We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose:

This role will be based in both HMP Bronzefield and in our community-based hubs in South London, delivering specialist housing support with women impacted by the criminal justice system in prison and the community.

Key responsibility areas

1. To deliver an effective accommodation intervention for women impacted by the criminal justice system.
2. To develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as housing departments, probation, prison, to ensure a collaborative approach to women’s accommodation needs.
3. To provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including upskilling through information and training sessions.
4. To work with colleagues to take a system change approach to tackling key issues, such as housing, for women affected by the criminal justice system.

About the role

As a Senior Team HCA, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality, patient-centred hospice care. You’ll provide holistic, evidence-based support to individuals with life-limiting illnesses, ensuring patients and families receive both emotional and practical care during life’s most vulnerable moments. Acting as a shift leader, you’ll guide and mentor Healthcare staff, allocating tasks, ensuring care plans are delivered, and inspiring your team to provide the very best standards of care.

This role is about more than daily care, you’ll actively contribute to service development, innovation and governance, supporting audits, policy reviews and improvement projects that shape the future of our services. You’ll play a vital role in staff development too, helping to train, nurture and retain a motivated, skilled workforce committed to delivering excellence.

To thrive, you’ll bring at least three years’ experience in a specialist care setting, ideally with two years leading end-of-life care. SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis as a result of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice (SLRA is regulated to provide advice at IAA Level 3) as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. Early Literacy Interventionist (North London)

• £16 per hour

• Working across two schools -  20 hours per week, over 5 days per week, so 4 hours per day

38% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children. 

This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.

You will conduct initial baseline assessments and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

This is a part-time role, based across two primary schools in North London. One school is Millbrook Park CE Primary School, NW7 1JF and the other is The Devonshire Hill Nursery and Primary School, N17 8LB. At Thrive, our Practitioners work with plants and people to improve an individual’s physical and psychological health, social interaction, skills and confidence.

We’re looking for a Specialist STH Practitioner to provide high quality and effective Social and Therapeutic Horticulture programmes for adults in our gardens in Battersea Park and outreach settings.

Working alongside volunteers, this role will support people with learning disabilities, autism, long term health conditions or disabilities. Delivering horticulture qualifications for client gardeners, such as tutor and assessor for the City & Guild Level 1 Practical Horticulture Skills.

Based at Thrive’s London Centre in Battersea Park. The role will involve some work undertaken off-site in London and occasional travel to the Thrive Centres in Reading and Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responding to information and literature requests promptly and accurately

• Handling sensitive correspondence, including condolence letters
• Co-ordinating the creation and delivery of memory, treasure, and teenage boxes
• Raising purchase orders and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and payment
• Processing service user feedback and supporting continuous improvement
• Keeping SharePoint documents and resources up to date
• Always working in line with our values, and policies around data protection and confidentiality

How are staff supported to work remotely?

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs). 

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.
