GiveOut is an award-winning international LGBTQI community foundation bringing together our community and allies to support LGBTQI activism worldwide.

Across the world, courageous activists are working tirelessly to protect LGBTQI communities and advance equality. But they lack resources and funding is fragile, especially in the Global South. LGBTQI groups receive a tiny fraction of international development aid.

GiveOut exists to bridge this gap. We provide a platform for individuals, businesses and others to give tax efficiently in one place, ensuring sustained funding for LGBTQI human rights activism worldwide. By pooling donations, we provide grants to pioneering organisations, empowering them to defend our communities, tackle inequality and campaign for lasting change.

In just seven years, we have provided over £3 million in new funding, supporting nearly 60 LGBTQI organisations globally. Our grant partners report back on their achievements, and we share their impact with our supporters, demonstrating the tangible difference their generosity makes.

About the Role
Fundraising and philanthropic advocacy are at the heart of GiveOut’s work. As Philanthropy Coordinator, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, supporting our philanthropy programme and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Senior Philanthropy Officers.

You will have responsibilities in three main areas: helping with internal programme coordination, supporting colleagues on key donor relationships and fundraising, and events.

You will be highly organised with a strong work ethic, enjoy organising events, and up for the challenge of raising lower level gifts from our community and allies. You will have the opportunity to develop organisational, project management and fundraising skills, learn about LGBTQI rights activism around the world, and see the impact of your work through the incredible LGBTQI organisations supported through GiveOut.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Internal Programme & Team Coordination

  • Manage calendars, schedule internal meetings, help bring together agendas, book meeting rooms, and take minutes where required

  • Help maintain internal documents & systems such as fundraising pipeline, internal reporting and project management tools.

  • Maintain database to ensure accurate donor information in GiveOut’s CRM 

  • Coordinate monthly finance reconciliation tasks for Philanthropy Team

  • Work with colleagues on shared processes, including finance and reporting

  • Contribute to a dynamic, fun and effective organisation

• Supporting Donor Relationships

  • Triage donor requests, responding where appropriate 

  • Schedule external meetings and calls

  • Create and send invoices to donors 

  • Create fundraising campaigns across third party platforms such as Benevity, JustGiving and CAF. 

  • Ensure we have necessary information to claim Gift Aid on eligible donations

  • Support on reporting to donors on the impact of their giving, building donation reports from database, liaising with internal teams, and using templates to build reports

  • Assist in donor research and prospecting

• Events

  • Support on GiveOut online and in-person events, creating event plans, and coordinating both internally and externally

  • Support travel and manage itineraries for international guests 

  • Attend GiveOut and networking events, representing GiveOut and the Philanthropy Team as needed

Essential Skills and Experience

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience of  Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets etc.)

• Experience of Asana project management tool

• CRM experience (Donorfy-specific training will be provided)

• Experience using MailChimp, MailMerge or other email marketing tool

• Working knowledge of the GDPR

Purpose of Post: The Events Coordinator will help to plan, promote and deliver a diverse programme of online and in-person events that reflect the organisation’s mission to support, empower and amplify the voices of people with lived experience of mental illness. These will include outreach sessions, campaigning events, open forums, creative workshops, community engagement activities, fundraising events, awareness days and partnership events.

The post-holder will ensure all events are accessible, inclusive, trauma-informed and well-organised, working closely with the Engagement & Campaigns Manager, project teams, volunteers and external partners.

Given the collaborative and engagement-focused nature of this role, and its direct delivery responsibilities, regular face-to-face working is required, with the post-holder based primarily in the office and attending events and community activities as needed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination

• Develop and maintain an annual events calendar covering outreach, campaigns, creative sessions, open forums, workshops and fundraising (both online and in-person).
• Lead on the end-to-end planning of online and in-person events including aims, audience, format, accessibility needs, timelines, budgets, venues, equipment and staffing.
• Prepare event plans, schedules, risk assessments and checklists to ensure smooth delivery.
• Liaise with venues, suppliers and partners to negotiate costs (ensuring value for money), confirm bookings and arrange logistics.

 Promotion and Communications

• Produce accessible event information and promotional materials, working with colleagues to ensure inclusive language, imagery and formats.
• Use social media, website updates, e-newsletters and community networks to publicise events.
• Maintain event booking systems (e.g. Eventbrite, online forms), manage attendee lists and respond promptly to enquiries.

