Role Brief:
This is an exciting new role for an enthusiastic and innovative professional seeking to further their career in the training and youth development field. The post holder will be responsible for delivering a range of workshops, seminars and accreditations as part of our cross-border PEACE Academy programme in Belfast and Sligo, funded by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB)
The aim of this new three-year programme, is to deliver and evidence a PEACE Academy pathway of engagement, learning, social action and employability that will inspire young people from communities in Northern Ireland and Ireland to create shared experiences and build a long-term response to sectarianism, racism and hate on a cross community and cross border basis.
We are seeking an experienced training professional who can lead on delivering our training offer for young people across these regions; supporting our youth workers to progress them from grassroots activities delivered in community settings through workshops, training, and accreditation and into onward career initiatives and pathways offered by our partners.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and administration of a range of workshops, seminars, and accreditations for young people in Sligo and Belfast in line with agreed targets.

Working with our regional coordinators on arranging suitable venues, support staff, resources and materials required for each workshop/seminar/course.

Delivery and assessment of training courses through Open College Network including internal verification.

Maintaining our iPads and online learner portal, ensuring e-workbooks are completed and uploaded and devices are wiped clean after each use.

Working with our wider project team on the administrative training function ensuring all e-workbooks are submitted in a timely manner, certificates distributed and invoices are sent to our Finance Officer marked clearly for this programme.

Working with regional Coordinators on the development of careers events and initiatives alongside a range of partner organisations and employers.

Collating and sharing key quantitative output data and qualitative feedback and case studies with our regional Coordinators and Monitoring Officer enabling them to track progress against targets and upload dedicated learner information to our VIEWs monitoring software in a timely and efficient manner.

Role Summary
The main function of the Bookings Team Executive role is to provide high quality customer service for the Into Film Festival. This will mean receiving calls, processing bookings and liaising with educators through email and by phone. It will also involve making outbound calls to drive bookings, speaking to attending teachers and liaising with cinemas to ensure the festival runs smoothly. This is an exciting, front-line, varied role requiring high level communication skills and a solution focused attitude. It is an opportunity to develop customer service and CRM (Salesforce/Aerian) skills and to work for the world’s largest film festival for young people. Main Responsibilities:
- To be the first point of contact for public festival enquiries; answering calls and emails, processing bookings and problem solving.

About the Role
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide court representation for clients, including emergency actions, by attending hearings at Liverpool Civil and Family Court.
- Prepare and present cases ready for court hearings by checking time limits, adherence to pre action protocols by creditors, completing relevant court forms and checking fees/remissions.
- Negotiate with and signpost/refer to third parties as appropriate.
- Assist client with alternative dispute resolution cases e.g. Financial Ombudsman Service.
- Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.
- Provide advice and assistance to other staff across a range of debt issues.
- Ensure that all work meets the quality standards of the AQS Debt Advice Services, the Citizens Advice quality assurance scheme and the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) quality framework.
- Meet the individual performance targets and engage positively in discussions with the Line Manager to maintain required levels.
- Provide regular reports and feedback to the Line Manager as required.
- Assist with social policy work by providing information about clients' circumstances through the appropriate channel.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies, Liverpool Civil and Family Court user groups, local authority and other local statutory and voluntary organisations to increase access to the service and to the range of support and advice needed according to individual circumstances.
- Work as part of the CAL Money Advice Team and contribute to effective service provision.
- Work independently in the Liverpool Civil and Family Court with clients as well as working from home and at different sites within Liverpool according to client appointment need.
General
- Ensure achievement of MaPS accreditation to Court Representation level within 3 months of starting the role, if not already achieved.
- Attend relevant internal and external meetings as agreed with the Line Manager.
- Maintain an up to date working knowledge of all new relevant legislation through reading monthly subscriptions including relevant case law.
- Keep up to date with Citizens Advice aims, policies and procedures and ensure these are followed.
- Ensure that work reflects and supports the Citizens Advice service's equality, diversity, and inclusion strategy.
- Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for your own health and safety and that of colleagues.
- Identify own learning and development needs and take steps to address these with your Line Manager, including engaging in team meetings and supervision sessions.
- Carry out any other tasks within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service.
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience of court representation, complex debt casework, covering priority and non-priority debt advice, options and insolvency solutions.
- Experience of achieving performance and quality targets/KPIs.
- Ability and willingness to undertake training and development to comply with MaPS Caseworker accreditation to court representation level, and Citizens Advice quality standards.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Numerate to the level required by the tasks.
- Ability to prioritise own work, meet deadlines, manage workload and targets in a pressured environment.
- Ordered approach to casework and an ability and willingness to follow and develop agreed procedures.
- IT literate with an ability to use software packages including Microsoft Office products in the provision of advice and preparation of formal written materials.
- Ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively and a willingness to challenge constructively.
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of and commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service and its equalities and diversity policy

- Citizens Advice Generalist Advice learning/certificate.

