ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an enthusiastic Careers Adviser to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Careers Team. In this key position, you will work at our Harris Lower Academy Wilsden in Brent Borough, supporting students to make informed, ambitious and aspirational decisions about their futures.

You will be joining an experienced and knowledgeable team of advisers, from whom you can gain advice and support. Working closely with your colleagues, you will help shape and deliver a high-impact CEIAG programme.

Whether it’s further education, apprenticeships, traineeships or employment, you’ll play a vital role in guiding students towards the post-16 and post-18 pathways that best match their goals and aspirations. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative environment, where ideas are freely shared, good practice is celebrated, and guidance is always at hand.

Your contribution will be central to raising aspirations, inspiring ambition, and ensuring that every student, regardless of background or ability, is fully aware of the range of opportunities open to them. Together, we strive to deliver a high-quality, inclusive CEIAG programme from Year 7 to Year 13, empowering all students to achieve their full potential.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

As part of this role, you will:

• Collaborate with Careers Leads across academies to design and implement a high-impact careers education programme aligned with the latest statutory guidance, including the enhanced Gatsby Benchmarks and each academy’s improvement priorities
• Plan and deliver engaging careers assemblies that expand students’ awareness of post-16 and post-18 pathways, alongside other relevant career-related topics
• Provide impartial, tailored career guidance through one-to-one meetings and group sessions that empower students to make informed, realistic and adaptable decisions about their futures
• Accurately record all guidance interactions and agreed actions on Unifrog, ensuring student data is kept up to date and accessible
• Offer targeted support to students navigating post-16 and post-18 transitions, including referrals to specialist services for those with additional needs, such as SEND
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, networks, and partners to enrich the careers and higher education offer and maximise student outcomes
• Track, monitor and report on student aspirations to inform strategic planning and targeted interventions
• Engage parents and carers in the careers guidance process, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s journey, including attendance at parents’ evenings
• Facilitate meaningful employer encounters that inspire students and broaden their understanding of the world of work
• Attend key events such as results days and enrolment days to provide on-the-spot careers support and guidance
• Support colleagues across the team by sharing best practice, offering shadowing opportunities and contributing to a collaborative learning culture
• Actively contribute to Careers Adviser team meetings by sharing insights, experiences or resources that enhance practice and support team development
• Provide careers-related evidence and representation during Ofsted inspections, showcasing the strength and impact of the careers provision

About the role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join and work in a multidisciplinary team alongside a Physiotherapist and Speech and Language Therapist, family support and specialist workers, and the families/carers of the children.

• Qualified Occupational Therapist

• Relevant experience in the assessment and treatment of children with a physical disability

ROLE OVERVIEW

The role is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across the organisation covering recruitment, onboarding, training, and support for performance management and employee relations.  It includes managing volunteer processes and working closely with both internal managers and external HR and training providers.

The postholder will play a key role in maintaining effective HR systems, ensuring policy compliance and supporting a positive work culture.

Key responsibilities

· Managing end-to-end recruitment processes across multi-disciplinary teams, including: recruitment, onboarding, DBS checking, training and development, absence and performance management, and leaver processing

· Oversight of SCT’s volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training and administration in collaboration with SCT’s manager

· Working closely with SCT’s outsourced HR support

· Providing SCT managers with guidance on volunteer recruitment and any management issues

· Implementing, maintaining and reviewing an annual training plan for all employees

· Maintaining up-to-date staff files and HR system records including DBS validation, handling confidential employee and volunteer data in line with data protection legislation

· Supporting employee relations by assisting with complaints, grievances and disciplinary procedures including the provision of support to managers on all employee-relations matters

· Working with SCT’s Business Operations Manager to ensure accurate information is provided to SCT’s outsourced payroll administrators to ensure accuracy of all relevant information

· Supporting the ongoing review, development and improvement of clear, consistent and accessible policies and procedures across the organisation

· Working closely with SCT’s managers to promote the ongoing communication, implementation and participation in the review cycle of policies and procedures

· Undertaking other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

· CIPD-qualified to level 5: significant HR management experience will also be considered

· 3+years demonstrable generalist HR management experience or similar role types – ideally in a small organisation or NFP

· Demonstrable experience of working across multiple sites

· Excellent communication skills both written and in person with the ability to adapt to a range of audiences

· Experience of presenting materials and report-writing to a range of audiences.

What’s the job?