Event Delivery

• Act as point of contact on the day of events, ensuring smooth set-up, running and pack-down (including seating, signage, technology and accessibility adjustments).

• Brief staff, volunteers and facilitators on their roles and responsibilities before and during events, to ensure clarity of roles.

• Greet attendees, speakers and partners; creating a warm, inclusive and trauma-sensitive environment.
• Monitor timing, technical requirements (e.g. microphones, presentations, online platforms if appropriate) and respond to any issues that arise calmly and adapt plans where needed.

Community Engagement and Stakeholder Support

• Build strong relationships with partner organisations, community groups, local charities, the council and health & social care stakeholders.
• Represent the organisation professionally at meetings, outreach events and networking opportunities as necessary.
• Support delivery of awareness campaigns, public consultations and community engagement activity.

Volunteer Coordination

• Support the recruitment, induction, supervision and recognition of event volunteers.
• Provide clear instructions and create a positive, supportive environment for volunteers.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

• Collect and analyse event data, including attendance, demographics, costs, outcomes and feedback (e.g. surveys, informal feedback, Mentimeter)
• Produce reports and summaries to evidence impact, support funder reporting and inform future planning.

Finance and Administration

• Work within agreed event budgets, tracking expenditure and income, and seeking value for money.
• Process invoices, petty cash and expenses in line with Hear Us, financial procedures.
• Maintain an organised system for event documentation (e.g. booking forms, contracts, attendance, risk assessments, evaluations).

Safeguarding, EDI and Health & Safety

• Ensure all events comply with safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality and health & safety policies.
• Ensure events are inclusive of people from diverse backgrounds and are accessible to people with a range of mental health needs and disabilities.
• Report safeguarding concerns promptly following internal procedures.

Other Duties

• Attend staff meetings, supervision, training and development opportunities.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and learning culture.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties within the scope and spirit of the role as requested by your line manager.

Main duties of the job

About this key role

You will take the lead on applications and relationship management of Trusts and Foundations, working with the Trusts and Foundations Officer and Head of Voluntary Fundraising to raise £2m from Trusts and Foundations each year, plus manage campaigns and events to raise £200,000 across Appeals, Individual Giving, and Legacy per year.  You will be expected to manage a Fundraising Assistant to support them with administration tasks for the team, while also managing and refining processes for recordkeeping, a multitude of fundraising systems, through which we receive funds, and work closely with the Finance team to set and review annual budgets.

We will also count on you to develop and design high-quality applications, presentations, and pitches to secure five-, six- and seven-figure funding opportunities from Trusts and Foundations, provide excellent stewardship to existing donors and to manage the development and implementation of our Individual Giving and Legacy Strategy, providing regular data analysis & reporting on our progress.  Growing our Individual Giving and Legacy income stream through single and regular giving appeals is also a key aspect of this role.

What we are looking for

• Two years’ experience working in a charity fundraising environment
•  Proven track record of winning and/or managing five-figure grants
• Experience devising, planning and implementing fundraising appeals
• A good understanding of fundraising best practice and regulations, including Fundraising Regulator guidelines, GDPR and data protection
• Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage external stakeholders
• Impressive communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to write compelling and informative copy that are tailored to different audiences

General Income Generation

• Co-produce annual philanthropy and fundraising targets and take the lead responsibility to instigate and co-ordinate the activity that will achieve them.

About the role

Reporting in to the UK Influencing Lead, the Government & Parliamentary Lead supports the management of Christian Aid’s government influencing and UK specific public policy development and delivery in line with policy, advocacy and campaigns strategies that maximises impact. 

The post-holder will lead on the government and parliamentary aspects of the UK influencing strategy, and will ensure Christian Aid is engaged and develops and delivers excellent briefings on critical and current development issues in the UK.

• Collaborate with others and communicate political influencing strategies and tactics, to ensure that our influencing work has political traction to maximise impact.
• Collaborates with the Faith influencing and Civil Society Lead and Campaigns Lead to ensure our overarching engagement and campaigns strategies have political impact and influence change in the UK, as well as with wider audiences such as the INGO sector, the private sector and the Church ensuring alignment with organisational values and goals.

