thinking around communications across the ITF’s industrial sections, global regions and key areas of focus, including women and young transport workers, sustainability, health and safety, the future of work and supply chain accountability. The scope is vast.

You’ll join a team committed to using its skills and knowledge to push the envelope for worker and people-driven change ― working to advance the ITF’s current strategic directions:

• To grow and activate our membership.

This is an exciting senior position for an exceptional digital communications manager who wants to work for a high-impact campaigning NGO. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and grow the digital channels of one of the UK’s leading rights NGOs. We’re looking for someone with a vision to help take our digital reach to the next level, whilst respecting supporters’ privacy.

Big Brother Watch is a leading voice in the UK protecting privacy and free speech, and has a strong track record of successful campaigns that defend civil liberties in the UK. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Director and Head of Advocacy to build campaigns that respond to pressing threats to our freedoms. You’ll devise strategies to run successful digital campaigns including mass mobilisation; you’ll curate the supporter journey for our network of 100,000 email subscribers; you’ll manage and produce highly engaging content including long and short form videos and graphics for our social media channels; and you’ll lead our digital fundraising.

About you

The right candidate will have strong experience in a similar role and a proven track record in social media management, content/video production and digital fundraising.

You’ll have experience working across a range of digital channels, including social media and video, website CMS, and email marketing platforms such as MailChimp. As Head of Fundraising & Communications, you will:

About the Role

The Senior Communications & PR Manager will lead all internal and external communications for Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance. The role is responsible for protecting and enhancing LNAA’s reputation, delivering clear and compelling storytelling, and maximising visibility across media, digital platforms and key stakeholder networks. Through strategic planning, strong leadership and creative communication, the postholder will engage staff, volunteers and supporters, secure positive media coverage, and support fundraising and organisational priorities.

Location: Liberation centre Brixton, London (New office in Brixton)/ Remote working within the UK with at least 2 days’ work from our office (Pro rata for part time)

The Advocacy Academy is an activist youth movement. We serve as the political home for grassroots youth organising and the catalyst for collective action. The lives of the young people we work alongside have been directly shaped by living in an unjust world, and we exist to turn their anger into action and change.

Young people are often the catalysts for major social change, from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee at the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, to the Soweto Uprising mobilising young people to resist the apartheid regime's education policies, to the Sunrise Movement redrawing the electoral map across America, and more recently protests across the world protesting the genocide in Palestine. How successfully they achieve real and lasting change depends on whether they are organised and whether they have the right strategy and tactics to be effective.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In a context of the rise of the far right, increasing inequality, and climate disaster, The Advocacy Academy is growing to meet this moment. As part of this, we are expanding our Organising and Campaigns Team, including recruiting an experienced Digital Organiser.

This person will lead the design and implementation of an ambitious digital organising approach, including building out our base online and supporting campaigns to amplify our message and deliver the tangible wins we are pushing for. The work will be supported by up to five of our ‘changemakers’ - young people who will be paid to support our digital organising alongside their other work or study.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Oversee and deliver a Digital Organising Strategy within TAA, including but not limited to:

• Working with the SLT to set the strategic objectives and direction of your area of responsibility in relation to the broader growth of the organisation, ensuring appropriate resources, KPIs and relevant tools are in place to assess progress and make judgements on priorities. 
• Taking the lead on decision-making and problem-solving for all considerations relating to the area of responsibility, working with your department director and SLT around overlapping projects.

2. Lead on TAA’s digital organising approach, implementing online strategies as part of our campaigns, growing our membership, supporting our fundraising and building the systems needed to support these initiatives, including but not limited to:

• Leading the development and implementation of digital organising strategies as part of our youth-led organising campaigns, and support members and wider supporters to take action to deliver material change on issues that matter to our membership.
• Leading the development and implementation of digital strategies to deliver membership growth, working alongside colleagues to track and achieve key target numbers. 
• Leading the development and implementation of online member journeys, from initial touch points with TAA through to leaders of our youth movement.
• Ensuring the right digital platforms and technology (including website, WhatsApp, CRM, email, social media) are used to facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of key objectives
• Supporting the crafting and implementation of campaign messaging and content to support our campaign aims.