This maternity cover role will have a significant and stabilising impact, ensuring co-ordination in governance, HR, and compliance for the Union of Brunel Students. The postholder will act as a key operational anchor, supporting legal integrity, staff wellbeing, and organisational continuity.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive individual to step into a vital fixed-term position during the maternity leave of our Head of People and Compliance. This role ensures continuity and excellence across governance, HR coordination and legal compliance.

You will work closely with the Trustee Board, Senior Leadership Team, and Union staff to uphold high standards in documentation, policy, and people management.

From servicing board meetings to managing recruitment and GDPR processes, your work will be central to our success, promote a positive workplace culture and supporting the Union’s mission to be a trusted and effective organisation for students, staff, and trustees.

Abianda is a London-based charity that works with young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation and violence, and the professionals who support them. We exist to ensure young women are no longer hidden in our communities and can live free from harm and abuse. We aim to bring about a culture shift in how services are delivered to young women and girls, so that they can access support that works for them when they need it.

This entry-level role is open to 18-25-year-old young women* who have been affected by criminal exploitation and violence. These experiences could be direct or indirect through relationships or areas and places lived or spent time in. You may also be a young woman who has had experience with statutory systems such as criminal justice, policing, social services or the care system where some of your experiences may be related to what is typically known as ‘criminal exploitation and violence’.

Do you have a heart for those least likely to hear the gospel - and a gift for connecting with them? 

Could you come alongside local churches to engage, envision and equip them to reach more Londoners with the life-changing news of Jesus? 

At London City Mission, we estimate that one in two Londoners, that’s roughly 4.5 million people, are unlikely to hear the gospel in their lifetime. For many of these people, their everyday experience will be one of rejection or helplessness and their cultural and religious background may mean they are least likely to hear the gospel. It’s clear throughout the Bible that God has a heart for people who are marginalised and overlooked. And tragically, it’s often in London’s most deprived communities that people are least likely to hear the invitation to repentance and eternal hope in Jesus. 

At London City Mission, we are partnering with churches who have a growing passion for reaching out to the communities around them, but who need equipping and building up for this crucial work. Our aim over the next five years is to see 150 new missional teams established in churches across London. These missional teams are groups of church members who take responsibility for a ministry to a community who may not otherwise hear about Jesus, are affirmed and publicly supported by the church leadership, pray for each other and for the people they want to invite to follow Christ, using their different gifts regularly to reach people who are part of this community. We pray that, together by 2029, these teams will be part of 25,000 gospel conversations within communities where Jesus Christ isn't known. The Missionary role is, therefore, a Church mobilisation role.

We are seeking candidates for a Missionary role who have a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus with specific groups of Londoners, and who can also come alongside churches to train and inspire Christian believers to reach their local communities with the hope of the gospel.

The successful candidate will minister in – but not restricted to - the following location:  

• Tower Hamlets and Hackney team with a specialist focus on Council Estates and Seniors 

The successful applicant will have experience of outreach amongst the neediest groups in our society but will also understand the church landscape in London and be able to inspire those in London churches to get involved in outreach. They will work in missional teams to equip church volunteers for outreach where the most need is in their communities, drawing upon their particular experience when required. They will also need to be able to raise ministry personal support, including a target financial support as well as prayer supporters for the work of the Mission through personal and church partnership networks.

We will help train, develop and support you in your role through our professional and established Training team and your line manager and other colleagues. Our heart is to help you be the best that you can be in your role and to help you develop further in your missional and evangelism skills.

This position is a full-time, permanent appointment. Starting salary is £22,045 per annum plus £1,200 per month housing allowance (taxable). Mission housing will be discussed with successful candidates after probation. We also provide a generous employer contribution to a group pension scheme. Targets for personal financial support will be £9,500 for the year 2025. 

There is an occupational requirement that the persons appointed be an evangelical Christian. Occupational Requirement provision of the Equality Act 2010 applies. The appointed candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

ABOUT TRAIN

TRAIN is a youth work charity based in South Oxfordshire. We support young people aged 10 to 18 in Didcot, Wallingford and the surrounding areas, especially those who are under-served.

Young people in our communities are facing complex challenges. Mental health struggles, pressures at school, family instability and the impact of poverty can leave them feeling isolated or overlooked. Too often, they don’t have access to the right support at the right time. TRAIN exists to change that. ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a key support role in a small, values-driven charity. While most people know TRAIN for its youth work, the smooth running of our organisation depends on good systems, clear admin and reliable behind-the-scenes support. That’s what this role is about.

