Role Summary

Hours: Working hours are 9.30am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday

Communications at JB

This is the perfect time to join JB as Communications Lead. By the time this role starts we will be launching a new brand and website; with associated key messages and audience development priorities. All of this is currently in development with our partners at Greenhouse. This role will benefit from all that ground work and lead on all the communications to bring to life our new approach. The Role

We’re seeking a visionary and collaborative Communications Lead to lead the next phase of our communications strategy. This role is about more than messaging — it’s about shaping a compelling and inspiring public voice for creative climate action.

You will be responsible for our brand, storytelling, content strategy, and creative outputs—ensuring that everything we do reflects our values, amplifies our impact, and deepens our reach across the cultural and climate landscape. You’ll also play a key role in supporting our impact including welcoming new cultural organisations, creative practitioners, environmental partners, and funders into our network.

This is a digital-first communications role, with a strong focus on content development, storytelling, and designing varied communication campaigns. You’ll oversee our editorial voice across blogs, email, social media, and digital content. Alongside our Marketing Lead, you will ensure our insights, tools, and narratives are warm, purpose-focused, clear, accessible, and optimised for reach and engagement. You will be someone who thrives on the combination of ambitious strategic thinking and delivering content and projects on the ground. 

You will collaborate with partner organisations to co-create communications, support joint campaigns, and ensure our voice is visible and aligned in the broader climate and culture movement. And while press/media remains part of the role, your primary focus will be digital content, brand positioning, and reaching new audiences.

You will be part of a small Marketing and Communications team and work closely with the rest of JB’s 22-person, supportive and mission-driven team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and deliver an inclusive, digital-first communications strategy that positions Julie’s Bicycle as a cultural leader in climate action.
• Work with senior leadership to drive communications that support organisational growth, impact and fundraising, helping to expand our network and deepen engagement with the arts and cultural sector and the climate and environmental movement. 
• Embed climate justice and equity throughout our communications, ensuring our language, images, and stories reflect a diverse, accessible, and fair transition.
• Champion our core narrative: putting climate action at the heart of culture.

Brand, Creative & Campaigns

• Lead on brand implementation, ensuring coherence of messaging and tone across all channels and materials. 
• Deliver innovative and values-led communications campaigns in collaboration with partners and internal teams. Lead on key messaging, ensuring we are consistent and confident across all our channels.
• Take a data-led approach to maximise impact of our communications.
• Oversee design and creative production for campaigns, reports and digital content, (working alongside our Marketing Lead and with support from external designers/freelancers). 
• Ensure communications projects are managed on time and on budget.
• Develop and implement communications for newer target audiences in particular leaders and change-makers across the environmental sector.
• Collaborate with our Marketing Lead to co-develop mar/comms strategies for individual programmes and projects.

Content & Digital

• Develop engaging, inclusive content across web, blogs, newsletters and social media.
• Shape and oversee editorial calendars that reflect our programmes, partnerships, research, and events.
• Lead on our content management and storytelling strategy. 
• Ensure all content is optimised for audience growth, accessibility, and search (SEO), working closely with our Marketing Lead who leads on our overall web and SEO strategy.
• Support on the production of public reports and external briefing materials, ensuring appropriate tone and key messages.
• Manage internal and freelance team members producing social media content.

Partnerships & Profile

• Collaborate with cultural, environmental, and funding partners to co-create shared messaging, campaigns, and communications assets.
• Ensure JB’s story, voice, and impact are clearly represented in all collaborations and public-facing materials.
• Support JB’s role in coalitions and networks by developing communications that reflect collective aims and shared values.
• Work with the JB team to create and implement a strategy for public-facing thought leadership.

Media & External Relations

• Maintain relationships with relevant journalists and media outlets, responding to media opportunities that align with our strategy.
• Support the Director and other team members with media briefings and public communications as needed.
• When funded opportunities arise, lead liaison with external PR and media consultants. 

Team & Collaboration

• Support the management of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
• Work closely with all internal teams — partnership, consultancy, research, advocacy, programmes — to align messaging and amplify impact.
• Contribute to organisational learning, planning, and shared values.
• Support the implementation and day to day running of JB’s new CRM.
• With the Marketing Lead, strengthen internal editorial and brand sign off processes for all key content.
• Support impact measurement and communication of impact.

