We’re seeking a proactive and highly organised Office & Facilities Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our office. Please note the location listed above is our registered address and not the location of this role.

Working Pattern

• Part-time: 0.4 FTE

You will lead and coordinate meetings, this will include scheduling, agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-ups. You will manage statutory filings and compliance processes with Companies House, Charity Commission, and other regulators. You will maintain accurate governance records, policies, and filing systems in line with GDPR and audit requirements. You will support onboarding, training, and governance advice for Trustees, Directors, and Council members. You will oversee and improve governance frameworks, ensuring consistent templates, systems, and best practice. You will provide support with health and safety governance, risk registers, and insurance renewals in collaboration with internal teams. You will play a key role in coordinating governance reviews, policy updates, and supporting continuous improvement across governance and compliance functions.
 
You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience. You will have a governance, legal, company secretarial, or compliance-related qualification (e.g. ICSA/CGI). You will have relevant knowledge of company and/or charity law, GDPR, and ESG reporting.
 
You will have proven experience supporting Boards and Committees, in either the commercial or not for profit sectors. You will have a strong understanding of governance and statutory compliance requirements (Companies House and Charity Commission).
 
You will have experience of coordinating board papers, preparing agendas, and minute-taking. You will have the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion. You will have experience liaising with auditors, brokers, and external stakeholders including Board members, directors and trustees. You will have some experience supporting policy development and governance training initiatives. You will also have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
 
Desirably, you will be proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM database, and document management.

The Service Manager will be responsible for the operations of one service in Berkshire (Slough) which supports one individual to live in his own home.

The individual is a sociable and engaging man with a warm sense of humour and a deep appreciation for nature, music, and familiar company. He lives with a diagnosis of moderate learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, psychotic illness, epilepsy, and type 2 diabetes, all of which require thoughtful and consistent support. The customer has been living successfully in his current placement for over ten years, where he benefits from the continuity of staff who know him well, understand his routines, and help him maintain a sense of safety and autonomy.

The role will provide line management for a team of seven Specialist Behaviour Support Workers, ensuring that compliance with organisational, legal regulations and those of the local authority are adhered to and the quality of support is of the highest standard possible, ensuring excellent quality of life for the customer and a good working environment for colleagues.

The service has received a CQC rating of Good. The current team size includes 5 FTEs (Specialist Behaviour Support Workers) plus 2 FTEs Waking Night Support Workers, ensuring comprehensive support coverage across all shifts.

The working pattern for this role is primarily Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional requirements for weekend and out-of-hours work to meet service needs.

We are looking for a Programmes & Hubs Manager to lead the launch and development of our new regional hubs and our programmes designed to reduce the gap in employability within LGBTQIA+ young adults. This is a pivotal role in bringing to life our operational strategy for 2026–2030.

You will have a high degree of autonomy, and a varied and interesting workload, as well as the opportunity to interact with and meet inspiring activists and educators.  Because of the annual cycle of the conference, you will ideally be able to flex your working hours across the year, with the opportunity for a four week break after the conference.

Background

Workplace Justice is the organisational home of the annual New Organising Conference, now in its third year, with support from the Network for Social Change The New Organising Conference, held over a weekend, is unique in bringing together a diverse group of participants - trade unions established and new, community organisers, not for profits, academics, lawyers and journalists, with a shared interest in worker rights and community organising. Participants learn, get inspiration and form new collaborations. In September 2025, 60 people delivered 44 different sessions to an audience of 130 people. It offers the opportunity to support an important social justice initiative which has received hugely positive feedback from participants. You will have a high degree of autonomy, and a varied and interesting workload, as well as the opportunity to interact with and meet inspiring activists and educators.  Because of the annual cycle of the conference you will ideally be able to flex your working hours across the year, with the opportunity for a four week break after the conference. You are unlikely to be able to take more than one week’s holiday during July and August.

Summary job description

To provide operational support for Workplace Justice and the New Organising Conference, focussing on marketing and communications including social media but with responsibility in addition for finance, the participant database and governance.

The role offers 5 weeks paid holiday. PAYE or self-employed status for discussion.

Key tasks

• Raising the profile of NOC and attracting participants and session leaders through social media, email communications and networking

• Responsibility for ensuring the website evolves in line with the needs of the Conference

• Maintaining and operating a database of participants, past and present

• Managing the registration of participants to the conference including taking payment and where necessary issuing invoices, and recruiting volunteers to assist at the conference

• Supporting the Board led process to select sessions and plan the programme

• Attending the conference and trouble shooting as necessary

• Operating a simple finance system

• Support as needed for initiatives arising from the NOC

• Any other support tasks that may be required

Person specification

Essential

• At least three years experience in a similar role

• Contacts in and understanding of the trade union movement, UK or international

• Proven track record of using outreach on social media to achieve results

• Experience of working independently

• Close attention to detail in data handling

• Persuasive and constructive manner in dealing with other people

• Familiarity with website editors e.g Squarespace

• Experience of basic financial management

• Experience of using the Action Network system

• Experience of event management

• Ability to accommodate peaks and troughs in workflow

• Experience of using graphic design software e.g. Canva, Adobe

The Role

The TCEN Communications and Commonwealth Campaign Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping The Commonwealth Equality Network’s advocacy and communications agenda over the next five years. The postholder will shepherd the development of the Network’s five-year advocacy strategy, ensuring it is participatory, evidence-based, and reflective of member priorities.

They will also be responsible for supporting development and delivery of a coherent campaign and communications strategy for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026 — ensuring that member’s voices are heard, and their impact amplified.
