RollaDome All Skate is looking for a proactive and motivated Volunteer HR Assistant to support our HR team with administrative duties. This volunteer position provides valuable experience in human resources, recruitment, and employee support. You will assist with managing HR processes, recruitment activities, and employee-related queries, contributing to the smooth operation of the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job ads and scheduling interviews 

• Maintain HR records and update employee files 

• Respond to general HR inquiries and provide assistance to staff 

• Support in the onboarding process for new employees and volunteers 

• Assist with employee benefits administration and paperwork 

• Help organize training and development sessions for staff 

• Assist with data entry and HR reporting 

• Support with exit interviews and employee feedback collection 

Skills & Qualifications 

• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

• Interest in pursuing a career in HR, administration, or management 

• Previous HR or administrative experience is an advantage

What the role involves

This is a varied role where local need shapes what you’ll be working on, but it can include:

• Supporting the Chair/Coordinator in organising branch activities, from setting up branch meetings to planning and completing referrals

• Helping the Chair/Coordinator oversee the recruitment, induction, and ongoing support of new volunteers

• Deputising for the Chair/Coordinator when necessary

• Acting as a key contact between staff and volunteers

What you’ll need for this role

Essential

• Confident in leading and chairing a meeting when required

• Confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email

• Willingness to attend local events to promote the charity’s work

• Ability to understand and follow external and internal policies and procedures

• Able to keep people’s personal details safe

As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. What you will be doing

• To develop and promote a positive relationship with the service user through regular meetings
• To encourage service users to engage in social activities and supporting them in doing so
• To support your befriendee in developing their goals and social skills
• Encourage your befriendee to make links with community services, based on their identified goals
• To support and help the service user to get familiar with their new environment/area/community and show them where the local shops, GP, etc are located
• To plan activities with your befriendee, such as a walk, visiting museums
• Manage appropriate boundaries

• Willingness to engage in activities in the community
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality and follow operating guidelines
• To be consistent and dependable when working with a service user
• Lived in experience and ability to speak another language such as Hindu, Urdu, Farsi, etc would be desirable but not required
