About Us
The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.
The role
This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.
About You
You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Finally, you are self-motivated and energetic, as well as passionate about making sure disadvantaged groups across West London get the opportunity to improve their highly challenging lives.

Rays of Sunshine exits to brighten the lives of seriously ill children aged three to 18 across the UK by granting magical wishes and providing ongoing support within the community. Our work creates a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem and creates precious memories and smiles.
You will be joining a small but passionate team, full of positivity, energy and drive to succeed and we need someone who will be a part of our success, helping to achieve our new vision for the charity to ensure we can creating lasting memories for all children and young people with a life limiting illness.
In this role you will be responsible for working across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts and foundations, with a prominent focus on supporting with account management of existing partnerships and developing our pipeline of prospects. The charity has a history of success in these areas and we would love to have someone join the team to build upon this success.
Ideally the candidate would have existing experience in corporate partnerships, but we are open to candidates with experience in one or more of the fundraising disciplines mentioned above, with a willingness to develop their skills and experience, through a supportive, coaching and a mentoring leadership style.
Key Responsibilities
Partnerships
- Support with creating proposals and pitches to secure Brand, Corporate and Commercial Partnerships, with a strong focus on shared purpose and mutual benefit, to create successful long term strategic partnerships.
- Support with relationship management of current partners of Rays of Sunshine, ensuring they have materials to aid their fundraising.
- To manage the input of corporate partnership data on the CRM system (currently Donorfy).
- Manage the updates to the corporate pipeline master document, ensuring appropriate actions are met within deadline.
- Supporting the Corporate Volunteer Researcher to undertake the necessary research to support our pipeline of approaches.
Philanthropy
- Creating supporter updates and reports to demonstrate the impact of funding received from our Patrons and Major Donors, providing excellent stewardship to existing donors.
- Provide support with the event planning of major donor events, and attend in person to provide support of events on the day.
Trusts and Foundations
- Support with research and the successful completion applications to secure donations from a pipeline of identified Trusts and Foundations
Stewardship
- Identifying new opportunities to create wow moments for donors and provide excellent stewardship of all major donors and partnerships.
General
- General administrative duties, including record meeting notes and actions, following up with partners, sending out of promotional materials, monitoring and responding to email enquiries, and taking telephones calls.
- Any other duties to support the success of the fundraising team.

Chief Executive – full-time, permanent, London (flexible/hybrid)
The Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST) is seeking a new Chief Executive to lead the organisation through the next phase of its growth and development. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and energetic senior player to lead a small executive team, along with many highly dedicated and capable Institute members, as we embark on a number of key development projects which will continue to grow our charitable activities and influence in the food sector. The role is a key point of contact and ambassador for the Institute with many senior and influential stakeholders within the food sector and governments.
We are looking for a strong strategic and conceptual thinker, experienced in business and financial management, who can communicate with and influence people at all levels. The role leads a small team and will have significant hands-on involvement in day to day operational matters.
The individual will have attained a BSc or equivalent level, and have demonstrable experience in leadership and people management. They will have a broad understanding of the food (or associated) sector (and preferably experience working in the sector). Ideally, the individual will already have experience managing or running a charity, and so will have a practical understanding of charity governance best practice.
With multiple activities from publishing through to professional recognition and from scientific and technical events and communication through to supporting the next generation of talent, the Institute is looking for a leader who can work creatively and yet in a focussed way to ensure all these activities are progressed.
Ideally, they will have previously worked for a professional membership body and are likely to have experience in the food sector.

For this role we are looking for a confident and resilient community organiser who can build strong relationships to support communities to create change locally.
What you’ll be doing:
The Communities Coordinator will support community groups to campaign for clean rivers at a local level. By facilitating grass roots action you’ll be galvanising a strong and powerful network of community activists that have the power to create change both locally and nationally. You’ll be responsible for taking River Action’s national campaign strategy to a local level. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and the wider team to develop a Community Toolkit (including advice for activists, and guidance and services for communications, fundraising, legal support and citizen science projects) to support communities as well as provide strategic support to empower community activists to campaign for clean rivers. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and wider team to amplify the stories of those taking action at a local level and connect campaign groups to the wider national agenda. You’ll be working collaboratively with the River Action team to devise, develop and deliver our strategy ensuring our programme of community engagement is equitable, diverse and inclusive. You’ll be working closely with other organisations to ensure our community support compliments the work of others and meets the needs of community groups we work with.
Main Duties

Contribute to the development and implementation of River Action’s campaign strategy.

Develop River Action’s Community Toolkit as a package of support for local campaign groups.

Identify community groups within river catchments areas River Action is working and build positive and impactful relationships..

