Dementia UK is looking for a Media and PR Assistant to join our Media and PR Team. This newly created role is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in PR, supporting the charity’s press office while helping to raise awareness of our services, clinical expertise and impact through the media.

No two days are the same in this fast-paced, reactive role. You'll support the day-to-day running of the press office, while taking ownership of key administrative processes and helping to coordinate storyteller, influencer and ambassador activity. You will support reactive and proactive media activity, monitor the news and media landscape, coordinate interviews, draft and proofread media materials, and produce media coverage reports. You'll have the opportunity to build your PR skills by supporting with pitching stories to journalists, developing media contacts, and contributing ideas to improve the way the team works.

You will have a keen interest in PR and communications, with some relevant experience of working within a communications or marketing environment and an understanding of national media, social media platforms and news consumption habits and trends. You are highly organised, detail-oriented and an excellent proof reader, with the confidence to spot errors and maintain high-quality work under tight deadlines. Agile and adaptable, you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, can prioritise competing demands, and are keen to learn, develop and contribute new ideas.
