Main purpose of the role

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, this post will lead on the development and delivery of Thrive’s community and public fundraising whilst working collaboratively with the rest of fundraising team to maximise and develop opportunities over various income streams.

 The post holder will work with our local centres to develop fundraising opportunities and offerings that are appealing to the local community.

The role will also focus on campaigns and projects which either bring in significant unrestricted income (e.g. The Big Give), or that help to step change Thrive’s ability to fundraise (e.g. Thrive’s supporter journey).

As part of the fundraising team the post holder will support and work collaboratively on key projects and activities related to tribute, corporate, individual and regular giving.

Remote, with regular travel to Central London for events and meetings 

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to lead on Media Trust’s 2024 calendar of fundraising and industry-facing events, including our upcoming 30th Birthday Fundraising Gala and support with other programme-related events.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise in delivering successful fundraising and other events, working across multiple projects, and finding new and innovative ways to engage corporate supporters in fundraising events and campaigns. 

You will be part of the Volunteering & Events Management team and will manage a range of in person and virtual events, from fundraising events to corporate partner cultivation drinks, industry roundtables and large-scale volunteering initiatives. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver impactful high-quality events and ensure that all our events deliver against set targets.

This role would suit someone with a good understanding and experience of the UK charity sector and a passion for equalities and inclusion. We are looking for a strong candidate to take Media Trust’s event activity and fundraising to the next level to enable us to support more charities and underrepresented talent and engage more media and creative industry professionals in our work. 

Key responsibilities  

Events Management 

• Manage end-to-end delivery of Media Trust events, campaigns and projects of varying size, format and complexity, both in person and virtually

• Lead on the development and running of Media Trust’s 30th Birthday celebratory events, including but not limited to our Fundraising Gala, ensuring the fundraising target is hit or exceeded 

• Support the Programmes team and Media Trust Films team on delivery of events when necessary, including, but not limited to, Charity Challenge Days and Film Screenings 

• Provide a high standard of support to key stakeholders throughout the planning, execution and evaluation of each event 

• Develop and implement consistent processes, procedures and documentation for all events across Media Trust, including event timelines, agendas, speaker and staff briefs 

• Develop fundraising and sponsorship proposals to fund core events across Media Trust  

• Manage event budgets ensuring they are run cost effectively

• Maximise the profitability (where appropriate), sustainability and quality of all events 

• Act as first point of contact for stakeholders including corporate partners, venues, caterers, speakers, attendees, Media Trust staff and Trustees 

• Research and suggest relevant key speakers and work with all Media Trust teams to finalise speakers for events

• Work closely with the Marketing team to develop communications to promote events and drive engagement 

• Monitor KPIs and evaluate the impact of events, providing reports and feedback summaries as required 

• Ensure all Media Trust events and fundraising activities are logged effectively and Media Trust’s CRM is kept up-to-date 

Corporate Partner Activity 

• Liaise with our Corporate Partners and lead on bespoke events organised as part of their partnership with Media Trust

• Work closely with the Partnerships team to develop and deliver volunteer opportunities, recruiting, briefing and training volunteers including presentations and pitches  

• Work with other members of the Volunteering & Events Management team to support with other volunteering activity including development of innovative events and opportunities

Additional Responsibilities  

• Continual research and ideation, monitoring industry trends for new and exciting fundraising and profile-raising opportunities and partnership collaborations

• Provide additional support to the Partnerships team as required

What we are looking for in you 

Essential 

• Experience of end-to-end event management, including the planning of fundraising events, and delivering high-impact results in a professional or charitable organisation

• Experience of organising both online and in person events

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage and prioritise across multiple events, work with multiple teams and meet deadlines 

• Experience of working with Corporate Partners and managing stakeholder relationships at both a strategic and project level 

• Outstanding communication skills and ability to adapt tone and approach for different stakeholders 

• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage external stakeholders and suppliers, paid and unpaid, ensuring high quality of work and events run smoothly