Person Specification

Essential

• Substantial experience in a senior communications role, ideally within the cultural, environmental, or non-profit sectors.
• Significant experience in designing and delivering successful communications strategies.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a track record of developing clear, creative, and inclusive content.
• Strong experience in campaign development, brand implementation, visual storytelling, and communications project management.
• Knowledge of content strategy, SEO, and audience engagement across digital platforms.
• Demonstrable ability to embed equity, diversity, and commitment to climate justice into communications practice.
• Collaborative and confident communicator with experience working across teams and with external partners.
• Strategic thinker with a commitment to Julie’s Bicycle’s mission and values.
• Strong design aesthetic and use of design skills (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud suite and Canva).
• Strong project management skills: the ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly across priorities in a fast-changing environment.
• Attention to detail and excellent proof reading.

• Familiarity with climate and/or cultural policy environments.

The National Lottery Community Fund has an exciting opportunity to recruit a Communications Assistant to join the newly restructured communications and engagement function, supporting in the delivery of our strategy, It Starts With Community.

The role is part of our ambitious transformation as we implement a significant pivot in our communications approach – building on our support for grant-making to demonstrate the powerful impact communities have in strengthening society and improving lives.

As Communications Assistant, you will help colleagues across the department raise the profile of The National Lottery Community Fund ensuring our operation runs smoothly, providing effective planning and administrative support across the organisation.

You will provide support to the communications and engagement function by contributing to campaigns, assisting with budget and procurement processes, and managing content flow and communication touchpoints for customers and grant holders. 

This role sits within the Communications Strategy team, a UK-wide team designed to develop insight-driven plans for missions and developing portfolio key messages and campaigns. 

Key responsibilities:

• Cross-functional support for the Fund’s communications teams, including occasional executive assistant support to the department leadership team
• Provide organisational support to team members and other internal stakeholders as required
• Ensure stakeholder lists and other cross-functional assets are up to date, accurate and well-structured, including supporting with Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) as required
• Contribute to new campaigns and projects as required
• Assist in budget management and other financial matters, including procurement
• Effective management of the multiple communications touchpoints in the Fund’s customer journey cycle

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of our Active Journeys team in the Tees Valley area, where you will help shape healthier, happier communities through walking, wheeling, and cycling. 

As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the design, delivery, and oversight of behaviour change and engagement projects, as well as leading and supporting the delivery team. You’ll be at the heart of creating positive change, ensuring projects are cost-efficient, timely, and impactful. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Lead the delivery of behaviour change and engagement projects and campaigns to encourage active travel.
• Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery in line with objectives and timelines.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, community groups, and partner organisations.
• Collaborate with the Sustrans Volunteering Team to coordinate and promote volunteer and community champion opportunities.
• Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of an interdisciplinary delivery team.
• Mentor and coach direct reports to support their development and performance.
• Represent Sustrans through presentations, workshops, and meetings with existing and potential partners. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You will bring a solid understanding of active travel and the barriers faced by communities experiencing inequalities, alongside knowledge or practical experience in behaviour change concepts and approaches. 

You will have demonstrable experience in: 

• Managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, particularly those with a strong emphasis on community engagement.
• Facilitating workshops and delivering presentations to diverse audiences, both in person and online.
• Communicating effectively across a range of formats and with varied audiences. 

You are a skilled problem solver with excellent organisational abilities, capable of managing and prioritising work across multiple projects to meet deadlines and targets.

Summary of the role:

The Supporter Relations Engagement Team is involved in the planning and development of programmes and projects that puts supporter engagement at the heart of everything do we do. They play a pivotal role in making Muslim Aid more data and insight driven in the way we fundraise and communicate with supporters. The team’s aim is to increase the depth and value of supporter relationships whilst also encouraging repeat giving and overall supporter retention through targeted engagement strategies.

Working within the Supporter Relations Engagement Team, you will develop a supporter centric approach to planning effective multi-channel, multi-product supporter journeys to grow loyalty, engagement, and income.  We are looking for someone with an audience and data insight driven approach to identify moments that matter and key touch points to improve the supporter experience. By doing this, you will ensure that each touchpoint across the supporter experience is engaging, effective and reflects Muslim Aids brand and values.

As a confident communicator you will help develop a culture based on understanding and interpreting supporter behaviours and motivations. Using this information, you will lead on mapping journeys and engagements across communications, campaigns and the fundraising portfolio to maximise a supporter’s lifetime value.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the promotion of Bikeability, the Government’s national cycle training programme, as a key member of the management team.

The Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the creation, development and delivery of marketing and communications activity with both internal and external audiences, including the Bikeability industry, schools, parents, the general public, media, and key stakeholders.

You will head up a team of talented communication experts, as part of the Strategy team, ensuring the delivery of all communications activity, including marketing campaigns, social media, press relations, industry engagement, and communications support to our public affairs strategy.

You will have excellent experience of delivering outstanding marketing and communications campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive service demand. You will have a collaborative approach and enjoy working as part of a team.  You will report to the Director of Strategy and be actively engaged in advising the executive team and trustees. 

