As Research Involvement Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a programme of patient and public involvement in research, a core component of our charity wide involvement strategy. 

This role will ensure that our research strategy and funding programme is shaped by the priorities and needs of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll review and refine our processes to ensure they are in line with sector best practice and that they meet the needs of our community of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll further embed effective and meaningful involvement at all stages of the research cycle at Blood Cancer UK. 

You’ll also work to support the involvement of people affected by blood cancer in external research and strategic projects across the UK. You will ensure that the research we and others fund is patient focussed and has the potential to accelerate progress and deliver the maximum impact for the communities we support.

To assist us in this endeavour, we are looking for an experienced full-time Welfare and Benefits Information Lead.  You will assist clients in claiming welfare benefits, grants, and any financial aid that may be available to them. This includes informing them of any financial help available, supporting them with applications and following up on claim as necessary.  Where anyone has been given an end of life diagnosis you will be required to start the application on their behalf. In addition, you will also conduct financial wellbeing assessments in the community and schedule one-on-one application completion consultations with individuals who request your assistance.

BRAC, one of the world’s leading development organisations, is seeking a Media Engagement Lead to drive forward our media engagement strategy in Europe. 

Overview of the role

• After 50 years of southern-led impact at scale, BRAC is more determined than ever to create opportunities to realise human potential. In order to do this, BRAC is looking to raise awareness of its work and values amongst key stakeholders in strategic markets across Europe. Engaging regularly and effectively with the media in Europe is therefore vital. 
   
• The Media Engagement Lead will play a leading role in designing and delivering BRAC’s media engagement plans across Europe. This is a pivotal time for BRAC as we begin to invest in relationship development for influence and partnerships across Europe, and this is a vital role in determining the success of this new chapter.
   
• The role will be based in London, a Global Media Hub, but will be tasked with supporting media engagement with publications across Europe, particularly in Germany and Scandinavia.
   
• The Lead will be the focal point for BRAC’s media engagement across Europe and contribute significantly to both securing new media relationships and making the most of existing ones.
   
• This role offers the opportunity to create real change, leveraging the half-century legacy of BRAC – as a world-leading, Southern-led INGO – to develop a strategic media approach towards major European actors and share BRAC’s story with our target audiences through the media.

We are looking for an Interim External Affairs Manager to help lead our communications activities from 24 June 2024 to 31 December, while our permanent External Affairs Manager is on sabbatical. This is a particularly exciting time to join the team, as we seek to maximise our impact ahead of the next general election and develop our strategy for the next few years. 

The successful candidate will help to manage the day to day work of the External Affairs team, including supporting colleagues to enhance our reach on social media and digital channels, deliver our events programme and deepen our impact with key audiences.

This is a diverse role and will include:

Communications and events

• Working with Head of External Affairs and Income (EA&I) to manage the External Affairs’ team’s day-to-day work, including supporting the team with social media, website and press relations

• Working with Head of EA&I to deliver communications strategy

• Overseeing and project managing the charity’s events programme

Leadership and management

• Leading External Affairs team catch ups and project planning 

• Line managing an External Affairs Officer and an Intern with a focus on professional development

• Providing sign-off on a number of areas, including those that carry some risk to the charity

• Working with the Head of EA&I to collect key management information to report on the impact and reach of external affairs activities to the CEO

• Assisting with the charity’s other activities as required.

Influencing and stakeholder management

• Working with the Head of EA&I to manage and deliver the influencing strategy, including helping to deliver campaigns.

• Supporting team with public affairs engagement

Essential skills and qualities:

• A comms all-rounder who can help lead and manage our busy External Affairs team. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tell a clear story and to tailor content for different audiences.

• The ability to guide colleagues in producing a range of content for different platforms and audiences, including via social media, digital and press relations. 

• The capacity to juggle competing priorities, and to help guide others in doing so.

• Strong project management, organisation and decision-making skills.

• Experience of organising events (particularly online) and an understanding of different tactics to engage audiences.

• A creative self-starter who can take the lead in identifying and acting upon opportunities to increase the impact of our communications activities.

• Strong reputation management skills.

• The ability to support and develop junior colleagues.

Prospectus is thrilled to partner with a leading organisation to recruit for a Marketing Lead on a maternity cover contract. This organisation stands as a prominent provider of health and social care services within a faith-based community.

Please note this is a full-time role being offered on a fixed term contract.

The Marketing Lead will project manage, develop, and execute marketing activities and campaigns for priority services such as Care Homes, a support line, Retirement Living, and mental health services.

The Marketing Lead will also develop and implement engaging communications across various channels. Additionally, the post-holder will also have the opportunity to conduct competitor reviews and mystery shopping for key services as identified by senior colleagues. Furthermore, the Marketing Lead will maintain accessibility across all the marketing functions and the website.

The ideal candidate will possess experience with leading both traditional and online advertising campaigns. They should also be familiar with working alongside health and social care services, showing they can work well in that field. It's important they've successfully made marketing plans in different kinds of organisations, like charities, government, or businesses. They need to know how to make marketing materials that follow the rules and can reach everyone, no matter their needs.  

The right candidate will have the knowledge to ensure their messaging is clear and easy for everyone to understand and be aware of ways to make sure people with disabilities aren't left out.