3. Lead on TAA’s communications, storytelling and engagement work, ensuring we have a clear, consistent and effective narrative that reaches people, including but not limited to:

• Leading the strategic direction of TAA’s storytelling work, ensuring narrative change is embedded across the programme and rooted in the lived experience, values, and leadership of our communities.
• Coordinating the distributed communications efforts by different teams, ensuring consistent, high-quality outputs across all channels.
• Overseeing the development and delivery of multimedia content that shifts public understanding and showcases the impact of youth organising.
• Providing editorial oversight and creative leadership to ensure our digital storytelling is coherent, compelling, values-aligned, and responsive to the external environment.

4. Support our members to learn and grow as digital organisers in their own right, including but not limited to:

• Proactively build relationships with our members and grow our membership, through holding regular 1:1s and relational meetings that strengthen campaigns but more importantly help them to identify and act on their developing political interests and to plug them into relevant opportunities for growth at TAA and our wider networks.
• Hold a list of members that you are the relationship lead for, developing and delivering a live learning plan with many of them, supporting them to become powerful organisers.
• Work closely with the Programmes and Community teams to set trajectories and expectations for a young person’s campaigning and organising journey, their starting point coming into TAA, and the training and support they need.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings, holding space effectively and designing and delivering creative learning journeys for young people.

5. Be a key member of the Organising and Campaigns Team, including but not limited to:

• Support efforts to set the strategic direction and priorities for the Organising and Campaigns Team each financial year.
• Proactively develop an interest in the impact of political, socio-economic and sector specific changes that could impact the HOST Programme, department and TAA in general.
• Support the Director of Organising and Campaigns and Head of Organising and Campaigns with the management and mitigation of organisational risks presented by the Programme by escalating issues in a timely manner and supporting them with problem solving.

This role is central to how RLSS UK educates, influences, and protects communities across the UK and Ireland.

ROLE OVERVIEW

From honing our campaign strategy to sparking collaborations with external organisations and delivering creative and engaging content, you’ll be a key player in shaping how RLSS UK and our work are seen by the public and partners.

You will lead the development and delivery of impactful, insight-driven campaigns that increase public awareness of both RLSS UK and the importance of water safety, share the skills and knowledge needed to prevent drowning, and engage and educate diverse audiences to amplify RLSS UK’s mission. Working closely with colleagues across marketing and communications, policy and public affairs, education, and membership, you will create compelling campaigns that inspire action, strengthen our brand presence, and educate.

You will collaborate with partners, members, stakeholders, supporters, and media outlets to ensure RLSS UK remains a trusted national voice in water safety. Through strategic storytelling, public mobilisation, and cross-channel campaign delivery, your work will help influence behaviours, shape understanding, and ultimately reduce accidental drownings.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Campaign Leadership

• Lead, develop, and deliver RLSS UK’s major national public campaigns, including:

- Drowning Prevention Week

- Don’t Drink and Drown

- Splash Safely at Home

- Project manage the end-to-end‑ delivery of multichannel campaigns (digital, print, PR, in-person events,‑ and partner channels).

• Ensure all campaigns are insight-led, supported by relevant data and evidence, designed to be inclusive and accessible, and effectively reach audiences at higher risk of drowning.
• Support public-facing communications for policy and public affairs, including web, email, and social channels.
• Contribute to organisation-wide planning, ensuring campaigns support fundraising, education, and membership goals where appropriate.
• Develop end‑to‑end campaign journeys for supporters, partners, and stakeholders who engage with or pledge support, to deepen involvement, encourage advocacy, and maximise long‑term impact.
• Work proactively across internal directorates to co‑create and deliver campaigns that maximise reach, effectiveness, and impact.
• Conduct audience and stakeholder mapping for each campaign to identify priority groups, collaboration opportunities, and the most effective channels, partners, and messengers to maximise reach and impact.
• Ensure every campaign has a documented project plan, agreed before launch, with defined objectives, timelines, roles, and KPIs.

Creative Development & Content

• Produce engaging, accessible, and inclusive content that resonates with diverse audiences and consistently adheres to RLSS UK brand guidelines.
• Lead creative development, case study sourcing, storytelling, celebrity/influencer engagement, and campaign assets.
• Drive user‑generated content as a core engagement strategy, encouraging partners, members, and the RLSS UK community to share stories, visuals, and experiences that support campaign objectives.

