Join the dedicated team at Historic Croydon Airport and contribute to preserving and sharing the rich history of one of the world’s oldest airports. As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that visitors have a memorable and safe experience while exploring this historic site.
With a choice of either the morning (9am-1pm) or afternoon shift (1-5pm), we ask that volunteers work at least 10 hours per month - on the first Sunday of each month and an additional weekend.
Responsibilities:

Visitor Engagement:
- Greet and treat all visitors equally, with respect, and without discrimination.
- Provide knowledgeable and engaging information about the history of Croydon Airport.
- Assist with visitor inquiries and enhance their overall experience.

Safety and Security:
- Be vigilant about the safety of visitors both inside and outside Airport House.
- Inform visitors of potential hazards, such as crossing kerbs or the road outside Airport House and using stairs within the building.
- Ensure visitors are aware of emergency exits and the evacuation procedure. Tour Guides should mention this at the start of each tour, and other volunteers should do so when appropriate.

Operational Support:
- Arrive on time for Open Days to assist with setting up and closing down activities.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the site throughout the day.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- A keen interest in history and heritage, particularly in aviation and the history of Croydon Airport.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Commitment to treating all visitors with respect and without discrimination.
- Punctuality and reliability.
Training: All volunteers will undergo an induction process, including a review of the HCAT Induction document covering emergency exits and evacuation procedures.

Role Description:
The Partnerships Support Volunteer will assist the Partnership lead in coordinating, managing, and expanding Wekume’s partnerships with local and international organizations, companies, institutions, and individuals. The volunteer will support communication, research, documentation, and follow-ups to ensure smooth and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
▪️Assist in identifying potential partners and maintaining a pipeline of opportunities.
▪️Support outreach efforts — drafting emails, booking meetings, and tracking responses.
▪️Attend partnership meetings (physical or virtual) with the Lead when required, and take notes or manage follow-ups.
▪️Help prepare partnership documents such as concept notes, briefs, proposals, and reports.
▪️Maintain and update the partnership database and contact lists.
▪️Support donor research, grant mapping, and stakeholder analysis.
▪️Coordinate with program, communications, and finance teams to ensure partners are engaged and informed.
▪️Follow up on partnership deliverables and timelines.
▪️Assist in organizing partnership-related events, campaigns, or activations.
▪️Perform any other duties assigned by the lead.

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Website Designer to help us transition our current website onto the Hostinger website builder platform and significantly enhance its visibility through effective SEO strategies. This role is ideal for someone with experience in web design who would like to support a thriving community arts organisation and contribute to increasing our reach and impact.
You’ll work both independently and collaboratively with our team, ensuring the website aligns visually and strategically with our brand, communications, and accessibility goals.
We will consider applicants who wish to hold a temporary position (12 weeks minimum).
Key Responsibilities:

Rebuild and restructure our existing website using the Hostinger website builder

Improve site navigation, layout, page structure, and user experience

Optimise all pages for SEO performance, including keywords, metadata, and search visibility

Ensure mobile optimisation and fast loading performance

Integrate analytics tools to monitor site traffic and user engagement
