We are seeking two motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Managers to join our IT Transformation Team at Look Ahead. In this role, you will assist in the planning, execution, and completion of various projects including Finance systems and case management systems. You will work closely with the Head of IT Programme and cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level professional looking to grow their career in project management.
9am - 5pm work hours.
This is a fixed term contract of 12 months.
What you'll do:
Assist in the development of project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Coordinate and communicate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure project tasks are completed as scheduled.
Track project progress and prepare status reports for senior management.
Assist in managing resources to ensure projects remain within scope and financial constraints.
Schedule and participate in project meetings, taking detailed notes and ensuring follow-up on action items.
Support risk management efforts by identifying potential issues and helping to implement solutions.
Maintain project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and correspondence.
Assist in the development and implementation of project management processes and best practices.
Assist in budget management and reporting.
Help ensure quality control measures are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential:
Project management qualification or relevant experience e.g. Prince 2, Agile etc
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Trello, Asana, or MS Project).
A proactive, can-do attitude with a focus on detail and efficiency.
Desirable:
Eagerness to learn and grow in the project management field.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Previous work experience in project management.

About the role
Working under the direction and supervision of the Community and IPU Service Managers; you will work in collaboration with the District Nurses and Specialist Palliative Care Team, our HOME team of experienced HCAs and the MDT of Medics, Nurses and HCAs on IPU. You will deliver personal cares, emotional support and a calming presence to people at the end of their lives, in both the home of our community patients throughout North Yorkshire, and the IPU at either Crimple House, Harrogate or The Lambert, Thirsk.
This role is a hybrid position; therefore, you must be willing to work between the community and IPU when required.
Visits in the Community will be variable times and lengths each day. Shifts on IPU will include Earlies, Lates, Twilights and Night shifts.
Candidates are required to hold a full driving license and have access to their own vehicle to travel between patients’ homes in the community.

A few practical things:
- This role is hybrid, involving a mixture of working from home and from our Central London office.
- There will be some limited additional requirements to travel for meetings and occasional expectations to work outside of office hours, such as our annual in person Staff Conference and quarterly evening ‘get togethers’ online with volunteers.
- This role is the equivalent of 3 days per week, however we are flexible to accommodate the regular working hours that work for you, between 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.
- Giving our volunteers the best possible experience involves really understanding what they do- so you will be actively encouraged to get stuck in and ‘volunteer’ yourself within our programmes and alongside our volunteers.

Science communication sits at the heart of everything we do at CSC. In this role, you’ll continue to deliver inspiring STEM engagement first-hand at our venues, while also leading and developing our dynamic team of Science and Weekend Communicators.

Working Conditions
The primary locations for this role will be Cambridge Science Centre's Head Office at 44 Clifton Road, Cambridge, CB1 7ED (assigned desk or workspace) and the Cambridge Science Centre at Trinity Centre, Cambridge Science Park, CB4 0FN (hotdesking model).
Working one weekend every three weeks, depending on Centre capacity. CSC plans rotas at least 4 weeks in advance to avoid consecutive weekend commitment where possible to do so.
In addition, there will be frequent travel (primarily driving with a company or hire vehicle) to the semi-permanent centre (Inspire Wisbech Centre, Wisbech, PE13 1AR) and, on occasion a variety of locations across the East of England, including schools and community venues, which will include occasional overnight stays.
We offer the option of flexible hybrid working where and when possible, when not delivering sessions.

