Job summary
The Senior Policy and Research Manager will play a central role in building MNMUK’s advocacy arguments both globally and within the UK. The postholder will lead MNMUK’s flagship research projects, developing and commissioning new research, managing consultants, writing compelling reports and supporting the team with widespread dissemination across donor markets and media.
We are looking for someone who has demonstrable experience of developing, commissioning and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data/research, and who has had experience of working in a team to translate evidence and policy into advocacy arguments and media outputs. We are looking for a confident communicator (especially in written form) with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Key responsibilities
Research and evidence management
· Lead the development, commissioning and project management of quality research, data and insight projects to build advocacy arguments and drive news media coverage
· Lead on generating evidence, insights and research, including analysis of existing data (evidence reviews/secondary analysis) and primary quantitative/qualitative research
· Drive sustainable, well accepted processes to ensure the organisation uses up to date and accurate statistics and messaging
· Monitor updates in malaria science and research, keeping MNMUK aware of key developments
· Develop subject expertise on malaria, global health research and development and new financing (World Bank IDA, philanthropy, blended finance)

This exciting role will supercharge Peat-free Partnership’s public facing campaign and advocacy to ban the sales of peat in the UK. You will lead the public campaigning element of the Peat-free Partnership (PfP) - a major cross sector effort - to secure a legal end to peat sales in UK horticulture, hosted and coordinated by Plantlife. The Ben Kinsella Trust is one of the UK’s leading anti-knife crime charities. We were set up following the tragic murder of 16-year-old Ben Kinsella in 2008, and everything we do is guided by his legacy. Our mission is to prevent knife crime through education and campaigning.
Ben was a kind, creative young person who loved art, music, Arsenal FC, and making people laugh. He had big dreams of becoming a graphic designer. His death was a senseless act of violence, and the outpouring of grief and public support that followed marked the start of a movement. Ben’s own words, written shortly before his death, called for change, and his voice continues to inspire our work.
Through immersive workshops in our Choices and Consequences Exhibitions and free online resources, we have reached over 50,000 young people so far. About the Role
We are looking for an education or youth work professional who can deliver our programmes to a very high standard. About the Youth Endowment Fund
All of us will experience violence at some point in our lives. For many children, it is a daily reality. Each year, tens of children are killed, hundreds are hospitalised, 1 in 5 teenage children are victims and the majority admit to feeling afraid of violence. It scares them when they travel home from school, prevents them from going out and makes the most vulnerable feel like they don’t matter. It is taking lives, traumatising families and dividing communities. It robs potential, progress and hope.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
The Youth Endowment Fund believes that no child should be affected by violence. We research violence to understand it; we find, fund and test what works to prevent it; and we are building a movement to end it.
A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of children’s services. We need to inspire and connect with senior leaders in England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We need someone who can deliver this whilst understanding and working within the context of the major sector reforms that are currently being delivered via the Families First Partnership programme.
Key Responsibilities
We are at an exciting moment in our work. In June we will publish our children’s services practice guidance, setting out the evidence for what works to reduce serious youth violence in the children’s services sector.
We have plans to work with the sector over the rest of the financial year and beyond, including designing a self-assessment tool to help senior sector leaders benchmark their existing practice against the evidence. We will also launch a new change programme, working hand-in-hand with the sector to implement the evidence for what works, gaining valuable insights in the process.
Your role is to help us turn these plans into a reality.
This will include launching the self-assessment tool and promoting its use within the sector. It will also involve planning, designing and delivering the change programme to turn the theory into reality.
You will also contribute by designing and delivering a range of sector engagement activities, such as webinars, events and learning opportunities, that reach the sector, helping to build momentum, understanding and commitment across children’s services.
Lastly, you will support the Head of Change for Children’s Services with government engagement as required and support the establishment of a new network for senior sector leaders to share the latest evidence and best practice.

Supporting the launch and roll-out of the children’s services self-assessment tool, driving up demand and ensuring widespread completion of the tool across the sector;

Delivering positive change within children’s services: You have significant experience of working with sector leaders to support the development and improvement of practice.

Hybrid Working
The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. If you live outside of London and work remotely, you’ll be expected to work from the London office 2 days per month.

This varied role requires a proactive self-starter who can work effectively at pace with internal teams and independently with our partners. Responsibilities include project management of selected campaigns, e-newsletter delivery, managing the design of internal reports, supporting the social media strategy and managing inbound media enquiries as well as ad hoc support for other members of the marketing team.
Overview of Role
This role will sit within the Marketing team, reporting to the Head of Campaigns, and will work collaboratively with all other departments. Core responsibilities of the role will be:
Campaign Delivery
Working with the Head of Campaigns and Director of Marketing, be responsible for selected marketing campaigns to parents, including overall project management, cross-departmental briefings, development of messaging/creative approach, creation of comms plan, management of budget and delivery of all elements
· Manage PR activity to support key campaigns including media bookings and briefing spokespeople
· Develop and create social media content as required for campaigns and on an ad hoc basis
· Monitor KPIs during campaigns and deliver robust post campaign analysis.
Partner Relationship Management
To own Internet Matters’ relationship with selected partners including regular meetings, status updates and reporting, with the ability to engage at a senior level
· To project manage delivery of defined scopes of work across the organisation
· Working with the Head of Campaigns and Partner Relations, be responsible for the planning and delivery of co-branded marketing campaigns
· To understand each partner’s areas of interest and identify opportunities for additional activation opportunities
Press Office
· To manage incoming requests from media outlets, selecting suitable opportunities, identifying/briefing spokespeople, and recording/evaluating coverage
· Creating monthly reporting on coverage achieved, using Onclusive tracking platform
Other responsibilities
· Offer support across the wider Marketing Team as required to ensure we deliver on our priorities
· Curation of parent-facing newsletters including copywriting and newsletter build using DotDigital
· Management of regular communications to Partners including newsletters and content briefings
· Managing production of Internet Matters reports including briefing, image selection, fit with brand guidelines, accuracy of content and proof reading