Partnerships & Collaboration

• Build strong partnerships with communities and organisations, including emergency services, sports bodies, youth groups, and local authorities, to amplify campaign reach and impact.
• Support the participation of people with lived experience in campaigns, including bereaved families, with care and tact, ensuring authentic and meaningful involvement.
• Proactively identify and develop new partnerships, influencer and celebrity relationships to expand the reach, engagement and impact of each major campaign.

Delivery & Campaign Operations

• Oversee campaign production schedules, asset development, and delivery across all channels.
• Maintain campaign budgets and align spending with goals.
• Develop and maintain campaign‑specific brand guidance to support consistent use of RLSS UK messaging, tone of voice, and visual identity across all channels and audiences.
• Create and manage campaign packs for partners that set clear requirements for the correct use of the RLSS UK name, assets, messaging, and attribution, ensuring consistent representation across all partner activity.
• Ensure all campaign activity is consistent with RLSS UK brand guidelines, inclusive and accessible, on-brand, compliant, and aligned with RLSS UK’s strategic priorities.
• Ensure all campaign materials are reviewed and approved in line with RLSS UK brand governance processes prior to public launch.
   

Evaluation & Reporting

• Set clear campaign KPIs and monitor performance using robust, insight-driven metrics.
• Provide regular reporting on campaign reach, engagement, outcomes, and contribution to reducing drowning risk.
• Complete post‑campaign evaluations within agreed timeframes, identifying clear, actionable recommendations to inform continuous improvement across future campaigns.
• Use campaign evaluations, performance data, and insight to drive measurable year‑on‑year improvement in campaign outcomes, applying learning consistently to improve reach, engagement, and impact.

What Skills and Experience do you need to be an Internal Communications Manager?

• Experience implementing and managing modern digital internal communications systems within complex or national organisations

• Proven experience leading and delivering internal communications strategies

• Expert confidence using Microsoft tools such as Teams, Viva Engage and SharePoint to drive engagement

• Demonstrated success managing internal communications through periods of organisational change

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and situations

In this role, you’ll work closely with key stakeholders to plan, implement, and evaluate marketing and communications strategies that drive engagement and impact. You’ll lead projects from brief to delivery, collaborating with our digital and design teams to create campaigns that truly resonate.

What will you be doing as Head of Communications and Engagement?

• Own YHA’s corporate narrative, tone of voice and organisation‑wide communications strategy

• Lead integrated internal and external communications that strengthen brand, impact and income growth through a period of strategic transformation.

• Develop and deliver strategic messaging to support YHA’s organisational transformation and long‑term objectives

• Champion communications best practice across the organisation, working closely with the marketing team, digital team and senior leaders

• Plan, coordinate and oversee corporate content, publications and communications scheduling across all channels

• Line manage the Internal Communications Manager

• Lead on media relations and press engagement, including external agency support and spokespeople

• Strengthen YHA’s external presence, reputation and profile as a national youth charity and social enterprise

• Lead stakeholder engagement, partnerships, policy influence and horizon scanning for emerging risks and opportunities

• Manage crisis communications strategy and process

• Steward and leverage YHA’s heritage and archives to support impactful storytelling ahead of the 100‑year anniversary

What Skills and Experience do you need?

• Experience in communications, with a proven track record of developing and delivering strategic, organisation‑wide communications in a complex national organisation

• Strong ability to shape and communicate clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences across multiple internal and external channels

• Demonstrable experience of leading media relations, PR campaigns, stakeholder engagement and reputation management, including crisis communications

• High‑level writing, editing and content‑planning skills, with a creative and audience‑focused approach

• Ability to interpret complex organisational information and translate it into engaging, accessible and inspiring communications

• Experience influencing and advising senior leaders, bringing authority, constructive challenge and a cross‑organisational perspective

• Proven ability to identify reputational risks, anticipate emerging issues and recommend strategic communications responses

• Experience building productive partnerships and relationships with senior stakeholders, partner organisations, public bodies and agencies

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines and find solutions under pressure
