About the role

Kinship is undertaking a major feasibility Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of Kinship Connected. This is aligned with recommendations set out in the Kinship Care Practice Guide published by Foundations (2024) and builds on evidence from the Kinship Navigator intervention of support for kinship carers in the USA. 

This feasibility RCT is a complex, multi-partner programme involving: 

• An active funding partner 
• An independent evaluation team 
• 5 participating local authorities (to be confirmed) 
• Internal delivery teams and cross organisational services 
• Kinship carers and lived experience subject experts

The Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager is the operational engine of the programme, ensuring that every workstream is scoped, resourced, sequenced, delivered and evidenced, and that Kinship is trial-ready, compliant, and well-coordinated through set-up and delivery.

This role needs someone who is an excellent communicator, highly organised, unflappable, curious, and able to sit comfortably in the detail. The successful person will keep a firm grip on timelines, dependencies and risks.

You will manage a Programmes Officer as well as the set-up, processes, documentation, reporting, trial readiness, communications and cross-team coordination. You will work closely with the Programmes Manager who will share responsibility for ensuring high quality performance across the feasibility trial. You will both work closely with the core project team and partners.

You will lead operational quality, systems, processes, data, and compliance. The Programmes Manager will lead practice quality, staff development and supervision, safeguarding and relational delivery. Together you make sure the trial is delivered ethically, consistently and to a very high standard. 

Key responsibilities include:

• ​Lead the mobilisation plan across all workstreams and ensure trial readiness.
• Develop all processes, documentation and operational frameworks in line with the intervention protocol.
• Coordinate local authority onboarding, staff training and internal operational setup with the Programmes Manager.
• Work with internal Kinship teams to ensure everyone has clear expectations and is held to account for their performance during mobilisation and delivery – owning the workstreams.

Role Overview

The Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for crafting compelling, donor-centred communications that strengthen long-term relationships with partners and supporters, deepen engagement and inspire giving. One of the main areas of responsibility will be to produce proposals and reports for stakeholders, especially strategic partners and donors. The postholder will work closely with the other members of the Marketing and Communications team, as well as collaborating with other departments within the college.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience of producing copy for fundraising and donor relations purposes, and will be a skilled storyteller who can translate the strategic objectives of the college into resonant narratives, understands donor motivations, and writes with clarity, empathy, and purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Stewardship Writing

• Develop persuasive and high-quality copy for multi-channel fundraising campaigns (direct mail, email, website, social media etc.)
• Write impact reports and stewardship letters that convey gratitude and demonstrate impact.
• Create case statements, proposals, and presentations for major donor and foundation audiences.
• Oversee the ongoing use of Donorfy CRM to ensure it functions in a way that optimises ANCC's efficiency and makes full use of its functionality; carry out system integrations as needed.

Storytelling & Content Development

• Interview students, alumni, partners, staff and donors to develop authentic, mission-driven stories.
• Adapt organizational content for various donor segments, ensuring a consistent voice and message.
• Collaborate within the Marketing & Communications team to pair copy with strong visuals, and input to other priority projects as required.

Editing & Quality Control

• Proofread and edit donor communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the college ethos and brand guidelines.
• Maintain a consistent, donor-focused tone across all written materials.

Collaboration & Strategy

• Work closely with the members of the Marketing & Communications team to align donor messaging with campaign goals.
• Collaborate with other teams across the college including the Academic, Training and Finance Teams.
• Contribute to the development of content calendars and communication strategies.
• Track and analyse response rates and engagement to inform future copy.

· Fully participate in All Nations community activities when possible.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years’ professional writing experience, preferably in donor relations and fundraising communications.
• Proven ability to write clear, compelling, and engaging copy and marketing materials for diverse audiences.
• Strong interviewing, research, and storytelling skills.
• Excellent editing and proofreading abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with donor stewardship best practices and fundraising language.
• Experience of producing and tracking fundraising campaigns, tracking impact, reporting and lesson learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and engage cross-culturally.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team and wider organisational departments.
• Experience with CRM or donor database systems.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of direct response fundraising principles.
• Basic understanding of SEO and digital content best practices, and awareness of upcoming trends and changes in the sector, including best use of AI.
• Experience of working with Canva and other document editing software which pair visuals with text.

Purpose

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual ensuring that all of Ella’s premises,  including the office, community hub, and safe houses,  are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and a welcoming environment for staff and service users. This role combines practical facilities work with proactive oversight of supplier management and property maintenance systems.

You will play a key role in maintaining the smooth daily running of our operations, managing contractors and compliance records, and supporting Ella's growth and improvement in facilities management.

Facilities management

• Oversee the maintenance and smooth operation of Ella’s office, community hub, and supported accommodation.

• Manage supplier and contractor relationships, including procurement, tendering, and ongoing performance monitoring.

• Coordinate and oversee maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments across all properties, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

• Maintain clear records of repairs, inspections, and contracts in the central facilities log.

• Ensure the office and community hub are fully equipped, stocked, and operational, maintaining an organised and professional environment.

• Ensure accurate stock records are maintained and inventories are completed across all sites.

Property inspections and maintenance

• Conduct regular inspections of all Ella’s properties to identify and address maintenance and safety issues.

• Manage the safehouse repairs and maintenance log, ensuring timely responses and communication with caseworkers and residents.

• Carry out minor maintenance and repairs directly where appropriate (e.g. light bulbs, fixtures, storage organisation).

• Liaise with landlords and external providers on significant property issues, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
   

Health, safety, and compliance

• Act as the main point of contact for health and safety matters in the Operations Manager’s absence. 

• Ensure that all properties comply with statutory safety and maintenance requirements, including fire safety, gas, and electrical checks.

• Support in maintaining and updating compliance documentation, certificates, and maintenance schedules.

• Conduct regular health and safety audits and risk assessments, escalating issues to the Operations Manager as needed.

• Lead or support fire drills, first aid provision, and emergency preparedness planning.
   

Systems and administration

• Develop and maintain efficient systems for facilities management, including logs, checklists, and compliance trackers.

• Support the Operations Manager in reviewing policies and procedures related to facilities, health and safety, and risk management.

• Coordinate staff communications about ongoing facilities work or planned maintenance.

• Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and deliveries for office and property supplies.
   

Team and organisational support

• Contribute to creating a trauma-informed, safe, and welcoming environment across all Ella’s spaces.
