Our amazing team of volunteers help us run over 100 shops across England and Wales.  Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.

What your role will involve

There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
• Receiving donated goods from members of the public
• Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
• Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
• Processing sales and serving on the till
• Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
• Following new health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone

We are seeking a Fundraising Trustee to help us enhance and increase our overall fundraising.

About Youth Concern

We are an independent charity based in Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire that supports 13-25 year olds. We are inclusive; we aim to support all 13-25 year olds, but specialise in helping those facing additional challenges.

What will you be doing?

As a trustee, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation and the lives of those we serve. Your expertise, passion, and fresh perspective will be invaluable assets as we navigate challenges,

seize opportunities, and continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the Vale’s young people.

Youth Concern is in a good financial position with healthy reserves and a mature and successful grant fundraising programme. We would like to broaden and diversify our income generation through individual giving, major donors, corporate, community and events.

Role summary

• To support the CEO in their grant and individual fundraising work and oversee the organisation’s fundraising plans and strategy 
• To ensure fundraising remains an organisational priority at all times and all fundraising work is legally compliant and executed to a high standard 
• To provide guidance and advice to the trustee board on fund raising generally 
• To oversee organisational fundraising and ensure it is carried out in legal, best practice, transparent and accountable ways

The expected time commitment

Attend 6 board meetings annually. Currently meetings are held in person, with the option to attend remotely. 

Attend sub-committees, once every two months. 

Scheduled meetings as required with the CEO with flexibility to respond swiftly to the occasional ad hoc fundraising related issue.

Attend an annual half day strategy session.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a trustee with a strong commitment to supporting young people in Aylesbury Vale and who

has the following qualities / experience:

• Someone with sufficient fundraising/income generation knowledge and/or business development background
• An understanding of the UK charity sector, good governance, Charity Commission, Companies House requirements, relevant legislations and statutory requirements
• A thorough understanding of the Code of Fundraising Practice
• An understanding of the challenges facing medium sized charities in the UK in maximising income streams and donor cultivation
• Experience of diverse fundraising practices, including trusts and foundations, individual giving, major donors, corporate, community and events
• Excellent networking skills, influencing and communication skills
• Experience with staff management at a senior level professional

You do not need to have been on a board before and as a new trustee will be supported by your fellow trustees and the dedicated executive team.

About the Role:
Are you a visual artist passionate about using your creativity to inspire and make a difference?

Penificent is seeking talented freelance artists to lead our comic and zine-making workshops. These sessions empower young people to express themselves while tackling real-world issues like identity, mental health, social media, and financial literacy ,all through storytelling and illustration. Being arisit  is not esstinial but could be really useful.

You’ll not only facilitate impactful workshops, but you’ll also have the chance to represent Penificent at Comic Con events, collaborate with fellow creatives, and even have your work featured in our published comics and online content.

Key Responsibilities:
�� Lead comic and zine-making workshops in schools and community spaces
�� Help participants create original characters and stories around social themes
�� Use art to spark dialogue and build confidence
�� Prepare and manage workshop materials (resources provided)

At Hestia we have gardens and outdoor spaces which require your support to bring these back to life by keeping them maintained. We are recruiting for volunteers to motivate and inspire staff and people living in our services to get involved in gardening.

Engaging in gardening has shown to have both immediate and long-term effects on mental health. Gardening for several hours has been known to reduce depression, stress and anxiety.

At Hestia we also have a PIPE programme where we encourage service users to work collaboratively and get involved in taking control and making decisions about physical environments across the organisation.

Penificent is seeking dynamic and socially conscious workshop facilitators to lead sessions exploring topics like identity, mental health, financial literacy, and storytelling. Through creative exercises like zine-making, comic-based discussions, or social media reflections, you’ll help participants build confidence, express themselves, and explore complex issues in engaging ways.

You don’t need to be an artist — but if you have creative skills (like drawing, digital illustration, or comic creation), that’s a great bonus. What matters most is your ability to connect with people, lead group sessions, and deliver workshops that educate and inspire.

You may also have opportunities to join us at Comic Con events, contribute to our growing content platforms, and help bring our Peace of War universe to life in fun and meaningful ways.

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Support, guidance and keeping you safe

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us.

Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that The Connection achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity. They also ensure that The Connection has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision and mission.

While trustees share collective responsibility, the Treasurer leads the Board’s work on financial matters, provides support and challenge to the finance team, engages our auditors and chairs the Finance, Audit and Risk board subcommittee.

The Board of Trustees at the Connection have adopted the Charity Governance Code for larger charities which sets out the principles and key elements of good governance. Trustees will support the integration of the key principles of the Code which are described under the following areas: organisational purpose; leadership; integrity; decision making, risk and control; board effectiveness; equality, diversity and inclusion; openness and accountability.

Join Candlelighters as a Fundraising & Events Office Volunteer!

Are you looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families affected by childhood cancer? We invite you to be part of our team!

As a Fundraising & Events Volunteer, you will support the team during an exciting phase as we aim to increase income and enhance our services for families. You will support corporate fundraising efforts, ensuring local businesses have an excellent experience supporting Candlelighters.

You will also play a key role in organising our Business Collaboration Events—fun, networking-focused gatherings that bring together current and potential supporters to foster collaboration.

Location: 8 Woodhouse Square, Leeds, LS3 1AD

Time commitment: 1 day per week (flexible)

Key Activities

General Fundraising

• Research potential new business partnerships.
• Approach businesses to explore partnerships with Candlelighters.
• Support the team in managing our business club.
• Thank supporters through letters or emails.
• Respond to supporter inquiries via telephone and email.
• Update the supporter database.
• Approach businesses to secure raffle and auction prizes.

