Reporting to the Executive Director: People & Organisational Development, some key responsibilities will include:

· Develop and deliver the next RBL Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and implementation plans

· Be the orchestrator of change for D&I work across all Directorates – influence, educate and engage leaders on how we communicate, engage and involve all of our people

· Ensure D&I is woven into everything we do, across the services we deliver, the partnerships we forge and the beneficiaries we serve

· Be a visible, ongoing, inclusion educator and champion ensuring regular communications across RBL to various communities, and support leaders and internal communications to weave inclusion across and through our communications channels

· Identification and design of training opportunities and materials to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion

You will be a great relationship builder, confidant and be able to work across a variety of responsibilities and initiatives, with pace and credibility. Your proven experience of leading D&I related initiatives and programmes will be well utilised and you will be given the support and development to lead us on the next stage of our D&I journey.

Baird and Co Recruitment, a specialist Social Housing recruitment firm, have been retained by The Yardley Great Trust Group and Sir Josiah Mason Trust in their acquisition of a Finance Director.

The role will work across both businesses following their partnership agreement in January 2023. Both businesses are steeped in the history of Birmingham, with the origins of The Yardley Great Trust Group going back to the 14th Century and SJMT’s beginnings in 1868. Their work in the Alms House arena is also highly individual, an area of support found in the heritage of SJMT.

The Finance Director role would ideally start swiftly and will take on a largely strategic direction whilst still requiring operational input.

Based in Olton, candidates with experience in a senior leadership role in finance whilst holding an understanding of how charities, housing providers or public sector organisations work will be highly advantageous.

The Finance Director post will cover many facets including, but not limited to:

Executive Leadership

• Working with the executive team to develop and manage the delivery of robust corporate, strategic and financial business plans
• Demonstrating positive leadership behaviours and bringing values to life within the organisational culture
• Effectively planning and providing for the resources required to action strategic and operational plans
• Undertaking quarterly reviews of the Charity's Risk Registers, reporting on major risks and mitigations at each Board meeting.

Financial Strategy and Control

• Leading on the delivery of strategic and annual financial business plans, ensuring viability is regularly tested through scenario modelling, appraisals, and stress tests
• Taking responsibility for annual budget and management accounts processes and preparation of statutory accounts
• Maintaining up-to-date reserves policies that meet the requirements of both the Charity SORP and RSL SORP
• Managing relationships with investment managers, ensuring regular review of performance and satisfaction
• Developing and maintaining effective systems of financial control that ensure that business plans are continually reviewed and reported on
• Maintaining overall responsibility for the computerised accounting system, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash book and nominal ledger

Treasury

• Being responsible for each Trust’s Treasury Management strategy and policy to ensure the availability of and flexibility of funding to support the achievement of strategic objectives and reduce exposure

Risk Management

• Leading on the development of risk management strategies and registers, audit frameworks, procedures and appraisal systems for capital projects and all other significant areas of risk.   

Growth and Innovation

• To support the Chief Executive in the development of the Strategic Business Plans in a way that supports innovation and growth in services

ICT / HR

• Leading on the development and delivery of an effective ICT and Telecoms Strategy which supports mobile and agile working and customer relationship management that underpins our drive for excellent business
• Supporting with the development, implementation and review of an effective People Strategy which supports the vision and values of each Trust
• Reviewing the administration of all statutory returns and sector-relevant returns/surveys
• Leading on the annual remuneration review to approve or decline and make recommendations for salary increases
• Taking responsibility for the outsourced payroll and workplace pension scheme
• Overseeing the relationship with the outsourced IT support provider, ensuring optimal support to staff and monitoring performance against contract
• Working with and developing the use of financial accounting software to meet the operational and strategic development needs of the business

To secure the Finance Director post, the Trusts are seeking the below:

• Proven experience at a senior leadership level in a finance environment
• Experience preparing financial business plans, modelling scenarios and sensitivity analysis
• A track record of delivering on a range of other corporate support services such as IT or HR and Governance
• A relevant Professional Qualification i.e. CCAB or equivalent and membership of a recognised UK body desirable
• Up-to-date knowledge of all regulatory requirements including Finance, People, IT & Governance
• Experience developing services to achieve and support strategic organisational objectives.

