About the role

• Be a key point of contact for receiving and processing referrals to the Providence Row, Resource Centre.
• Complete assessments of those referred to the Centre
• Make statutory and non-statutory housing referrals dependant on the persons need and eligibility.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including outreach teams, health services, City of London Police and other support organisations.
• Work within the Team Around Me model, engaging closely with the City Outreach Teams and the Navigator service to develop and implement joint action plans for people rough sleeping.
• Connect City clients with essential health services to address tri-morbidity—the complex combination of physical ill health, mental health, and substance use that often affects individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.
• Facilitate referrals to training, employability, and volunteering programs to support long-term stability and independence.

We are looking for two talented, energetic and passionate campaigners to lead our influencing work in support of these goals, playing an instrumental role in JRF’s success.

About the role

Our Senior Campaigns and Public Affairs Managers play three important roles. Firstly, they collaborate closely with their equivalents in our policy and analytical teams to ensure that our major policy ideas are designed from the outset to attract the highest possible levels of public and political support.

Second, they are responsible for identifying the best fit influencing strategies and tactics (ranging from insider approaches to more overt campaigning) for securing tangible progress towards these policy objectives and developing powerful narratives to build support from key stakeholders.

Thirdly, they are responsible for securing (on an ongoing basis) the resources the strategies need, mobilising colleagues, partner organisations and external contractors to put them into effect, growing a powerful network of influential external supporters and ensuring that plans respond effectively to the ever-evolving external context.

About you

As our Senior Campaigns & Public Affairs Manager, we’d like you to have an in-depth understanding of the ways in which UK public policies are formed and reformed, of the challenges associated with delivering policy in the real world and of how civil society organisations like JRF can successfully influence policy change.

You will have an understanding of the structural nature of poverty and how policy may alleviate structural harms and substantial experience of working at progressively senior levels at the intersection of policy development, politics and strategic communications/ campaigns. 

You’ll have substantial experience of working in multidisciplinary teams using a range of insider and outsider tactics and compelling examples of developing and implementing influencing strategies that have demonstrably affected the climate of opinion around an issue and ideally, achieved concrete change.

With a proven track record of successfully building relationships with decision makers and influencing their thinking, you’ll have clear examples of writing effectively for a wide range of audiences and of commissioning, understanding and using public attitudinal insights to inform your influencing strategies and/or narrative development.

Hospitals need to free up beds by discharging patients who do not need to remain in hospital. Despite the pressures we want discharges to be safe, successful and as painless as possible for patients. We also want to ensure a patient is not readmitted into hospital. 

The Hospital Discharge Community Support Coordinator will match Age UK Lambeth (AUKL) volunteers and partner organisation volunteers to support a patient's discharge. Volunteers could provide support with transport, practical support such as food shopping or completing home safety checks. Upon discharge volunteers may continue supporting patients for up to 4 weeks, providing support in person (at the individual's home or in the community) and over the phone, linking them into support services and helping them access the community to prevent hospital readmission.

What you’ll be doing?

1. Oversee the development of a new, inclusive volunteer programme that offers a range of diverse and challenging volunteer roles to support patients leaving hospital and once settled home. 

2. Work in partnership with the VCS to create 100 volunteering opportunities to support hospital discharge.

3. Using the volunteer platform, Care for Me, track allocated tasks to ensure they’re completed. Monitor volunteer reports to review the support and work delivered under the project.

4. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital to ensure appropriate referrals are made into the service.

Role Responsibilities 

Strategy and planning

• Deliver the existing Community and Events strategy and maximise opportunities for income growth 

• Identify and develop new income generating opportunities across Community and Events Fundraising, devising new events and engagement opportunities

• Develop, implement and monitor against KPIs, annual plans, and income and expenditure budgets, ensuring targets are met with robust analysis and reporting 

Income growth, event and supporter management

• Proactively manage all aspects of Community & Events Fundraising to increase our supporter base and maximise income, supported by the Events and Community Officer

• operational management of all income and expenditure ensuring sound ROI.

• Develop and deliver supporter journeys that raise average fundraising per head, decreases drop-outs and increases repeat entry 

• Implement new digital and value exchange fundraising streams

• Optimise the Family Fund programme to strengthen commitment and fundraising potential of existing Family Funds, and enable recruitment of new Funds 

• Deliver excellent support to fundraising groups and recruit new volunteers to fundraise and advocate on behalf of the charity

• Work collaboratively across the charity to facilitate cross-selling opportunities and engaging supporters in other fundraising opportunities, in particular working with the corporate team to recruit participants and support propositions at corporate fairs. 

Fundraising events management

• Manage delivery of the event portfolio to achieve financial and sign-up targets, delivering effective on the-day support for event participants. This includes ensuring our events are accessible for visually impaired participants

• Deliver excellent supporter care to ensure supporters are motivated to achieve (and exceed) their fundraising targets, feel valued and build engagement with us 

• Key point of contact for high level event participants and community fundraisers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls and emails – providing timely and personalised support

• Support the Events and Community Officer with enquiries, applications and registrations for challenge events, ensuring high levels of conversion, and capturing relevant supporter data 

• Support the Head of Community and Engagement, or other teams within Fight for Sight with the successful delivery of key special events, including fundraising gala dinners or receptions, virtual events and mini conferences, and third party or established supporter events.

