The Deputy Store Manager is a key part of the team representing Choose Love in the exciting winter fundraising period. You will support the Store Manager in monitoring and managing the Choose Love store in London. Your primary remit is raising much-needed funds to help Choose Love reach their fundraising target this winter. You will supervise 2 Sales Assistants and engage with customers and volunteers to ensure everyone feels valued and welcomed. It’s not a traditional retail environment - it’s a joyful experience to be in the store, and you’ll help make it memorable.
Alongside the Sales Assistants, you will interact directly with customers at the store, processing card-only donations and answering any questions. You will also need to help coordinate corporate and community volunteers when they arrive on ‘shift’ and provide them with a thorough training briefing before they begin their shift. You will manage merchandise stock and keep the store looking tidy and slick.

The Opportunity

We are expanding our operational team and so we are looking for a Projects Administrative and Events Assistant. This is an entry level post. This hands-on role would suit a responsive, dependable implementer who is willing to step up when something is needed and determined to see things through, even if problems surface. The Position
As part of a small team, the Events Assistant will support the Venue Hire team with general administrative tasks, sales, planning and delivery of events and exhibitions for external venue hire clients as well as support Society colleagues with internal event planning.
The Society offers the hire of the Ondaatje Theatre and associated rooms to individuals and commercial, educational, and not-for-profit organisations for small-scale meetings, seminars, evening lectures, large daytime conferences, receptions and weddings. The post holder will primarily be expected to provide efficient and accurate administrative support to the Venue Hire team. About the role
As an eComm Assistant, you will support the eComm team in the delivery of our ambitious Bricks & Clicks strategy, supporting our 10yr strategy. Collectively the Assistants will be responsible for tasks relating to the coordination and promotion of Become’s training and consultancy offer.
The role involves significant liaison with external client organisations to ensure a smooth client journey and internal liaison with Become’s Accounts Team and the Communications Team.
Key tasks will include (but not limited to):
- overseeing invoicing processes including completing supplier set up forms with client organisations, requesting purchase order numbers, liaising with our accounts team to raise invoices, monitoring payments
- co-ordinating online bookings (using the Eventbrite booking platform where necessary)
- sourcing venues and liaison with venues for in-person events
- registering learners on our accredited courses
- creating and distributing handouts

- booking travel and accommodation for young people and team members
- working with the Comms team to create promotional materials
This is a part-time role (21 hours per week). We ask that you’re available on Thursdays and Fridays, but beyond that, we’re happy to discuss a working pattern that fits well with your life and commitments.
Location
We are currently hybrid working: our team primarily works from home. In-person attendance at some meetings will be expected approximately once every two months, usually at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London. This would be agreed on a monthly basis with the manager. For non-London based staff we will consider hot-desking options near you, if required. Additionally, as a charity providing services to England Become covers the cost of travel within England for essential in-person meetings. We are open to conversations about flexible working arrangements.

Purpose of the job

- Offer advice on nature-based solutions and grant funding to farmers and landowners.
- Plant 30,000 trees annually.
- Input and support the achievement of other applicable 5-year plan targets. i.e. River restoration and catchment scale monitoring.
- Increase Thames21 presence in the Thames Valley, identifying opportunities, supporting, and complimenting the work of other NGOs and regional Rivers Trusts.
The role is a relatively new area of work for Thames21 and may consist of supporting a range of projects and programmes including Catchment Partnerships, Farm Clusters and Natural Flood Management.
Finally, the postholder will take a lead in progressing Thames21’s resilience strategy i.e. working closely with the Fundraising Team, the Catchment Partnership Team, and partner organisations to increase private and public investment to deliver healthy resilient rivers and catchments.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is charity that represents the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.
This role will play a crucial part in the BDA. It ensures smooth operations, supporting the Head of Finance & Operations and the Finance Manager, in managing the day to day recording of financial information. This will include accurate invoicing, debt management, and supplier coordination, supporting the charity’s financial health.
Location
Hybrid – this role is primarily home-based (UK), with requirement to travel to and work from our office in Bracknell (Berkshire) at least once a week, and as necessary. Travel is also required to attend team days, which typically take place twice a year.
Hours of work
Part time (14-15 hours per week). This could be arranged as either: 5 days per week at 3 hours per day, or 4 days per week at 3.5 hours per day. Working pattern can be discussed and agreed based on mutual preference and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial administration
- First line of contact for Finance telephone and e-mail inbox queries.
- To assist in the smooth day to day running of the finance department.
- Set up new customer accounts/contacts and completing supplier forms/portals as required.
