The Main Purpose of the Role:

The Preclinical Research Manager will be responsible for overseeing the generation of research related content for the CP research team and interacting with the research community to provide support and advice in their projects (either being considered or funded by the charity).

Key Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the Director of Research whose main responsibility is the implementation and delivery of the Cure Parkinson’s research strategy.
• Generating Parkinson’s research-related material for a scientific audience, including:
  • Research reports for publication in scientific journals (such as our annual Drug Development Pipeline report – McFarthing et al, 2023).
  • Long format scientific justifications for CP funded clinical trials for the CP website.
  • Short format lay summaries of new research (with the Research Liaison and Research Communication Officers) for various CP platforms.
  • Preparation of posters of CP research for presentation at conferences (with the Research Comms Officer).
  • Facilitating the Research Liaison Officer’s development within this area.
• Regular monitoring of publications and developments in Parkinson’s research, communicating these topics internally to help generate relevant material for the CP website (with the Research Comms Officer and Marketing team).
• Supporting the Director of Research with the scoping, drafting and shaping of drug dossiers for consideration at the annual international Linked Clinical Trials (iLCT) meeting.
• Working with the Director of Research and the Research Manager to develop and coordinate the annual iLCT Pipeline Research Acceleration Funding Programme call.
• Working with the Director of Research and the Research Manager to scope and develop a researcher portal for sharing non-confidential iLCT material.
• Leading on the development of scientific events, workshops and meetings (such as CP’s quarterly webinar series with the Journal of Parkinson’s Disease).

Person Specifications:

The successful applicant will need to work closely with other sections of the charity to understand and support the research needs of the organisation as a whole. For their primary function, they will ideally have:

• A PhD with experience in preclinical research related to Parkinson’s or neurodegeneration.
• A strong understanding of Parkinson’s disease biology and the current preclinical models (in vitro and in vivo) used to investigate it.
• Knowledge of the broader Parkinson’s research field, such as genetics, potential therapeutic targets and drugs currently in development.
• Significant experience in the management and leadership of group projects.
• Experience in the setting up and management of meeting and events.
• Excellent communication skills with experience in presenting at both academic meetings and to general audiences, across in-person and virtual formats.
• Solid problem solving skills across varied settings.
• Experience of line management or equivalent.
• High motivation and willingness to embrace change.
• Willingness to travel overnight for some external meetings, occasionally internationally.

Purpose of the Role

The Digital Marketing Manager will implement and help develop a new digital marketing strategy, crucial to the ongoing development of ArtsEd’s profile and reputation and the successful delivery of all our programmes.

Understanding the needs of current and prospective students and pupils and their parents, and being able to identify digital plans and initiatives which will enable ArtsEd to meet both the long and short-term needs is a central aspect of the role.

The Digital Marketing Manager will lead in the planning and implementation of digitally creative and customer focused campaigns and will be responsible for the achievement of student and pupil recruitment targets. They will work closely with senior staff and the rest of the Marketing team to deliver highly effective experiences to all stakeholders and potential stakeholders.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for the continuing development of ArtsEd’s online profile amongst all of our target audiences, including high-level industry connections, potential supporters and the local community, alongside potential students, pupils and parents.

In addition, the Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for ensuring that ArtsEd’s messaging is consistent, innovative and compelling across all platforms.

Digital Marketing

• Plan and execute digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, email, social media and display advertising campaigns in collaboration with the wider marketing team.
• Use digital marketing expertise to create effective user funnels to optimise conversion rates, tracking user behaviour in order to refine processes.

• Collaborate closely with staff across the organisation to identify storytelling opportunities to ensure a full understanding of ArtsEd’s broad range of target audiences.

• Set up digital advertising campaigns through Meta, Google Ads and other platforms

• Utilise excellent graphic design skills to collaborate with the team on the design and delivery of different digital campaigns for all stakeholder groups. This will include mass e-mails, social media posts and digital collateral as required.

Design & Brand

• Be a guardian of the ArtsEd brand, ensuring correct and effective use of our branding and house style both internally and externally.

