Reporting into the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, this role will join our Marketing and Communications directorate, an innovative team of people who are committed to raising the profile of WithYou, our clients and our colleagues. In this role you will lead WithYou’s internal communications and engagement strategy so our people understand and can contribute to our strategy and direction.
You will work to improve communications, engagement and channel delivery across WithYou, leading the journey to a new interactive platform, using a new internal content strategy to inform it. In addition, you will forge strong relationships to coach, influence and provide clear direction and leadership on all internal communications activity, helping to develop and embed a new organisational strategy and other initiatives, with staff insight at the core.
This is a remote role based from home with travel across England and Scotland required, including overnight stays. This is a full time, fixed term maternity cover position until August 2025. The salary for this role is £56,000 - £68,675 per annum.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Internal Communications Officer
Hybrid Working: Connexional Team staff based at Methodist Church House have a hybrid work pattern which is currently 2 days in the office, and 3 days remote.
About the Role
We are looking to appoint an Internal Communications Officer who will play a critical role in developing and shaping the organisation’s internal communications for the staff of the Connexional Team.
The post holder will work closely with Senior Managers to ensure that the Team’s values, mission and updates are effectively communicated to all Team members working across several sites and from home, to foster a cohesive and motivated work environment.

You will be able to articulate messages clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, that are tailored to various internal audiences. Exceptional writing, editing and proof-reading skills for a range of communication channels are a must for this role.

The role
The Senior Communications Officer is responsible for press liaison, pitching in case studies and news stories about our research to the national press, building relationships with our celebrity patrons and families and creating content for our social media channels. The charity has a small team, so everyone helps with thanking and banking, database management and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. They will build and maintain stakeholder relationships and play a key role in facilitating group discussions with financial services representatives. This exciting role will also involve driving and promoting the work and visibility of the GAL, and planning and delivering a programme of events to promote our work.

You’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering internal communications and driving engagement across the charity. This will include planning, writing and publishing communications that will inform, engage and inspire our colleagues across all areas of our work.
Using your skills in communications, organisation, and planning, you’ll work with the Internal Communications & Engagement team and colleagues across the charity to provide internal audiences with what they need to be able to be informed and updated. This will help them to deliver in their roles to support the Parkinson’s community and deliver on our strategy.
This role is fixed term for 7 months
What you’ll do:
- Write, edit and distribute the weekly all colleague newsletter
- Create content for, and be responsible for maintaining, our internal channels, including our staff intranet.
- Write and edit internal articles and copy
- Monitor and manage our internal engagement mailbox, service desk, and planners.
- Be responsible for the coordination and distribution of our manager bulletins.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience of delivering effective internal communications that drive participation and engagement.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a meticulous eye for attention to detail and excellence in delivery.
- Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills, alongside a flexible approach.