• When required, support the Events and Community Officer in managing guest lists, enquiries, and ticket sales for special/major donor events and receptions, delivering a seamless guest experience and timely follow-ups supporter care and relationship management

Marketing 

• Oversee all paid Facebook advertising activity for events, updating web listings, and utilising our networks

• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to raise awareness/increase recruitment across all activities, highlighting case studies and media stories 

• Develop and deliver effective and engaging content, and materials for supporters to increase recruitment, retention, and average fundraising amounts

• Oversee the creation and delivery of quarterly events e-newsletter, plus additional e-blasts

Managing information and reporting 

• Work with the Database Manger to ensure accurate records within our CRM system (ThankQ) and management of income from online and offline giving

• Carry out post-event evaluations, analysing supporter data help facilitate greater levels of income 

• Support other areas by attending events, exhibitions etc. as required by a small team with varied responsibilities

• Other duties as may be reasonably required by line manager role

Leadership & management  

• Provide excellent leadership and line management of direct reports, ensuring that team members meet their individual objectives, develop and grow in their roles, and are motivated and high performing

• Work as part of the fundraising senior management team, alongside the Director and Head of Community and Engagement to devise, deliver and implement the team’s strategy and the organisation’s strategic plan

Other

• Become fully conversant with the aims and objectives of the organisation

Person specification

Desirable skills, knowledge & experience

• Minimum five years of experience of events and community fundraising, in particular with developing overseas or large-scale mass participant events.

• Experience with recruiting new volunteers and fundraisers from a range of community groups including but not limited to faith-based fundraising, schools and street collections. 

• Meeting income targets of over £350,000.

• Experience with managing senior volunteers within fundraising groups and building excellent rapport with them.

• Liaising at all levels with the ability to motivate and inspire others to support financially. 

• An effective networker, with an ability to build high level relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Experience of designing and delivering high impact stewardship programmes and delivering successful and engaging events.

• Proven experience of devising budgets and project plans and reporting against them. 

• Excellent track record of personally securing community partnerships and supporter-led events

As Research Manager – Contracts and Funding, you will play a vital role in the delivery of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s growing research portfolio. You will lead on the financial and contractual aspects of our research funding processes. You will help ensure our funding is administered responsibly, efficiently, and in a way that maximises impact for people affected by dementia. This role sits within the Research Directorate, an ambitious, supportive and friendly team, and working closely with colleagues across Finance and Fundraising.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Research award financial oversight

· Maintain systems to track financial data associated with funded grants, providing information to internal teams and act as the primary contract for all questions related to financial award data

· Monitor active grants for financial compliance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting from researchers and host institutions.

· Collaborate with the Finance team and Research Leadership team to maintain robust grant forecasting and budget control across research programmes.

· Provide advice and training on financial best practices to internal teams

· Implement, oversee and refine a grants audit approach and lead on the annual AMRC data collection

· Work with teams across the organisation to identify efficiencies and improvements to existing procedures

Research contracts and agreements

· Lead the drafting, negotiation, and finalisation of all research-related contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, funding agreements, collaboration agreements, and data agreements, working with the Partnerships manager as appropriate.

· Liaise with host institutions, collaborating organisations, and legal advisors to resolve contractual queries and ensure efficient processing.

· Working with internal and external legal counsel, ensure contracts are consistent with ARUK’s policies, funder requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Research policy and process development

· Contribute to the refinement of ARUK’s research finance and contracts policies and standard operating procedures, ensuring they remain aligned with best practice and compliant with legal and regulatory frameworks.

· Support the development and roll-out of new funding schemes by advising on financial models and contract terms.

· Represent ARUK at relevant sector forums, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments in research funding and compliance.

Management Responsibilities

· Line management of a Research Executive, effectively delegating work to support delivery of their objectives

· Help to promote an inspiring team culture across the Research Funding team where personal development is prioritised

 

What we are looking for:

· Significant experience in research finance and/or research contract management, ideally within a medical research funder, university, NHS, or research setting.

· Sound knowledge of research funding frameworks, budgeting principles, and financial governance.

· Sound financial literacy, including relevant experience of managing budgets, financial reporting and analysing data

· Experience drafting and negotiating research-related agreements, with a good understanding of IP, data sharing, and collaboration issues.

The key role is pivotal in maintaining and continuously improving the quality of governance in a national Adult Social Care Charity which fundraises and is registered under the Charity Commission Code of Governance and practises’ the ethical principles under the NCVO. 

The role provides the assurance for the board that they are operating in line with best practice and regulation and that the Charity is operating within its policies, procedures and ethical standards. 