As Charity Support Officer, you’ll take care of the day-to-day admin that keeps us organised, while also supporting projects and events that help TRAIN grow. Some responsibilities are regular — such as finance processing, HR and volunteer onboarding, responding to enquiries and keeping records accurate. Others will vary week to week, from preparing a funder report to liaising with contractors on a website update or helping coordinate the Didcot Youth Festival.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and comfortable juggling different tasks. You won’t be expected to lead major projects or make big decisions, but you will be the first port of call for the small, steady tasks that make a big difference. If you enjoy variety, value attention to detail, and want to play a part in supporting life-changing youth work, this role could be a good fit.

This is a part-time role of 15 hours per week, which can be worked flexibly. The role is based in Didcot or Wallingford with hybrid working. We expect at least some office time each week, but for exceptional candidates, we will consider a fully remote arrangement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Core (day-to-day focus)

• Communications and enquiries – be the first point of contact for general enquiries via email and social media, ensuring timely and professional responses.
• Project coordination and events – Coordinate various ad hoc projects (e.g. website refresh, new systems) and provide support for events such as the Didcot Youth Festival.
• HR and volunteer support – coordinate onboarding for staff and volunteers, including references, DBS checks and inductions.
• Office and building liaison – help keep the Didcot youth centre running smoothly by liaising with the landlord/service manager and handling facilities needs.
• Team support – provide admin support across the CEO, staff and trustees, including scheduling, minute-taking and document preparation.

Important (regular, but secondary to the above)

• Finance administration – support the CEO and our bookkeeper with tasks such as processing invoices, expenses, payments and payroll information.
• Data and monitoring – keep records up to date (attendance, impact data, safeguarding logs) for accurate reporting.
• Comms basics – work with the Fundraising and Communications Coordinator to update the website, draft newsletters and prepare supporter updates.
• Database and records – maintain supporter, volunteer and young people’s contact details.
• Policies and procedures – keep master copies organised and flag review dates.
• Health & safety admin – support with risk assessments, building checks and first aid supplies.

Occasional (as needed)

• Fundraising support – assist with funder reports, donor thank-yous and admin for community events.
• Safeguarding admin – support the Designated Safeguarding Lead with record-keeping and DBS renewals (admin only).
• Governance support – assist with trustee papers, annual returns and filings.
• Supplies and logistics – order office supplies, consumables and manage petty cash/card reconciliation.
• IT and systems – liaise with IT suppliers on logins, backups or new staff accounts.
• Insurance/licensing renewals – track renewal dates and ensure processes are followed.

Essential qualities

• Organised and detail-focused, able to keep systems and records tidy.

This role will be responsible for an effective and compliant operations function (finance, HR, programmes/projects, governance). You will help the charity to scale its operations sustainably and ensure the charity complies with its legal and governance responsibilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance and HR

• Liaise with outsourced bookkeepers (also payroll providers) to ensure timely/accurate information flow.
• Oversee income and expenditure budgets and performance, processing of donations and scheduled payments, and ensuring accurate and consistent coding.
• Work with accountants to support year-end accounts and coordinate annual report production.
• Produce and circulate monthly management accounts and other reports for the Board.
• Support Trustees with designated responsibilities e.g. finance, risk, governance.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and HR record-keeping (including freelancers).
• Maintain accurate, compliant data in our CRM (Donorfy), including prompt input of donations.

Charitable projects

• Support the planning and coordination of secured charitable projects, liaising with project partners, monitoring delivery milestones, payment schedule and working with the wider team to maximise success.
• Compiling project monitoring/evaluation data from project partners to support excellent impact reporting.

Governance and operations

Together with the volunteer Charity Secretary:

• Coordination of Board meetings and AGMs, agendas, papers and minutes.
• Maintain central registers (trustee attendance/terms, governance documents, policies, risk, safeguarding training etc).
• Fulfil statutory and regulatory responsibilities, including filing of annual accounts.
• Advise trustees on governance best practice, in line with Charity Commission guidance.
• Management of policies, procedures and operational systems (including the CRM) that strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
• Prepare Quarterly reports for the Board, and upon request.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and the Fundraising Code of Practice, including delivering the responsibility of data protection lead.
• Maintain relationships with volunteer Independent Advisors and commissioned service providers e.g. finance, HR and legal to ensure compliance/best practice.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Policy Advocate - Forestry and Land Use (Scotland) to help us increase the Trust’s influence through policy and advocacy work.

The Role: 
•    This role is key to helping us target the forestry, farming and land use policy issues at the Scottish Government and statutory agency level.