Responsibilities:  

Lead the Promotions and Communications team to: 

• Develop and deliver The Bikeability Trust’s marketing, communications and media activities, including campaigns and project communications

• Manage relevant contracts with external agencies, including website management and graphic design

• Deliver the Bikeability social media programme to key audiences including parents, schools, internal Bikeability industry, and general public for wider awareness 

• Deliver communications support for Bikeability industry through a programme of regular communications 

• Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to deliver effective project communication deliverables 

• Effectively manage team budget 

• Use media monitoring and brand tracking to evaluate impact and manage brand reputation

• Ensure evaluation and impact of communications work is collated and learning shared.

Enhance and improve strategic stakeholders’ engagement, including joint campaigns, cross-promotion and/or specific project activity to: 

• Ensure the Department for Transport and Active Travel England are fully engaged in any communications activity, working with them to amplify messaging 

• Work with cycling and active travel organisations on joint campaigns and promotions 

• Suport our Fundraising team to generate engagement and income from individual donors and corporate partners 

• Work with our agency partner to provide communications support to public affairs strategy

The role

We’re looking for a high performing, creative and driven Digital Manager to work in our communications and marketing department on a temporary basis, to drive all areas of Family Fund’s digital work.  You’ll develop digital strategies and campaigns that improve conversion with our key audiences, raise vital income and boost brand profile.  You’ll also provide expert advice on the evolution of our digital channels and communications, to ensure we keep pace with fast-changing digital developments. 

The person we’re looking for 

To be considered for this role you’ll need to evidence significant experience managing and improving the performance of digital channels (including social media, e-marketing and websites) using analytics to inform decision-making. You should have specialist knowledge of digital across a range of techniques and have experience in managing paid-for digital advertising budgets and campaigns. With experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) and of platform analytics tools including Google Analytics, Facebook and X, you should have a sound understanding of an integrated approach to digital marketing and knowledge of data protection best practice and legislation.

A confident communicator with strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills, you’ll be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a wider team. Organised and hard-working, you’ll be a pro-active self-starter that can hit the ground running and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve growth objectives for our national charity brand.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data & Insights Manager to lead on the day-to-day development, implementation and utilisation of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools through our data management platform, Microsoft Dynamics 365. This role is pivotal to embedding a culture of data-driven decision-making across Amref UK, ensuring the integrity and strategic use of our data to enable strategic growth in supporter engagement, retention and income generation.

The Data & Insights Manager will be a key point of contact for colleagues across the organisation, playing an instrumental role in shaping how we gather, manage and utilise data at Amref UK. They will be critical in providing expertise and establishing new ways of working across keys Amref UK teams, including Supporter Engagement, Programmes & Strategic Partnerships, Finance, Operations and Senior Management.  The postholder will be the organisational expert in Microsoft Dynamics working with senior leaders, Amref HQ ICT, Amref’s global Fundraising & Marketing Development team (FMD) and third-party vendors to develop, implement and integrate processes and reporting tools that aid analysis and insight.  They will be responsible for delivering improved functionality and system upgrades while maintaining data integrity and compliance requirements.  Expertise in relational database design and familiarity with marketing tools such as Google Analytics would also be an advantage.

As our CRM Product Manager, you will define and deliver a visionary CRM strategy that empowers WaterAid’s fundraising success, working closely with technical teams, fundraising stakeholders, and global partners to drive sustainable change. 

In this role, you will: 

• Set and lead the CRM vision for WaterAid UK and work with international colleagues on a global CRM strategy.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need: 

• Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other enterprise CRM platforms, and a clear understanding of how CRM drives fundraising strategy. 
• Strong business and systems analysis skills, including the ability to write effective user stories and translate requirements into actionable solutions. 
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams through technology transformation, with experience in stakeholder management and navigating change. 
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work across diverse cultures and manage supplier relationships and budgets effectively. 

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have: 

• Knowledge of fundraising-specific CRM services such as GiftAid, Direct Debits, BACs, event and supporter management. 
• Experience with extract, transform and load (ETL) processes, particularly handling large batch data operations. 
• Hands-on experience developing solutions within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To manage, lead and support the Fundraising and Communications Team to retain donors, increase income and provide clear direction for our communications. • Establish a database for external stakeholders also supporting those living with Duchenne on a national basis, fed in to from the Support Team.

• To develop a triaging and caseload process for the Support Team, and how best to regularly monitor this.

• Be involved in the recruitment, selection, and induction of volunteers appropriate to your area of work. 

• Coordinate cover for the Support Team when there is sickness or leave.