Organise site visits to develop good relationships and in-depth understanding of local issues impacting river health.

Convene and align local stakeholders around river catchment and regional campaigns.

Facilitate local community groups’ campaigns and provide support in line with our toolkit’s support package.

Facilitate the creation of community group citizen science projects, integrated within a national system for gathering and sharing evidence of pollution.

Organise community crowdfunding for citizen science and communications.

Plan and host webinars, training sessions and online and in person events.

Develop good working relationships with regulators including Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and Scottish Environment and Protection Agency.

Support the CEO and Campaigns Manager to identify and deliver legal challenges at a local level.

Maintain and develop partnerships and working relationships with other key groups and stakeholders working in similar areas of work to River Action.

Identify opportunities to engage, empower and expand River Action’s network of supporters.

Support the Communications Coordinator to create inspiring and engaging digital media content and news stories, including taking photographs and videos and conducting interviews.

Support the Campaigns Manager and Communication Coordinator in responding to the reactive news agenda.

Contribute to the Monitoring and Evaluation system for demonstrating impact of River Action’s community engagement work, reporting against KPIs.

Contribute to fundraising efforts particularly crowdfunding and drafting of funding proposals to support Campaigns and Fundraising Teams and the charity’s mission.

What the job involves
We’re looking an Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our high performing Events and Community Team. The team are driven to maximise opportunities, we aim to reach ambitious targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.
Our team raise funds through a range of activities including:
- Our own events (e.g. March for Men)
- Virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)
- Third party events (e.g. London Marathon)
- Golf Days
- Helping community fundraisers who organise their own activity
You’ll be supporting our third-party events programme and be our first point of contact for our fundraisers. You'll provide admin support for our registration processes and support fundraisers through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience.
Whilst third party events will be your primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also get the chance to work across teams to provide support where needed during busy periods of activity.
This role works with data through maintaining our Raiser’s Edge database. You'll also update records on JustGiving and Enthuse. This requires accuracy and working under the requirements of GDPR.
You’ll also work with our Communications teams supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising products, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

You’ll have the drive and eagerness to provide crucial support to our sector-leading programme of activity which generated £12.9M of income in 2023-24. Pratham is one of the largest and most respected education charities in India. We developed a model that can teach a child to read and do basic maths in as little as 30 days for £14. We also have preschool, vocational and women's education programmes.
We have strong support from the UK Indian diaspora and are in a period of significant growth that has seen us triple in size in three years; we now raise £1.5m a year and have an ambition to at least triple again. Our flagship fundraising event is our annual Gala; we will return to Raffles at the Old War Office this year on 8th November. The gala sponsorship pack is included with the job pack below. The evening consistently raises over £500k; this year, you will support the delivery of the Gala, but next year, you will lead it along with a calendar of cultivation and stewardship events that will help us grow partnerships with major donors, corporates and foundations.
While you will work in a small, fully remote team day to day, you will be part of the global Pratham network. The team in India has over 6,000 staff, and they raise $28m locally. Pratham USA has 14 chapters and produces around 12 galas a year, which contributes to its $30m income; you can share the films and branding of their galas, meaning we can really stretch our budget to put on an outstanding event.
We are a small team, and whilst an events person is vital for our development if someone wanted to get involved in other fundraising streams, particularly corporate or major donors, we would be delighted to read about it in your application and discuss it at the interview or in a call before the interview—which are welcomed.
All current staff have visited India to see the programmes, and whilst we can't guarantee you a visit as we grow, it remains an ambition. We can offer a level of flexibility on hours, we'd consider someone four days a week, but flexibility and some extra (paid) days might be required around the gala time. In this busy and exciting supporter-facing role, you’ll provide stewardship to our brilliant fundraisers organising events from bake sales and balls to tractor runs and sponsored walks. About the role
You will support fundraisers across the schools audience, providing them with a remarkable experience and keep them coming back to the charity.

The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.
Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.
You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.

This role is about;
• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);

Role and Responsibilities
New Position: Due to the increase in REB memberships and activities, a new full-time events role is being created to support the executive team.
Key Tasks – support the MD in creating and delivering a member engagement and events programme
1. Conception and collaboration of member events, through to completion
2. Promoting events to members, working alongside REB’s external PR/Communications agency
3. Managing event registrations and guest lists
4. Responsible for line managing the events administrator

SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives.
Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.
Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. You’ll know how to follow processes to record, monitor and evaluate supporters’ engagement with community fundraising activities, so this feeds back into how the charity operates.
Much of the charity’s income comes from our motivated and passionate supporters, so this role is a key part of income generation.