Business Collaboration Project Event

• Book venues and negotiate with suppliers to secure free support wherever possible.
• Secure sponsorships for the event.
• Manage event invitations, including design and distribution.
• Organise the event itinerary, including speakers, games, and networking activities.
• Communicate with guests in the lead-up to the event.
• Liaise with the Marketing team to develop promotional materials.
• Perform other administrative tasks to support the fundraising team.

We are looking for volunteers who are: 

• Confident, friendly, and organised.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Reliable, proactive, and calm under pressure.
• Experience organising events is desirable.

Make a real difference to children in Wales with a life-shortening condition by becoming a Fundraising Volunteer today!

As a Fundraising Volunteer you’ll assist with fundraising events and collections throughout the year, as and when you can.

You’ll engage with members of the public and use your knowledge of your local area to promote the work of Ty Hafan.

By becoming a fundraising volunteer, you'll help us raise essential funds for children with life-shortening conditions and their families.

• Take part in our bucket collections throughout the year in town/city centres, supermarkets, shopping centres and other venues. You'll be added to our mailing list and receive occasional emails throughout the year with information about upcoming volunteering opportunities. You can then register your interest when you see something that appeals to you

• Use your knowledge of your local area to place collection tins in your community, visiting the premises on a regular basis and count and bank the money on our behalf

• You will promote Ty Hafan fundraising events and campaigns in your community (for example Tea for Ty Hafan) and encourage others to register to hold their own tea party

•You will encourage local community groups and organisations to support and fundraise for Ty Hafan, using your existing networks and knowledge of your community

• You will work closely with the Regional Fundraiser to maximise all opportunities within your area

This role is purely voluntary and this arrangement is not a legally binding one or an employment contract.

The Landmark Arts Centre is seeking a new Chair of Trustees to continue their journey. The independent charity responsible for operating one of the largest multidisciplinary arts venues in south-west London.

The Landmark is an independent Arts Charity responsible for operating one of the largest multidisciplinary arts venues in south-west London. For 30 years, they have been a vital cultural and creative hub for all. Housed in a stunning Grade II* listed building in Teddington, they welcome over 50,000 people annually to a rich programme of performances, classes, workshops, art fairs, exhibitions, and entertainment.

Be an enthusiastic advocate and ambassador of the Landmark Arts Centre and the arts in general.

Shape the future next steps to build on what they have already achieved and ensure they are able to deliver on the potential that their magnificent space offers to audiences and artists.

Work with the community and its leaders, the trustees, and the staff team in promoting well-considered strategic decision-making, effective oversight, and a culture of inclusion.

Body & Soul is a charity dedicated to transforming the life-threatening effects of adverse childhood experiences. Whether someone has been neglected or abused, trafficked, attempted suicide, or stigmatised because of HIV – we have helped to liberate thousands of people from the trauma that controls them. Our community provides people of all ages with a wide range of innovative and creative programmes that support physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. We have developed a ‘whole person’ model of care rooted in a strengths-based approach that nurtures connection, healing, and growth. Through building members’ protective factors, we promote and develop resiliency, interrupt latent vulnerability, and transform lives. 

We are looking for two dynamic and committed Campaign interns to support the planning and delivery of a high-impact, cross-media campaign launching this September in collaboration with a leading PR agency. The campaign aims to raise public awareness, grow our reach, and boost funding for our life-saving programmes, placing Body & Soul firmly on the map as a key voice in suicide prevention. As a Campaign Intern, you'll have the opportunity to be at the heart of the action through strategic planning and hands-on execution, working closely with our Head of Engagement. You’ll gain invaluable insight into the workings of a creative, mission-driven charity and play an active role in making this campaign a success. This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a bold, creative campaign with real-world impact.

Our intern will be… 

• Supporting the development of key campaign assets and long-term engagement strategies. 

• Helping to coordinate project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are clear. 

• Organising roles, responsibilities, and task allocation across teams. 

• Working collaboratively with volunteers to execute the campaign’s marketing and communication plans. 

• Assisting with planning and delivery of media activation events, helping coordinate people, schedules, and logistics, and supporting on the day. 

• Reaching out to and securing partnerships and collaborations ensuring the campaign reaches as many people as possible and has exceptional celebrity ambassadors to speak about the campaign, share on social media, and represent Body & Soul on a global scale. 

We are looking for an intern who… 

• Is passionate about activism and social impact. 

• Has an interest in and/or experience in media and public relations. 

• Show initiative and a tenacious, can-do attitude. 

• Is organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities. 

• Thrives in collaborative environments and are not afraid to take ownership of tasks. 

• Has strong interpersonal skills and isn’t afraid of getting stuck in. 

• Can commit to three days a week, including Wednesday. 

This internship is ideal for students, recent graduates, or career changers looking to gain valuable experience in the charity sector. You'll receive mentorship and a space to grow in a supportive, inclusive environment. We also offer regular learning and development opportunities for interns designed to provide a deeper insight into Body & Soul’s unique approach.

Volunteering for Sense

Our amazing team of volunteers help us run over 100 shops across England and Wales.  Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.

What your role will involve

There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:

• Welcoming and assisting customers, providing great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience
• Receiving donated goods from members of the public
• Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale
• Creating eye catching window and in-shop displays
• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, tidy, clean and organised
• Processing sales and serving on the till
• Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives
• Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community
• Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers
• Following new health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone
