Working on critical cross-department initiatives, you will help to drive innovation across War Child’s highly ambitious and successful fundraising operations. You will work on a range of events and projects, help to identify new fundraising opportunities and develop meaningful solutions that maintain the values, creativity and entrepreneurialism of War Child UK.

We’re looking for a creative, detail oriented and highly organised team player to help plan and deliver a range of exciting projects and innovative fundraising activities.  You’ll play an integral role in the Creative Industries Team and work closely with our Music and Communications teams to engage new audiences with War Child’s mission and generate sustainable income.

We are currently looking for an Academic Training and Development Lead at the Francis Crick Institute. What you will be doing

• Provide support to the Head of Academic Programmes to deliver the Crick PhD and Postdoc programmes

• Lead, develop, motivate and performance manage the Academic Training and Career Development Project Manager to deliver their objectives
• Identify and consider the development of new science training and researcher development programmes for Crick PhD students and postdocs
• Evaluate Crick science training activities, refining to ensure that they are effective, current and support cutting edge research

What you will bring

• Experience of working at a senior level in a dynamic scientific environment and higher education/research setting*

We need to urgently reverse the loss of wildlife and put nature into recovery at scale if we are to prevent climate and ecological disaster. The Landscape Recovery team was set up as a response to the urgency of the inextricably linked nature and climate emergencies. The purpose of this team is to encourage and facilitate cross-Wildlife Trust action on landscape scale recovery, inject the rewilding approaches into the work of the Wildlife Trusts, coordinate land management activities where scale-economies are clear and to substantially increase funding for nature’s recovery across the Wildlife Trusts. The team is developing a range of programmes where RSWT acts as a ‘collective vehicle’ for groups of Trusts. For example, RSWT is leading a programme of peatland restoration through the Precious Peatlands project. Opportunities for such programmes are increasing – the UK is at a tipping point where either wildlife continues to decline or we finally grasp the opportunities of nature’s recovery. 

About You 

Working closely with colleagues at the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts and with Local Wildlife Trusts, the Land Management Practice Officer will support The Wildlife Trusts Nature Reserves community of practice. This role will focus primarily, in the first instance, on supporting local Wildlife Trusts to reduce their pesticide use. 

The post will help Trusts develop and share knowledge, skills and capacity in the realm of pesticide use reduction and, where possible, also across other aspects of land management. This work will support Goal 1 – Nature’s Recovery – of the Wildlife Trusts’ Strategy 2030. 

You will be a highly organised, collaborative, and an experienced individual adept at managing customer focussed relationships. You will understand the needs of the Wildlife Trusts and the context in which they operate. Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) is a busy, dynamic award winning Service. We deliver a variety of projects via face to face and digital media.  

Since 2012 we have delivered a volunteer led community library service at Avonmore library.  In April 2024 we embarked on running a second community focused library at Askew Road. To support CAHF community library delivery at both libraries, we introduced the role of Community Library Coordinator.

We’re recruiting a fundraiser and project development manager to build on our creative, award-winning work addressing climate change and fuel poverty in practical, tangible ways. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our vision of a different energy future: one in which energy is generated renewably and used sustainably whilst leaving no one behind in the journey. We are looking for someone who understands the energy sector and the unique role that a community energy group can play in the energy transition. It is a role for someone who can imagine community solutions to energy sector issues and to translate these into fundable projects. 

Your role will be to work with our board of Directors and staff to come to an understanding of our mission and values and our strategic priorities and develop and resource projects that will enable us to meet those priorities filling gaps in provision. In a practical sense, you will work with stakeholders e.g. our staff, our members, local community groups, local authorities and clients to generate ideas for future projects. The direction of travel should be broadly determined by our recent strategic review.

You will work closely with our CEO and our Board of Directors to prioritise project ideas. You will develop partnerships, refine project ideas, identify sources of funding (Trusts and Grantmakers, Corporate Giving), draft bids and cost delivery on a full cost recovery basis, submit bids and if funding is awarded, mobilise the team to deliver the work. This role provides a big and exciting challenge for someone who knows the energy sector, understands the opportunity of community and grassroots solutions, who brings excellent written communication skills and is willing to learn how to fundraise.

Responsibilities:

Grant Fundraising Support:

• Work with the Selce community (the board, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders) to generate new project ideas that support our strategic mission 
• Research and identify potential grant-making trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies that will fund project proposals
• Prepare high-quality grant applications; this includes calculating budget requirements, formulating proposals, writing proposals
• Manage the grant administration process and maintain accurate records of funding opportunities and applications in the fundraising calendar.

Skills & Experience:

The ability to imagine and innovate and thereby build fundable project-based solutions working in partnership with stakeholders is more important that fundraising experience per se. This post would suit an Energy Policy graduate that has experience of either community energy or journalism (and therefore brings strong writing skills) or environmental projects

The charity is seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Officer to join its ambitious Fundraising Team and play a key role in sustaining and growing income from trusts and foundations. This role will lead on writing compelling funding proposals and reports, ensuring that deadlines are met and donor stewardship remains exemplary. Working closely with the CEO, Philanthropy Manager and colleagues across policy, science, communications, and finance, the postholder will ensure funders receive timely and impactful updates on the charity's work.

The ideal candidate will bring excellent writing skills, strong research abilities, and confidence in managing donor relationships. With a flair for turning complex scientific issues into clear and persuasive communications, they will be highly organised, proactive, and motivated by the opportunity to protect people and nature from harmful chemicals. Experience in trust and foundation fundraising, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy, small team are essential.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections of the premises to identify and fix maintenance issues, such as leaks or breakages
• Keep an itinerary of tools and jobs
• Manage supply inventory and reorder supplies as needed
• Carry out cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping and dusting, to ensure the premises are kept clean and tidy
• Conduct minor repair work, including fixing broken locks, replacing light bulbs and carrying out basic plumbing work
• Monitor the property’s security systems and respond to alarms or potential threats
• Manage waste disposal and recycling activities
• Maintain outdoor areas, such as gardens and parking lots, including pruning shrubs and removing snow or debris

About the role
We’re looking for an ambitious and strategic leader to take our Trusts and Statutory fundraising to the next level. As Trusts and Statutory Lead at Parkinson’s UK, you’ll drive the development and delivery of strategies that grow sustainable income and secure major grants for the charity’s most important priorities.

You’ll lead a talented team of nine (including four Managers), creating a culture of collaboration, creativity, and high performance. By inspiring your team and working closely with colleagues in the wider High Value function and across the charity, you’ll open new doors to funders, deepen existing relationships, and champion innovative approaches to securing transformational support.

This is a pivotal role in achieving our ambition to deliver a step change in income. You’ll be a visible and confident ambassador for Parkinson’s UK, engaging senior staff, trustees, and volunteers in building high-value partnerships that make a lasting difference for people affected by Parkinson’s.

What you’ll do

• Develop and deliver ambitious, evidence-based strategies to maximise income from trusts, foundations, and various statutory grantmakers.

• Oversee the cultivation of key funders and senior volunteers, unlocking networks and securing long-term, high-value support.

• Lead senior staff and volunteers in building relationships with trusts and statutory funders, identifying opportunities for growth and adopting fresh, innovative approaches to fundraising.

• Work across the charity to identify funding opportunities and ensure our programmes and projects are well-positioned for support.

• Create compelling, outcomes-driven funding proposals that clearly demonstrate impact and inspire transformational giving.
   

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience of trust and/or statutory fundraising at a strategic level

• Proven ability to identify and present compelling multi-year fundable proposals including complex project budgets and fundraising targets 

• Strong leadership skills including leading dispersed internal project teams towards clear goals, and to prioritise and communicate organisational updates

• Experience of successful line management, overseeing, mentoring and developing skills of team members 

• Experience managing an annual income budget (£1m+) including monitoring activity, performance and re-forecasting