In the role, you will support the Head of Fundraising and Director of Income Generation to develop and deliver the major giving programme and will support the management of major donors and potential major donors, making sure that they receive the best possible experience as a Tŷ Hafan supporter.

The Head of Marketing role:

The Marketing & Digital Directorate objectives are to raise awareness of coeliac disease, extend our reach to a wider audience, grow our reputation with a variety of audiences, and maximise engagement. Key responsibilities of the Head of Marketing:

The role is very varied with good opportunities to generate creative solutions across our channels, including website, email, app, events, PR, magazines and social media.
• We are also implementing a number of new initiatives for the charity including revising our Vision, Mission and Values, plus developing a new brand proposition. This will be rolled out across the year and will require the Head of Marketing to work closely with the Director of Marketing & Digital and the CEO to implement this. Essential experience, skills and knowledge required for the Head of Marketing role:

• More than 10 years Marketing and Communications experience with at least three years at senior management level

Inter Mediate

Inter Mediate (IM) is a unique and discreet London-based peacemaking organisation established in 2011 to support behind-the-scenes peace negotiations in some of the world’s most challenging conflicts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the senior management team of a small high-impact organisation working at the leading edge of international peacemaking.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO and working closely with the CEO and the Financial Director, the Operations Manager will lead Inter Mediate’s institutional, Human Resources and project-support systems to keep the organisation running smoothly and ensure we are equipped to deliver the best results.

A successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with senior management experience in operations, preferably for a non-profit organisation. You will be familiar with the fast and sometimes unpredictable pace of an international operating environment, and confident in handling challenges as they arise. You will be comfortable working collaboratively within a small team and engaging credibly with a wide range of people from senior government officials to project interlocutors in the field.

Key Responsibilities

A) Governance and Institutional Compliance (with the Deputy CEO and senior management)

• Lead the development and implementation of IM’s operational planning, in coordination with the CEO, Deputy CEO, Finance Director, staff, Trustees and supporters.
• Ensure that Inter Mediate complies with its charitable and legal obligations.
• Prepare, attend and minute Trustee and Committee meetings.
• Develop and implement quality improvement process for institutional policies and project delivery to keep Inter Mediate ethical, efficient and delivering value for money.
• Source, manage and review all professional services and suppliers engaged by Inter Mediate including banking, legal advice, accounting and auditing.

B) Human Resources and Office Operations

• Oversee Inter Mediate’s recruitment process and work with the Deputy CEO to ensure that we have fair procedures for benefits, training, probation, diversity and inclusion, gender pay gap, safeguarding, grievance and disciplinary matters.
• Oversee the contracting and on-boarding for new staff, consultants and trustees.
• Manage day-to-day HR functions and queries, including leave recording systems.
• Conduct staff remuneration and salary benchmarking exercises with the Deputy CEO.
• Update and maintain the employment handbook policies and procedures.
• Oversee office operations, equipment and facilities management.

C) IT, Security and Risk Management

• Ensure that the IT and communications systems are optimally configured for effectiveness and security, and that staff can operate them as necessary.
• Ensure Inter Mediate has robust risk mitigation systems and training for staff.
• Ensure Risk Assessments and security plans are completed by staff prior to staff travel.
• Ensure Inter Mediate has a viable business continuity plan.
• Maintain and review the Risk Register for the organisation with the Deputy CEO.

D) Financial Management (with the Finance Director)

• Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure that operational and financial planning processes and decisions are mutually informed and fully aligned.
• Strategise with the Finance Director and Deputy CEO to ensure all wings of the organisation work together to advance the best interest of the institution, its staff, projects and donors.

