About the role

Terms and Conditions
Salary: Pro-rated salary for 1 day per week, £7,000 to £9,500 per annum (£34,000 to £47,000 full time equivalent) depending on experience plus 3% pension contribution.
Hours: 1 day per week (7.5 hours). The working hours can be flexible.
Location: Home-working, ideally within the GUCE catchment area from Watford to Tring.
You will need to travel to meet stakeholders, attend relevant meetings and visit potential sites. You may be called upon to work outside office hours.
Contractual arrangements: 12 months fixed term with the opportunity to extend, subject to 3 months’ probation.
There is a notice period of four weeks from both sides

About the Role
As Advice Manager, you’ll take a strategic lead on developing our advice service to ensure it is accessible and high-quality, and also actively challenge the root causes of inequality. The Advice Manager will have wide ranging responsibilities for the performance, quality assurance and development of internal advice services and will be responsible for achieving and evidencing high quality positive outcomes for service users.
You will Manage our advice teams: Information Navigation, Benefits Advice, Money Advice and our benefits advice contract with South West London and St Georges. We also administer a number of grants on behalf of local grant giving charities and the local authority and you will manage the administration of these grant funds.
We currently have 14 advisors across our advice teams including 2 team leaders in our Information Navigation (general advice) and South West London and St Georges benefits advice team, it is currently 8 direct reports.

About you
You’re an experienced advice professional and a passionate advocate for social justice. Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to support the Governance and Events Team by undertaking events related operations for the 39th WAGGGS World Conference (taking place in June 2026), and any other WAGGGS events as needed.
The 39th WAGGGS World Conference is a four-day event that will take place in Cambodia in June 2026 in partnership with the host organisation, the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia. This is the main platform for decision-makers in our 153 Member Organisations to gather for networking, learning and consultation on the direction of the Movement. A pre-event for youth attendees under the age of 30 will take place before the conference.
About the Role:
This role operates within a volunteer-led global charitable organisation with 153 Member Organisations. It provides the inspiration, knowledge and direction to continually protect and enhance WAGGGS’ rich legacy and expand its collective reach and impact. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and attendees from across our Movement - each bringing their own unique perspectives and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:

Be responsible for maintaining the registration site and event website (using the events management software, Cvent) including individual event databases, providing reports as required and ensuring good communication with participants via email.

Provide administrative and logistical support for all aspects of online and in-person Event Management. This includes assisting volunteers and staff with registration and platform issues, and, if appropriate, travel arrangements and accommodation.

Ensure internal and external communications with Member Organisations, participants, staff members and volunteers and event suppliers are timely, relevant and of a high quality.

Undertake the processing of grants, invoices, staff and volunteer expenses and other related financial administration ensuring compliance with legislation and WAGGGS policies and guidelines.

Writing, designing, and sending event documents and communications on time. Proof-reading of the documents and communications before sending them.

The Events & Fundraising Manager will work at the heart of our public events programme, helping to organise fundraising walks and other events across London and the South East, and raising funds to support the provision of free legal advice. Our events include the London Legal Walk -- an annual event which raises over £1 million each year -- regional Legal Walk events, and other fundraising events such as the Great Legal Quiz and the Great Legal Bake.