Fundraising Relationship Manager

Mission 44 supports young people to boost aspirations, achieve academically, and provide resources and industry exposure to access great STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers. Our motorsports engagement strategy, which sits under our global STEM strategy, seeks to accelerate sector-wide change in motorsport within the next three years. It leverages Mission 44’s convening power and our MSc Motorsports Scholarship programme to deliver measurable change across employers and increased access for young people from all underrepresented backgrounds to exciting roles in motorsports.

As the Senior Impact Manager, Motorsports Engagement, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with motorsports employers to support young people from underrepresented backgrounds into early career opportunities. Working closely with Formula 1 and its teams, as well as a broader network of STEM-related organisations across the UK, US, and Brazil, you will lead collaboration efforts to influence inclusive recruitment and retention practices in motorsports, and enhance career access and progression. With a strong external focus, you will also support Mission 44’s fundraising goals, representing the organisation at high-profile events, stewarding key corporate accounts, and helping secure investment in our programmes and mission.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DELIVERY OF MOTORSPORTS ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY (70%)

• Play a key role in the development and execution of Mission 44’s new Motorsports strategy, to create access opportunities for young people from underrepresented backgrounds within STEM sectors, particularly motorsports.

• Build trusted relationships with key motorsport employers and stakeholders, including F1, F1 teams, FIA, and relevant STEM employers, to drive sector-wide change, focusing on increasing demand for underrepresented talent, adoption of inclusive recruitment practices, and awareness of Mission 44’s work and impact.

• Apply and continually improve the convening strategy and toolkits to Mission 44’s STEM work, helping determine when and how convening can most effectively support our goal of inspiring and supporting young people (aged 14–30) in the UK and US to access careers in STEM and motorsport.

• Collaborate with the Engagement Directorate, nonprofit partners and corporates to design and deliver high-impact STEM career experiences at Formula 1 races and other key events - some of which will be international - ensuring alignment with Mission 44’s objectives and offering young people meaningful exposure to career pathways.

EXTERNAL REPRESENTATION AND ENGAGEMENT (20%)

• Represent Mission 44 at Motorsport industry events, donor meetings, clearly articulating our global mission and impact with tailored messaging for each audience.

• Support cultivation and stewardship efforts as requested by the Engagement Directorate, engaging prospective donors and prioritising meetings that deliver the greatest strategic value.

• Advocate for Mission 44 at high-profile events and stakeholder meetings, championing greater industry engagement and driving impact.

• Support our storytelling and communications efforts to highlight success and progress while spotlighting challenges to potentially shape future advocacy.

MONITORING AND LEARNING (10%)

• Support the Head of Impact, STEM Pathways and the Head of Strategy and Learning to collect key impact data.

• Contribute to evaluation processes, seek and develop opportunities to raise awareness of Mission 44’s work to create early career pathways for young people.

• Assist with annual reporting and provide input into fundraising and communications materials where relevant.

ABOUT YOU: SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL 

• Experience working in the motorsports sector and/or F1, with a strong network of connections. 

• Knowledge of inclusive recruitment and retention practices.

• Strong understanding of early career pathways into STEM careers, particularly into the motorsport sector, and of barriers to access for people from underrepresented backgrounds.

• Strong expertise in programme design and implementation.

• Record carer details and interactions on the database.

About the role

Medact is hiring for the new role of Fundraising Manager: Trusts & Grants to secure grant funds for the organisation over a critical one-year period. The new Fundraising Manager will be responsible for completing applications already in the pipeline, and then setting out a plan to apply for as many successful grants as possible in the period and delivering it.

The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team and our programme staff, to identify, develop and write grant proposals to relevant funders, for both restricted and unrestricted income streams.

This is a skilled role but you don’t need to have had a job in an NGO before or be a professional campaigner to be right for it. You might have successfully fundraised for a local community organisation or a grassroots campaign on a social justice or health issue that you care about. 

You’ll have strong skills in developing and writing applications, with a strong understanding of the funding landscape and potential relevant grantmakers. You need to be a great communicator, able to translate the work of an organisation into language tailored for different funding bodies. You’ll also be a strong team player, able to work with relevant staff members to develop winning applications that fit properly within our existing strategy and areas of work.