• Lead on the implementation and delivery of a robust digital marketing strategy to optimise student and pupil recruitment across the whole organisation. This will include:
• Building on existing digital activity to maximise its reach and impact against all of our target audiences, including digital and associated print advertising.
• Managing an associated  programme of recruitment focused events and activities, both virtual and face-to-face, to raise our profile and to maximise our enquires, registrations, applications and acceptances across all of our activities.
• Supporting the relevant teams in the delivery of this programme, which will include existing activity e.g. Day School and Sixth Form Open Days, degree audition days and our outreach programme.
• To programme our email marketing conversion communication using software Mailer Lite/MailChimp

The Research and Impact Lead role brings scope for dynamic collaboration across the organization, and creativity in applying research and evaluation expertise to a range of opportunities. The Research and Impact Lead will shape, drive and deliver a range of learning activities. They will be a voice for evidence-based decision making within BookTrust, ensuring that we put the needs of children, families, and our delivery partners at the heart of our work.

In this role we are looking for an experienced mixed methods researcher to oversee our MEL approach, develop and deliver new learning and funding partnerships and contribute to our portfolio of cross departmental learning activities – working to deliver research activities or supporting our team of in-house researchers through providing steer and quality assurance.

We are delighted to be partnered once again with the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, who raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. They ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. They are seeking a passionate Social Media and Content Officer to join their ambitious team on a permanent basis.

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting on the planning and delivery of organic social media campaigns across all aspects of the charity’s work
• Working with the digital team to create campaigns and communication plans across all channels and aligning with paid activity, email communications and blogs to create a multichannel approach
• Supporting busy content calendars and managing email production schedules
• Working with the digital team, in particular the Digital Officer to bring case studies and supporter stories to life and publicise these across platforms
• Monitoring social channels, responding to their audience and proactively searching for opportunities for conversation and interaction
• Working with patient influencers, celebrities and working with the Social Media and Content Manager to build an influencer network
• Supporting the Social Media and Content Manager in upskilling teams across the organisation, increasing their knowledge and understanding of social content and how to use their channels.
• Monitoring social media trends and spotting opportunities that could build on and develop their audiences and content
• Working with colleagues to think creatively and produce bold, engaging content that works across multiple communications channels

Person specification:

• Experience creating content (including Reels for Instagram) for and managing social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn
• Experience with social media reporting tools
• Knowledge and understanding of social media best practice and following latest trends
• Excellent writing, copy-editing and proofreading skills, with an eye for detail and a strong command of the English language
• Knowledge and understanding of digital technologies, an interest in social media and commitment to continuous professional development and learning
• Ability to communicate, collaborate and build good working relationships
• Ability to work proactively, bringing energy and creative ideas and managing content for different channels concurrently

What's on offer:

This role is offering a salary of £28,000 - £32,000, depending on experience and will be based at either their Chelsea or Sutton site for 2 days a week. This is a fast moving role and applications will close as soon as a suitable candidate is found.

The Mulberry Centre’s vision is to be known and respected by everyone living or working within reach of our services who may become affected by cancer.All the services at The Mulberry Centre are geared towards supporting the physical and emotional needs of someone following a cancer diagnosis or at end of life, including their carers, families and friends who also might have to stop working to look after them. It can be difficult to know where to start and what you are entitled to, but we are here to help them every step of the way. To assist us in this endeavour, we are looking for an experienced full-time Welfare and Benefits Information Lead.  You will assist clients in claiming welfare benefits, grants, and any financial aid that may be available to them. This includes informing them of any financial help available, supporting them with applications and following up on claim as necessary.  Where anyone has been given an end of life diagnosis you will be required to start the application on their behalf. In addition, you will also conduct financial wellbeing assessments in the community and schedule one-on-one application completion consultations with individuals who request your assistance.

This vital role will suit an enthusiastic and dynamic person who has excellent communication skills, being able to deal with complex matters effectively both verbally and in writing.  You will need to understand the issues involved in interviewing people within a time defined period. The ideal applicant will have emotional resilience to deal with people who have experienced cancer or bereavement. An empathetic and compassionate approach is important.  The Welfare Benefits Information Lead will be at the forefront of our client-based services and need to be self-motivated and have a positive and flexible attitude.