Experience, qualifications and skills:

• At least 8 years experience leading charity operations at a senior level spanning institutional compliance, Human Resources, IT, security and project support services, ideally in the non-profit sector.
• Track record of excellent business decisions for institutions under UK charity law operating in an international, multi-donor environment.
• Extensive experience of supporting Boards and Board committees at a senior level in a non-profit context.
• Some knowledge of project support mechanisms required for smooth delivery of peacebuilding, humanitarian, human rights or political projects in high-risk environments.

• Evidence of ability to both lead and service a complex network of external relationships.

• Graduate with a relevant degree and, preferably with relevant post graduate qualifications or relevant experience.

• Excellent business planning and decision skills, and a sound understanding of operational and financial management in charities.

Working at Inter Mediate

A normal working week consists of 35 hours (or pro rata for part-time). Our office operates between 8am and 6.30pm with core hours from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Inter Mediate operates a hybrid working model, with at least 2 set days per week in the office in London.

Key Responsibilities 

Leadership

· Champion fundraising across the organisation.

· Be an inspiring ambassador for Weston Park Cancer Charity and ensure this is reflected in the strategies, outputs, and behaviour of the fundraising team.

· Actively contribute to leading Weston Park Cancer Charity as a member of the Leadership Team.

· Build and inspire a high-performing and results-oriented Fundraising Team focused on delivering sustainable income to maintain and build on recent organisational growth.

· Set, monitor, and deliver annual income and expenditure targets.

· Foster a culture of ambition and innovation and support the team to research, develop, and implement new fundraising approaches to recruit new donor groups across all income streams.

· Support the team to develop professional and engaging fundraising materials including fundraising propositions, applications, proposals, appeals, pitches, and reports.

· Take overall responsibility for fundraising compliance and ensure that in all relevant areas, the charity complies with the law, regulation, and stakeholder and contractual obligations with third parties.

· Collaborate with the Data Manager to maintain oversight of the supporter database to ensure integrity, legal compliance, and generation of appropriate insight to support delivery of income growth.·  

Fundraising Development

· Work with the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Development, external advisor(s), commissioned agencies and the appeal committee to deliver a multi-year major fundraising appeal

· Work with the Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manger to deliver and implement a legacy pipeline and growth in In-Memory giving income

· Work with the Individual Giving Fundraising Manager to deliver and implement a strategy which prioritises both the retention and acquisition of new donors, enhances the use of digital products, platforms, and channels and delivers the highest standard of supporter care and donor stewardship.

· Lead on the introduction of a charity lottery.

Under the direction of the Chief Executive, the Deputy Chief Executive (Operations and Services) will be responsible for the overall financial management, business reporting and operational services for the organisation. The person within this role will develop controls, policies and procedures that work for a variety of audiences including student volunteers, staff and trustees. Organisation Overview

CDS UK (the Clinic for Dissociative Studies) is a psychotherapy service, established 25 years ago to provide assessment and long-term specialist outpatient treatment to people with dissociative disorders. Its patients have often suffered the most extreme forms of abuse over a long period, and represent one of the most vulnerable and complex client groups. CDS UK is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and an Independent Provider to the NHS, and is subcontracted by NHS commissioning organisations nationally on a discretionary perpatient basis, where local mental health services are unable to provide appropriate treatment. CDS UK has a small core team of employees, mainly based around London, and a larger group of associate therapists, support workers and supervisors working throughout England and in Scotland. The organisation has seen steady growth in referrals over the past few years.

Job Summary

One of the key elements of the role will be to manage a caseload of referrals from receipt of referral through to submission of funding application and referral outcome. The postholder will be one of two people within CDS UK’s core team with responsibility for this. 

There will also be an allocations management function, involving matching new (and/or existing) patients with suitable clinical staff, usually from within CDS UK’s group of associates, but sometimes via the recruitment of new practitioners.