The Activate Fund:
For 60 years, the Churchill Fellowship has been supporting remarkable individuals to source solutions from around the world to tackle critical issues affecting communities in the UK. The Activate Fund is an extension of the Fellowship which provides further funding and support to Fellows on their return to the UK to turn their ideas into action and achieve real and lasting change.
Purpose of the role:
This is a new role which sits within the Fellowship team and will be responsible for the re-opening of the Activate Fund in June 2026, following completion of a successful pilot. The Head of Activate will lead on all aspects of the application and award cycle and on the development of additional forms of support to enhance Fellows’ impact on society. The role will be supported by the Activate Manager, work closely with the Salesforce and Engagement teams, and alongside colleagues managing the annual Fellowship selection process.
This is a new role which is being recruited with sufficient lead-in time for the Head of Activate to be inducted into the existing processes to deliver the first year of awards, with scope to introduce new ideas to enhance the Fund’s impact from Year 2.
Key responsibilities:
Delivery of Activate
- Lead on the re-introduction of the Activate Fund; responsible for ensuring that potential applicants and relevant stakeholders understand the purpose, scope and criteria of the Fund and that all systems and processes are in place for applications to open in June 2026.
- Lead on the selection process from pre-applicant support to application, assessment and award, supported by the Activate Manager, working closely with the Salesforce team and the Comms team, and ensuring the process is aligned with TCF’s EDI values and strategic priorities.
- Lead on the iterative improvement of application and award documentation, throughout the lifetime of the Fund, working closely with the Salesforce team to ensure that any process changes are agreed with sufficient planning time to be implemented ahead of the next cycle.
- Oversee and participate in the longlisting and shortlisting of applications to the Fund, alongside other Fellowship staff and external assessors, where required.
- Responsible for establishing and convening (an) award panel(s) for the Activate Fund and working with the Chief Executive and Engagement team to identify panel members, likely to be drawn from the Fellowship’s Board of Trustees, Advisory Council, expert working groups and/or previous Activate grantees.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate due diligence is conducted on applicants and where relevant, host organisations, to ensure that Activate grants are awarded in line with TCF’s charitable objectives and for a purpose that benefits individuals and communities in the UK.
- Attend and play a key role in the Activate selection interviews, including supporting Panel decision making according to agreed selection criteria, grant-setting and providing feedback to unsuccessful applicants.
- Oversee the award, payment and reporting of Activate grants, including the development of appropriate terms and conditions, and reporting requirements.
- Manage the Activate annual budget, ensuring that grants awarded are in line with the annual budgetary allocation for the Fund and report as required to the SLT.
- In collaboration with the Development team and Salesforce team, set up appropriate reporting mechanisms so that funding partners contributing to the Fund are informed of relevant Activate awards and updated on progress, as required.
Safeguarding and EDI
- Work with the Fellowship’s safeguarding lead and with the Fellowship Director to identify safeguarding risks and develop appropriate processes that are specific to the Activate Fund, for example where Fellows are working with children and adults at risk.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Fellowship’s approach to Fellows’ wellbeing, particularly when awarding grants to Fellows with lived experience of the issues they are addressing in their project.
- Work closely with the Fellowship’s EDI lead to ensure a proactive and consistent approach to EDI in the delivery of the Fund; in particular, that the Activate Fund’s selection processes are accessible to all Fellows eligible to apply, that EDI is core to the development of pre-application and non-financial support, and that the Fund’s messaging is inclusive and representative of the diversity of Churchill Fellows.
Enhancing Fellows’ capacity to achieve UK impact
- Building on learning from the Activate pilot, work closely with the Activate Manager to develop a support offer for Activate grantees that enhances their capacity to deliver their funded project and create change in their chosen sector or community; this could include 1:1 support such as mentoring and coaching and/or peer learning, convening and networking opportunities with the wider Fellowship community.
- Working closely with the Fellowship Director and Head of Fellowship, explore if there might be opportunities for scaling support which has been tried and tested with Activate grantees, to Fellows at different stages in their Fellowship journey.
- In collaboration with the Engagement team, support Fellows to develop relationships with individuals and organisations in relevant sectors that will amplify the impact of their Activate project and proactively explore opportunities for Knowledge Partners to contribute time, expertise and networking support to Activate grantees.
Evaluation and Learning
- Working closely with the Engagement Director, to develop an approach for evaluating how the Activate Fund enhances Fellows’ capacity to create change in the UK.
- Apply lessons learned from stakeholder feedback to improve the experience of Activate applicants and grantees through changes to the selection process, development of new forms of support and extension of networking opportunities with the wider Fellowship community.
- Working closely with the Fellowship Director to undertake a strategic review of the impact of the Fund from the end of Year 3.
- Keep up to date with new thinking and research around supporting and developing individuals and good practice in grant making, including developing relationships with relevant individuals and organisations.
Fellowship team
- Attend quarterly leadership meetings, where appropriate and, in particular, to contribute to thinking about TCF’s role in supporting Fellows to achieve change in the UK.
- Attend Fellow-led events as appropriate and utilise knowledge of Fellows’ activation of their Fellowship learning to contribute to the design and delivery of Fellowship events, such as Connect & Inspire, as required.

The role will involve providing impartial information, advice and support to parents of children and young people, and young people themselves, who have Special Educational Needs and/or a disability so they can make appropriate, informed decisions about their education - in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and relevant legislation.
You will obtain and process referrals and provide support and expertise at all points along the SEN journey for service users and their families. You will partner with a range of other organisations; local and national, voluntary and community and will variably act as advocate, mediator, facilitator and supporter in the best interests of the children, young people and parents within the service
Knowledge of local authority processes, national policies and legislation and relevant SEND issues will be essential to this role alongside organisational expertise and a real desire to engage with users in order to create and deliver a range of events and activities as part of the sider Supporting Families team.

Working closely with artists, creatives, community stakeholders and health colleagues, as Head of Arts & Wellbeing you will be leading on the design and delivery of projects and initiatives in the community with the aim to support young people’s mental health.

The Toy Appeal Campaign Assistant plays a vital role in helping to coordinate Family Action’s Christmas Toy Appeal campaign, liaising with companies, groups, our services and partner charities to ensure the timely delivery of over 10,000 toys and gifts to disadvantaged children and young people.
If you are an enthusiastic individual who works well under pressure and wants to make a significant difference to thousands of children over Christmas, then this role is for you! You will gain experience in being involved in a large project and work across multiple teams including fundraising and marketing.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Acting as a first point of contact for the Toy Appeal, responding to enquires from organisations wishing to take part in the appeal, as well as internal colleagues receiving gifts for service users.
2. Responding to all enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
3. Matching gift requests with pledges from donors and preparing information on gift requests.
4. Maintaining a live list of all requests for gifts from approx. 60 services and projects, and over 100 companies and community groups, updating as matches are made and requests are filled.
5. Building positive relationships with corporate donors through written and verbal communications, including email, telephone and occasionally meetings/visits where appropriate.
6. Co-ordinating deliveries of gifts from donors to projects, ensuring needs and requirements of both parties are met.
7. Accurately creating and maintaining donor and donation records on Family Action’s Salesforce based CRM system.
8. Assisting the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Fundraising Administrator with donation processing and administration.
9. Stewarding Toy Appeal fundraisers, encouraging the use of fundraising platforms such as JustGiving, providing fundraising materials and sharing the impact of their fundraising.
10. Researching to find suppliers for gifts that need to be purchased using donated funds.
11. Supporting the Marketing and Communications team by providing regular information and updates about the appeal.
12. To ensure you have an understanding (appropriate to your role) of, and comply with Family Action’s procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Looking to make a real difference to young care experienced people? We’re now recruiting two Housing Support Officers to be part of our Hummingbird Homes project, a unique new model helping young people transition from care to independent living.
At Handcrafted we work with a range of vulnerable people including care leavers. Their stories and experiences have helped us to recognise that there is a gap in provision from 16+, where transitioning into independent living is either an overly support intensive time or very isolating. We have created a new model of support for those transitioning from care to independent living, bridging a critical gap in services.