About us
The Court Specialist (Housing) Debt Adviser is responsible for providing a quality court representation service for clients facing court proceedings for housing and personal debt, including mortgages, secured and unsecured loans, who are not eligible for housing legal aid.
The project joins a programme funded by the Access to Justice Foundation that aims to sustain and improve access to early social welfare and family legal support and advice, to enable people to resolve these problems as early as possible and avoid the need for court or tribunal proceedings where possible. Where court or tribunal proceedings are needed, the project will provide the support needed to help people navigate the process effectively, including where support to prepare for court and at court is required. The focus of this project will be to provide housing debt court/tribunal support and representation to increase homelessness prevention.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident, motivated and willing to try new things, have excellent communication skills with an ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and outcomes with minimum supervision. You will need to have knowledge and experience of complex debt casework, and (county) court money claim, and possession proceedings as well as priority and non-priority debt advice, options and insolvency solutions.

Role Overview:

Our advice service provides over 2,000 kinship carers a year with easy access to expert advice and support to empower them to:
- realise their rights
- access the support to which they are entitled
- take the next step forward in tackling their challenges
- and navigate their way through a sometimes complex and confusing system.
We’re developing our advice service and investing in our team to make sure that we can support more kinship carers effectively. You’ll be part of a supportive team who keep kinship carers at the heart of their service.
The role of Advice Worker is pivotal in supporting kinship carers to access the right information, services and entitlements.
In this role, you’ll provide generalist advice and information to kinship carers in line with kinship carers’ preferred methods. Often, this will be by telephone, including taking live calls on our advice line, and by email. You will also need to respond to enquiries using video conferencing, text and other channels as we develop the service.
The type of person we’re looking for:
You will either have significant experience of providing advice to individuals on their rights, or you will have significant experience of providing support to kinship carers.
We will provide the training you need to undertake the role, as well as opportunities for development and progression.
You will need to be resilient and able to remain calm in difficult situations. You will have an eye for detail to identify the key issues requiring advice and the relevant legislation, guidance or practice. You will be firm, sensitive and professional in your approach and will be clear and assertive as you support kinship carers to get their needs met quickly and effectively.
The team work remotely, but there is the option to work from our office in London.
Key responsibilities include:
Advice provision:
· Respond to enquiries through a range of incoming channels. This includes taking calls on our advice line, as well as responding to enquiries submitted through our website, via internal referral or other channels.
· Provide high quality advice and information to kinship carers on their rights, entitlements and responsibilities in relation to: welfare benefits, local authority allowances, support from children’s services, kinship care arrangements and options, housing, sources of educational, parenting and legal support and other issues that may be required.
· Address all safeguarding concerns in line with policy.
· Make referrals and signpost to other services as necessary.
· Where appropriate, provide additional advice or support to enable the client to take action or undertake follow-up action on behalf of the client to move the case on.
· Facilitate access to our advice service for people with diverse needs.
Service quality, consistency and data management:
· Respond to all enquiries in line with Kinship’s advice service framework, standards and performance targets.
· Ensure independence, impartiality and confidentiality when dealing with kinship carers.
Professional and service development:
· Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and guidance.

Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience include:
· EITHER:
a) Minimum of 2 years recent experience of delivering advice work on social welfare issues (e.g. benefits, housing, education or social care) to members of the public.
OR:
b) Minimum of 2 years recent experience of providing support to kinship carers.

c) Experience equivalent to, or a combination of, a) or b) above.
· Experience of working with socially excluded or marginalised people and their
families.
· Detailed knowledge of the statutory systems that people with advice needs frequently encounter.
· Knowledge and evidence of good understanding of safeguarding issues and good practice.