• Experience of data management and CRM systems with ability to support, inform and report on fundraising and other event activity 

• A passion for events and innovative approaches to engaging audiences 

Desirable 

• Experience of creating and developing proposals for event sponsorship and pitching to corporate partners and other stakeholders

• Experience of designing and managing event budgets

• Good understanding of the charity sector, including charity, GDPR and data protection laws 

• Understanding of the media, comms and creative sectors in the UK

Schoolreaders was launched ten years ago in Bedfordshire with the aim of recruiting volunteers to provide one-to-one reading support for children in primary schools across the country. Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and to their friends, families and carers. About the role:

As the Fundraising Executive you will work to grow income through developing our community engagement, attracting, building and managing relationships with a range of supporters (individual donors and fundraisers, community groups, local businesses, volunteers etc). You will lead on the stewardship of events and challenges, including our annual Step Up campaign, by supporting individuals and groups to raise funds through fundraising activities. Role overview To manage a range of community fundraisings projects and mid value fundraisers, provide excellent supporter experience to all, meeting agreed KPIs and objectives. Children with Cancer UK Children with Cancer UK is a leading children’s cancer charity dedicated to raising and investing funds into vital specialist research to save the lives of children with cancer. Our mission is to improve survival rates and the quality of survival in young cancer patients and to find ways to prevent cancer in the future. What began as a small memorial charity in 1988, has evolved into a major force raising more than £300 million and investing in over 200 research projects to help fight the injustice of cancer in children. The Community Fundraising Team The Community Fundraising Team at Children with Cancer UK raises just under one million pounds annually. Our community fundraisers take on their own fundraising activities or taking part in one of our fundraising products. The community fundraising team is part of the wider fundraising team which has a number of established fundraising events, individual giving campaigns, sports events and corporate supporters

About the Role

There are 1.4 million primary-aged children growing up in poverty in the UK, and we are currently only working with a fraction of them. We have grown rapidly over the last few years and are now looking to recruit a Fundraising Manager who can help take our fundraising work to the next level.

The Fundraising Manager will work with the team to drive Learning with Parents’ fundraising strategy. Their primary focus will be on strengthening our existing corporate partnerships pipeline, and managing new and existing corporate relationships. Building a pipeline of corporate partners

• Working closely with Learning with Parents’ CEO and COO, research, qualify and prioritise prospects to create a buoyant pipeline.

Stewarding new and existing funders

About You 

Experience within a similar role, or within the charity sector, would be great. However, we know that a lot of the most important skills in this role are transferable from jobs in other sectors, such as relationship development, account management and business development. We want the right person and we will invest in training the right candidate as necessary.

The Role:

Hospice UK has an exciting new fundraising strategy with a focus on digital fundraising and supporter journeys. We are looking to significantly increase our engagement with new and existing supporters across all areas of fundraising. The Digital Fundraising and Engagement Executive will be responsible for maximising income, supporter recruitment and retention through digital channels, for both individual giving and events.

Reporting into the Head of Events & Supporter Engagement and working very closely with the External Affairs team you will deliver a cohesive and impactful approach to digital fundraising and supporter journeys. The Digital Fundraising and Engagement Executive will lead on recruitment and stewardship for a number of third-party challenge events as well as supporting on the optimisation of integrated digital campaigns and donor journeys.

We are looking for:

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate a background in digital fundraising (1-2 years’ experience) and an understanding of supporter journeys and social media advertising. Some understanding of SEO would be desirable but you would not need to be an expert in this area.

The Events and Supporter Engagement team forms part of the wider Income Generation and Grants Directorate. The team’s focus is on raising funds from individuals through challenge and special events, digital fundraising, giving in memory, legacy giving, regular and payroll giving and one off donations.

The team is made up of 5 people (including this role), who work closely together to help achieve our goals. The wider Income Generation and Grants team consists of 20 people in total. We meet regularly through team meetings and coming together in the office on a Tuesday, which helps to create a supportive working environment.