The postholder will consider regulators, funders, supporters, beneficiaries, their family members and the membership of the Charity and be responsible in ensuring that effective governance underpins the operations and supports the charity in achieving its objectives. 

The role supports the Chair of the Board, Chief Executive, and wider Director and Trustee group in providing top quality governance and support that follows ethical and best practise. 

The role is responsible for managing all aspects of corporate governance effectiveness and compliance within the Trust, ensuring governance continues to adhere to good practice and meets all its statutory and regulatory requirements. 

The role will lead on setting clear standards on policy formation and maintain and continuously improve the policy standards and approval and reporting processes. 

The role will ensure oversight and support (through community administration) of the recognised Family Engagement and Reference Groups and Membership Body linking issues and concerns through the appropriate channels. 

Main responsibilities 

Ethical and Strong Governance 

• Take a lead on the development, review and/or maintenance of Terms of Reference, Schemes of Delegation and Memorandum & Articles of Association, liaising with Board and Committee Chairs, Executive and external advisors on key risks and amendments as needed. 

• Board and Committee Governance Support 

• Act as the central communication point between Trustees and the Charity, corresponding with Trustees on key issues between Board meetings. 

• Member and Family Member Engagement 

• Support a step change in the oversight and administration of recognised Family Member engagement structures; primarily at Delrow/St Albans, Gloucester and Botton Communities Family Reference/Engagement Groups, supporting agenda development, minute taking and follow up plans/actions via Community Administration. Report issues and concerns through the appropriate channels. 

• Policy Framework and Development of Policy 

• Oversee the Trust Policy Framework; ensuring that Policy is mapped, shaped and monitored and that clear governance routes exist for update, review and approval through the senior leadership team, Executive, Committee’s and Board.

• Provide proportionate, high quality executive support to the CEO and Directors Group as required by the individual members. 

Being a Manager 

• Provide good quality, inclusive line management support to the Executive Officer ensuring that regular 1:1 and annual appraisal is provided, and personal development planning is in place as needed.

JOB PURPOSE: The Public Affairs Manager will manage the implementation of ParalympicsGB’s policy & public affairs strategy, including managing a targeted contact programme with politicians, civil servants and stakeholder organisations. The role will also play a key role in supporting the organisation’s approach to influencing public policy in sport, disability and education and deliver Games’ time guest programmes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement

• Manage the implementation of the public affairs strategy, with support from the Head of Social Impact and Director of Communications & Social Impact, reporting back to the Senior Leadership Group on the outcomes achieved.
• Work with the CEO, Director of Communications & Social Impact and Head of Social Impact to implement a stakeholder engagement plan building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholder such as politicians, Government departments, ParalympicsGB’s members, sport and disability organisations, and the education sector.
• Coordinate ParalympicsGB colleagues to execute a contact programme with relevant stakeholders including Government Ministers, MPs and Peers, Civil Servants and Stakeholder organisations from ParalympicsGB’s membership and the wider sport, education and disability sectors.

This is a key leadership role in a values-driven charity that puts young people at the heart of everything we do.

As Youth Work Manager, you’ll lead our youth work delivery team, which currently consists of three youth workers and many more volunteers, and take responsibility for the design and day-to-day running of our youth work offer in Didcot and Wallingford.

You’ll support the team to deliver high-quality, responsive youth work across open access, detached and mentoring provision. You’ll also develop opportunities for youth voice and participation, ensuring young people play an active role in shaping our work.

This is a hands-on role, well suited to someone who wants to stay closely involved in frontline youth work while also growing as a manager. The best youth work managers are those who lead by example — delivering sessions, building relationships with young people, and supporting the team through the day-to-day. This role gives you the chance to do both: to shape and manage a strong delivery programme, and to keep doing the kind of youth work that first brought you into the sector.

We’re looking for someone who is committed to reaching young people who may not access other services, especially those who feel overlooked, unheard or unsure where they belong. You’ll be comfortable spending time in the community, meeting young people on their terms, and building relationships. You’ll lead a team that works across a range of settings, including parks, schools, and youth clubs, and help create welcoming, inclusive spaces where young people feel seen and supported.

This is a key role responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of our fundraising strategy, ensuring we achieve our financial targets and can continue to provide essential support to survivors.

The Fundraising Manager will work closely with the CEO, Business Development Officer, Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser, and the wider team, to implement both strategic and operational elements of our fundraising efforts. This includes leading on the coordination and delivery of our multi-strand fundraising strategy, specifically including corporate fundraising, sponsorship opportunities, and the development of income-generating training and development programmes. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing distinct strategies for longer-term contract funding, while ensuring alignment with the overarching fundraising strategy.

This role reports directly to the CEO and is a permanent contract, with a competitive salary range of £38,850 - £43,050 (pro rata if part time). It includes a generous 30-day annual leave allowance, plus bank holidays, with 5 days to be taken over Christmas (as the office is closed for two weeks).

This role offers flexibility and can be undertaken remotely for the right candidate, with travel required to our Carlisle headquarters on an ad hoc basis as required.