The role will include a range of other tasks key to the successful functioning and development of CDS UK. Amongst these are maintaining a log of, and costing where appropriate, allpotential service developments (from requests for training to submissions to funders), developing reporting from basic information systems, checking and sending of patient progress reports and monitoring of patient funding. They also include developing our outgoing communications – such as via our website – and helping to explore opportunities for developing our charitable arm.

As part of our small Business and Administrative Team, the role will encompass some ad hoc administrative tasks, and may require delegation of some tasks and/or some line management duties as required.

The post-holder will work on their own initiative and independently deal with issues of workload and problem-solving, becoming a specialist in their areas of work within an agreed period, supported with appropriate training if required. Role Summary

As the Director of Research and Public Affairs you lead a team working across the full range of research work (including commissioning, grant-making and in-house research) and public affairs work (including policy analysis, advocacy work and mobilising our activists). You also contribute to the charity’s strategies, leadership and governance as a member of the Executive Team. Ultimately, your role is to generate new knowledge; and communicate knowledge, ideas and emotions to change hearts and minds, creating tangible reductions in alcohol harm across the UK.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Leadership, strategy & planning

1. Lead the research and public affairs functions at Alcohol Change UK.

2. Produce and deliver plans across our research and public affairs work programmes that are ambitious for change (impact), realistic given our resources, and consistent with our strategy, our other work programmes, and our values.

3. Set budgets, tightly control costs and identify opportunities for making savings, growing income and making the case for investment.

4. Appropriately monitor and evaluate our research and public affairs work with a view to knowing, growing and showing the impact we make.

Research

5. Work closely with the CEO, Policy and Research Manager, R&P sub-committee and Wales Office to determine and oversee the charity’s programme of commissioned research, research grants, and in-house research.

6. Ensure that all research is designed with impact-in-mind and, once complete, that it delivers on that impact through active and ongoing communication of the findings to the right audiences with the right messages through the right channels.

7. Lead the research function to be the central hub for the charity on the topic of alcohol harm and its solutions, staying on top of new research.

8. Influence the research spending of other agencies (e.g. NIHR) with a view to maximising funding into alcohol research in general.

Public Affairs

9. Lead and manage the charity’s public affairs activity, deploying the CEO, Research & Policy Officer and other staff as a team.

10.  Lead our work with external alliances, such as the Alcohol Health Alliance and the Alcohol and Families Alliance, and on the APPG on Alcohol Harm.

11.  Develop excellent relationships with Parliamentarians, civil servants, charities and other important institutional actors in our field.

12.  Build Campaigner journeys for our engagement audience to best mobilise them to help us with our influencing work.

13.  Lead on the commissioning and management of any external public affairs agencies, parliamentary monitoring services and similar suppliers.

14.  Ensure our policy positions are kept up-to-date, based on emerging evidence and contemporary thinking, and consistent with our principles.

About the Role

This role supports strategy and implementation of behavioural change best practice in our country programmes with a focus on gender-transformative approaches and reaching key populations and vulnerable groups such as adolescents, people in extreme poverty, people living with disability, and those with low-literacy.

This role will provide focused technical assistance to MSI country programmes, supporting formative analysis, strategy development, coordination, capacity strengthening, mentorship, and implementation of gender-transformative and inclusive programme activities for behaviour change. It will also support donor and fundraising teams within MSI to include appropriate GESI language and best practice approaches into new proposal design.

The GESI Programming Specialist will also work with the Evidence and Impact team to document and share successes and challenges in gender and inclusion programming and support the dissemination of best practice approaches. The learnings and outcomes generated from key projects will be used to strengthen gender equality and social inclusion programming across MSI’s global partnership, significantly contributing to delivery of MSI’s 2030 strategy.

This role reports to the Head of SBC and Inclusion in the Technical Services Department, which supports gender, inclusion, and SBC programming across MSI.