About the opportunity

Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future.  The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
 

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the line-management and development of three Fundraising Coordinators, through which you and your team will prepare and submit grant applications and funding reports, alongside overseeing the development and growth of our individual giving activities and initiatives, including through expansion of our fundraising events and campaigns.

Duties and responsibilities

· Work with the CEO, Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships Manager to ensure Action Tutoring’s fundraising targets are met and manage an effective pipeline across Action Tutoring’s different income streams.

· Working with your Fundraising Coordinators, research and drive new opportunities for multi-year commitments from trusts and foundations, sharing workload between the team.
 

· Lead on the preparation and submission of high-quality, effective applications, with support from the Fundraising Coordinators. 
 

· Monitor when grants are due for renewal and proactively seek out renewal conversations, ensuring Action Tutoring has a healthy funding pipeline. 

· Work with the Fundraising Coordinator for Campaigns, Events and Individual Giving to build Action Tutoring’s income generated from events, ensuring an attractive range of event options across the country. Manage the Fundraising Coordinator to ensure places are secured, participants are supported and engagement is expanded.
 

· Work with  Fundraising Coordinator for Campaigns, Events and Individual Giving to build Action Tutoring’s income generated from individual giving, developing campaigns for driving more regular giving and building our strategies to cultivate, engage and thank individuals. 
 

· Act as a system manager for fundraising platforms, databases and tools including Just Giving and the Giving Block, with support from Fundraising Coordinators.
 

· Oversee the development of the fundraising area of the website and fundraising pack to attract new funders and fundraisers to the charity, with support from the Fundraising Coordinators.
 

· Manage the Fundraising Coordinators, ensuring they are growing and developing, and that work load is shared fairly. 
 

· Represent Action Tutoring at relevant meetings and events.
 

· Alongside your team, prepare applications for corporate funding opportunities identified by the Corporate Partnerships Team.
 

· Ensure accurate record-keeping of corporate partnerships and relationships on Salesforce and any other relevant systems.
 

· Any other ad hoc responsibilities as deemed relevant by the CEO.

Person specification

This role requires an ambitious, passionate and determined individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Alongside your team you will be responsible for writing and submitting grant applications and reports, so an excellent understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail are crucial for success within this position. Working to deadlines and line-managing three Fundraising Coordinators, exceptional time-management, prioritisation and organisation skills are essential. With a focus on developing our individual giving strategies, we’re looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills. 
 

Qualifications criteria:

· A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).
 

· Right to work in the UK.
 

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others: 
 

· At least two years experience in fundraising (preferably within trusts and foundations fundraising).
 

· Proven track record in securing and stewarding 5+ figure partnerships.
 

· Outstanding written and verbal communicator with significant experience writing and submitting grant applications and reports.
 

You will be likely be more successful in this role if you have:
 

· You have a proven track record of securing and stewarding grants of 5+ figure funding.
 

· You have a passion for educational inequality/working within the Third Sector.
 

· Line management experience.
 

· Experience in event and campaign fundraising.

We are seeking an experienced fundraising Manager, with the drive and determination to manage all aspects of our fundraising function.  STADA has multiple fundraising streams.  You will be responsible for oversight and growth of voluntary and statutory funding income, trusts and foundations, corporates, the statutory sector (including government bodies) Starting from a strong foundation with multiple opportunities for growth, you will lead on the delivery of our ambitious, multi-year, multi-disciplinary fundraising strategy with an annual fundraising plan agreed with our Executive Leadership Team.  This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead fundraising activities.  The fundraising Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing an innovative fundraising strategy (in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team) which aligns with our organisational goals and values. Previous experience essential and proven experience is required.

Rowan Alba works to end homelessness in Edinburgh by providing permanent supported homes and building relationships with individuals in crisis. We also work in our communities with volunteers who provide vital support to the most vulnerable in an attempt to prevent homelessness. Purpose of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer role:   

As Senior Community Fundraising Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing all income generation via community fundraising.
