We are the leading influencer for change in Wales and are seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer to join our dynamic Partnerships and Influencing team in Wales. You will be part of a passionate team dedicated to bringing about lasting change for people with arthritis and musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, identifying creative policy solutions, influencing decision-makers and campaigning alongside people with arthritis. 

With the establishment of the MSK Strategic Clinical Network in Wales, along with a policy framework setting MSK as a government priority, this is an exciting time to join Cymru Versus Arthritis. We are optimistic about the future but there is still more to do. 

About the role

As part of our influencing team, you will play a critical role in shaping and influence policy thinking, managing time-sensitive projects across our policy priority areas, and building relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers across Wales. 

You will gather, analyse, and share information about external policy developments and their implications for people with arthritis, developing policy positions, producing evidence-based briefings and reports and contributing to consultation responses. 

As well as working closely with nation influencing colleagues and teams across the Services & Devolved Nations Directorate, you will work closely with the UK Advocacy & Health Intelligence team, Research Directorate and strategic communications teams, including representing us on cross-sector policy groups and participating in events and conferences.

The role

The responsibility for the Programme Lead is to support the organisation to deliver it’s strategy and embed agile ways of working. They will work with cross-functional groups set up to support strategic delivery. This will include designing and running workshops to help us develop our strategy and plan our activity to deliver it.

The Programme Lead will manage cross-team groups of colleagues that work together to develop impactful activity. Enabling strategy to translate into delivery. The role will develop sessions with the groups, ensuring objectives are set and collating insight.

Continuous learning and improvement will be a priority, due to our new ways of working. The Programme Lead will run retrospectives and use feedback to ensure Scope is set up to deliver its strategy. Work environment

• The post holder should expect to:

Refugee Week is seeking a freelance Social Media Manager to lead the development and delivery of our social media presence in the lead-up to and during Refugee Week 2026. Working closely with the Refugee Week team, you will help shape and tell the story of Refugee Week over the year - inspiring people to take part, building our digital profile, and growing our online community.

You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to lead our resource development. Reporting directly to the Head of Programmes, you will be tasked with developing and producing educational programmes and materials on topics such as Political & Media Literacy, counter-extremism, and online safety. This will involve ensuring resource related KPIs are met within budget and on time, alongside supporting our Head of Programmes in coordinating delivery of projects. Some projects may be handled by you directly at times. Projects and resources can vary from developing media literacy workshops for schools, creating digital assets for counter-extremism training and campaigns, to planning content for city-wide democratic engagement campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, update and design learning and campaign resources for schools, colleges and for digital campaigns.

• Support the Head of Programmes in managing and delivering on our diverse projects. 

• Run relevant projects yourself as required.

• Recruit, coordinate and support schools and teachers across the UK to take on our political and media literacy workshops and projects.

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, councils and other stakeholders.

• Produce and update Elearning resources.

• Occasionally travel nationally and/or internationally, if required.

• Fulfil other duties as reasonably requested.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in resource and curriculum development, preferably in the education or related sector.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) and other relevant software.

• A strong interest in political and media literacy, civic engagement, and addressing online harms.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms and virtual communication tools.

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, social sciences, communications) is preferred.

• Strong writing skills are desirable.

What the job involves

The Health Information Coordinator is a vital role supporting a busy team that creates health information and communications for men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer or those at high risk of developing it.

You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in keeping all the health information on the website up-to-date and in line with the Patient Information Forum’s PIF TICK quality standard. As well as coordinating and editing the team’s social media communications. Supporting the promotion of our resources both internally and externally, you’ll help to evaluate the effectiveness of the service we provide.

The role is responsible for making sure all our health information publications are in stock, so we deliver an effective health information service for men and their families affected by prostate cancer. You’ll also develop and maintain administrative systems to support the team’s work including financial processing.

This role is fixed term until end of October 2026 covering an internal secondment.

We’re looking for a pro-active and highly organised person to join our team. You’ll be self-motivated and able to multi-task, supporting a busy team while keeping on top of your own projects. You’ll have experience of communicating in plain English across multiple platforms including social media and our website.
