We are seeking a Fundraising Volunteer to join our small, friendly team. In this rewarding role, you’ll play an important part in our busy organisation. You will be helping to strengthen relationships with our valued supporters, assist with a variety of fundraising activities, and contribute directly to our mission: to find a cure for Parkinson’s. Your support will help us raise vital funds and awareness, ensuring every supporter feels appreciated and engaged.

What you’ll be involved in

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll be able to choose activities that match your skills and interests. Your tasks may include:

• Calling donors and fundraisers to thank them for their support
• Sending out fundraising materials and charity updates via post and email
• Processing donations, updating supporter records, and assisting with Gift Aid forms
• Engaging local businesses, schools, sports clubs and community groups to support our fundraising efforts
• Researching new partnership opportunities and potential supporters
• Assisting on the day of events with setting up stalls or cheering on participants Whether you prefer working behind the scenes or being out in the community, there are plenty of ways to get involved and make a difference.

Personal qualities we’re looking for

Bright Futures UK is looking for compassionate and knowledgeable professionals in the gaming industry to mentor a young person living with long-term illnesses. 

What will you be doing? 

• Run mentoring sessions online to support a young person back into university

• Offer advice and insights related to game and character design or animation through tailored sessions

• Help the young person explore potential career paths in the gaming and animation industries

• Share your own experiences and knowledge to inspire and motivate. 

• Adhere to safeguarding policies and report any concerns to BFUK

What are we looking for? 

• Expertise in gaming industry: Profound knowledge and experience in the gaming industry preferably in areas like character design. 

• Mentoring and Communication: Ability to mentor effectively, offering guidance and support to a young person with clarity and empathy. 

• Flexibility and Commitment: Willingness to commit to 5-6 months of 1-hour sessions

Maidstone Homeless Care is a well-established charity supporting homeless and vulnerable people in the Maidstone area . We run an active day centre, busy food bank and a small residential unit supporting homeless people. 

We have one formal evening meeting each month . The role of trustee is a voluntary role and consistent support is available from the trustee group as well as appropriate training.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Knitting Volunteer to facilitate a Knitting group in one of our Domestic Abuse refuges. Knitting is good way to relieve stress, increase confidence and create a sense of purpose.

• Supporting others to improve their knitting and crochet skills and adhere to all abilities
• Facilitate a fun and enjoyable interactive group

Respond is a national charity supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced abuse, violence or trauma. Respond offers psychotherapy and advocacy support and provides specialist trauma informed training for services.

Chair of North Surrey Domestic Abuse Service

Our Charity

North Surrey Domestic Abuse Service (NSDAS) supports anyone affected by domestic abuse and their children living in the boroughs of Elmbridge, Spelthorne and Epsom and Ewell. We provide free, confidential and independent advice, skilled practical help and ongoing emotional support and information, regardless of sex, race, ability, gender, religion or income level.

Historically the service was provided as part of Citizens Advice Elmbridge (West). We have operated as an independent charity since April 2024 (charity number 1203855) and this is an exciting time to help shape the strategy and direction of the organisation.

The board currently comprises of nine Trustees.The current Chair is looking to step down by Christmas 2025 but will remain as a Trustee to provide continuity and support.

The Role

In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, duties of the chair include the following. 

·Providing leadership to the organisation and the board, ensuring that everyone remains focused on the delivery of the organisation’s charitable purposes to provide greater public benefit. 

·Chairing and facilitating board meetings. 

·Checking that decisions taken at meetings are implemented. 

·Representing the organisation at functions and meetings. Acting as a spokesperson as appropriate. 

·Bringing impartiality and objectivity to decision-making. 

With the chief executive

·Planning the annual cycle of board meetings and other general meetings where required.

·Setting agendas for board meetings and other general meetings. 

·Developing the board of trustees. This includes induction, training, appraisal and succession planning. 

·Addressing conflict within the board and the organisation.

·Liaising with the chief executive to keep an overview of the organisation’s affairs and providing support where required. 

·Developing relationships with our partner organisations. 

·Sitting on appointment and disciplinary panels and conducting exit interviews when required.

Our volunteer Learning Hosts support the work of the Learning and Engagement team, ensuring school visits to the RAF Museum run smoothly and enjoyably for students and teachers alike.

Every year RAF Museum welcomes over 40,000 students at our London site in Hendon. The Learning and Engagement team host self-guided and structured school visits as well as various learning events during school holidays. Our Volunteer Learning Hosts help us to engage and inspire young visitors with RAF stories and ensure that their visit is unforgettable.

What will I be doing?

You will be assisting the Learning and Engagement team to

• Meet school groups on arrival, and provide itinerary and site orientation,

• Be a point of contact for teachers and adult helpers throughout the visit,

• Ensure the smooth passage of school groups around the Museum,

• Set-up, restock and pack-down activities

• Deliver object-handling encounters

• Present a positive image of the Museum and team to all visitors

• Support the Museum in its commitment to safeguarding children.

It Gets Better UK is a lived-experience-led LGBT+ youth charity, working to tackle the disproportionate mental health challenges LGBT+ young people face today, through a collection of community-sourced, lived-experience stories; educational programs; and community-building initiatives.

We’re looking for a volunteer to help build and strengthen relationships with corporate partners who want to support It Gets Better UK. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, spotting opportunities, and helping businesses make a positive impact for LGBTQ+ young people.

• Support the team with preparing partnership proposals and presentations.
• Help track and maintain relationships with existing partners, including sending thank-yous and updates.
