The Learning Design Specialist to design and coordinate development of learning solutions for humanitarian emergency preparedness.

The Learning Design Specialist at UK-Med is pivotal in enhancing the preparedness and competence of healthcare professionals for humanitarian emergency response initiatives.

The Learning Design Specialist focuses on efficiently designing and coordinating development of targeted training programs for both internal organisational audiences and external partners. The goal is to ensure that our Core Staff and a Register of approximately 1200 healthcare professionals worldwide are thoroughly equipped to provide exceptional care, leading to positive outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.

The Learning Design Specialist willinnovate and refine UK-Med's training content, ensuring it meets the specific needs of a diverse, global workforce. Expand the learning portfolio, incorporating digital, in-person, and simulation-based training tailored to strategic priorities. Establish and nurture partnerships to enhance our bespoke learning offerings, ensuring they meet the dynamic needs of our partners and maintain industry-leading standards.

The Learning Design Specialist will provide expert advice and support on designing effective learning solutions for external partners and conduct engaging and effective training sessions, both online and face-to-face, catering to the varied learning preferences and needs of the participants.

You will have a positive and flexible problem-solving approach and be willing, able, and ready to deploy to support all UK-Med programmes and projects.

The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham is an Anglican centre of Pilgrimage in North Norfolk which traces its roots back to the vision of the Lady Richeldis in 1061. Purpose or Role

To ensure that effective financial systems are in place across the site which provide Directors and Department Heads with information necessary for making decisions. Person Specification

A strong background in Finance with good knowledge of Charity Accounts

General

The Shrine employs around 75 members of staff and every year it welcomes a steady stream of volunteers who offer help in return for board and lodging.

There are 137 bedrooms on site and around 10,500 pilgrims come each year for a residential pilgrimage typically lasting two to three nights. Meals are provided in the Pilgrim Refectory which can seat around 200 residents and produces up to 85,000 meals a year. In addition, the Shrine welcomes a good number of day pilgrims per year.

As well as the pilgrimage programme, which is run at weekends and midweek, each year the Shrine runs a series of special events and retreats. There is an important outreach to young pilgrims which is headed up by the Director of Education. This includes educational visits from schools and a range of events for different ages, the most ambitious of which is the annual Youth Pilgrimage.

Within the beautiful gardens there is a Cafe Bar which is open to pilgrims, tourists and visitors. The Shrine Shop is situated in the heart of the village and offers a wide selection of religious items and gifts.

Your Role

You will be responsible for No Limits’ finances, leading on strategic and operational financial management of the charity and preparing and analysing information relating to financial planning. • Experience of costing projects with a full-cost recovery approach
• Ability to plan and prioritise own and others work to set deadlines, with good time management skills
• High level of IT competency to support your role, including the use of technology and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and team working
• A commitment to personal growth, continuous development, and application of learning

You may also have:

• Up-to-date knowledge of charity SORP regulations and requirements (highly desirable)

The Role 

An exciting Café Manager position has opened at our Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre, which houses a fully integrated Cancer Rehabilitation Centre, Shop, Donation Centre, Office, and our first-ever Café, named Café Hornbeam. 

We are looking for an experienced Café Manager who will provide excellent customer service, prepare delicious food, and create a warm and welcoming space, inspiring their Deputy Café Manager and team of employees and volunteers to do the same. This role will be accountable for the overall management of the Café, including process and policy adherence and development, and Food Safety. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Uphold and manage café operating procedures and policies, including Food Safety, Allergens, Health and Safety and Trading Standards.

• Manage the product mix, introducing new products where appropriate and maximising profit margins.

• Identify appropriate food and drinks suppliers and build and manage supplier relationships.

• Maintain an up-to-date awareness of developments within the café/food service industry to make or recommend appropriate changes to the delivery of café services and products.

• Ensure the café is presented to the highest standards with attractive merchandising of food and drinks. 

• Effectively manage time to work alongside the team, whilst completing managerial duties.

• Plan and oversee the implementation of new menus, specials, and food and drink related offers.

• Manage the Deputy Café Manager and Café Assistants, including supporting them with their continued development, managing rotas and timesheets, providing training and providing appropriate support when needed.

The role will be focussed on the Oldham East community (surrounding Oasis Academies Clarksfield and Leesbrook), working together as part of Oasis Hub Oldham.

Key responsibilities will be:

· To build positive and supportive working partnerships with the local community, supporting them to access Hub services and activities to develop their skills, knowledge and aspirations.

· To work with the Strategic Community Development Lead to create a plan to deliver joined up services that address the needs of the local neighbourhood, including community projects, holiday provision, and volunteer, family and youth support.

· Provide leadership and line management to community and youth project workers, building a positive and well-functioning team that models the Oasis ethos and values.

· Lead on all aspects of the day-to-day administration and supervision of a team of volunteers and their activities, developing and inspiring them to develop best possible practice to meet the needs of the local Hub deploying volunteers’ strengths and acting as an authentic role model.

The successful post holder must have:

· Self-motivation, resilience, with excellent organisational and inter-personal skills.

· Successful experience of working with parents / carers (voluntary or paid work)

· Proven experience of community development

· Experience working with challenging behaviours and attitudes

· Knowledge of safeguarding practices and health and safety

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the nature and impact of sexual violence and experience of working with victims. They will be required to work within a multi-agency setting to provide a pro-active service to survivors of sexual violence within and outside of the criminal justice system to:

Develop and deliver a non-therapeutic advocacy and support service to clients

Help clients to access appropriate therapeutic interventions and to develop their own support network

Where necessary provide emotional, practical and advocacy support through the Criminal Justice System

Monitor and keep the client informed of case progress if involved with the Criminal Justice Process

Provide information about the impacts of sexual violence and signpost to specialist support services

Maintain a caseload and accurate electronic records

Support client to access their rights

Contribute towards service development

Participate in individual clinical supervision, appraisal sessions and team meetings

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative, project and event planning support to the Director of Network Programmes & Innovation. • Monitor and evaluate the impact of Solving Kids’ Cancer UK’s patient-centric research programme, working closely with the Communications and Campaigns Manager to effectively communicate this to a wide range of audiences.
