The LTA Tennis Foundation, the LTA's official charity, is in the exciting, early stages of their fundraising journey and we are looking to recruit our first Philanthropy Manager, to support the Fundraising Lead in delivering our plan, taking a particular lead on managing our relationships with High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs).

We are fortunate to have an impressive, and growing, portfolio of prospective major donors and this role will be responsible for further prospecting, the cultivation of gifts, and stewarding of HNWIs – ensuring we build high impact relationships that help us to achieve our ambitious financial targets. While major donors will be your focus, as a small team, you will also play an important role in supporting the Fundraising Lead with a significant programme of wider activity within our fundraising plan.

We are looking for a highly motivated and results driven fundraiser, with demonstrable experience in securing major gifts from individuals, exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for the power that sport can play in improving lives. 

Although the Philanthropy Manager will be employed by the LTA, which brings the opportunity to utilise the significant infrastructure and resources of a large organisation, your work will be dedicated to the LTA Tennis Foundation.

Essential skills and experience:

We are looking for a very confident, outgoing go-getter who loves using their gregarious personality to influence and enthuse people to get results but also enjoys being organised with strong admin processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has been involved in influencing organisations, businesses and groups or individuals to organise range of fundraising events, such as gaming, auctions, quizzes, gigs. You will be a part of a small but dynamic marketing and fundraising team and working with an Events and Engagement Officer.

This is a critical role for generating essential funds for the charity. You will love a challenge and be goal orientated. It is a varied role, and you will be someone who loves to multitask; you may be emailing supporters or potential fundraisers, making action plans, promoting, contacting organisations, or attending and speaking at events. You will thrive in this role if you love being organised and doing admin, but love being “out and about” interacting, influencing and motivating people to fundraise for us. Please note that you will need to carry, load up and set-up event materials from our office to events, often on your own. It is essential you have access to transport and must have a full, clean driving licence. We are a very small team, so you will need to have the confidence and willingness to meet with organisations and attend events on your own.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Support and steward existing fundraisers and supporters, helping them maximise their impact by generating income/ donations through organising their own events 

• Create inspiring digital content and resources to empower and guide fundraisers and donors throughout their journey 

• Develop our fundraising hub to provide resources and information and encouragement to help participants 

• Represent Grassroots Suicide Prevention at events, delivering talks and building awareness to attract new donors, supporters and sign-ups to our challenge events 

• With support of our marketing team, create compelling content for multiple channels, including our website, blog, case studies, social media, and press releases, tailored to diverse audiences 

• Assist with multiple administrative tasks, such as inputting data into our CRM, check fundraising activities by participants on Just Giving and other activities ensure fundraising targets are being met and the smooth running and of our fundraising team and events 

• Be in commutable distance of Brighton, so you can come into the head office when required to send out merchandise, collect marketing collateral (including banners, posters, leaflets) to take to events. 

To be successful in this role, you must be responsive, extremely organised, have attention to detail, be able to meet deadlines, and passionate about seeing growth and progress in your work. You will be determind to exceed your KPIs such as recruitment of fundraisers who will reach their income targets.  You will be a dynamic, socially confident person, who excels at winning hearts and minds and thrives on tangible results.

About You

This year, we’ve embarked on introducing a bold, exciting new operating model and structure to improve our services and support to help everyone affected by MS.

We’re making it easier for people who use our services to find and connect to the support they need. And we're looking at ways to make our support more accessible and personalised to meet people’s individual needs, no matter where they are on their MS journey.

We’re creating services that are flexible so that, when someone's circumstance changes, we’ll change too. As demand for our services grows, we’ll always be ready to support everyone who needs our help. 

Our new structure and our new ways of working will bring all of these services together under one delivery model launching next year. We're creating a new virtual support hub to bring together everything our community needs to manage their MS or support and care for someone living with MS.

Our Head of Community Services is a key leadership role in our Services and Support directorate, as part of our Services Delivery function.

Our Community Services delivery team includes our Community Support/ Resources services. 

Our Head of Community Services will be:

• leading on the delivery and continuous improvement of our Community based services, developing a high-performing and motivated culture within teams.
• providing clear leadership to ensure our community services and support are high quality, impactful and respond directly to the needs of the MS community
• responsible for our community services in our Live Well activity group and drive a one model approach across all of our services and support.
• responsible for the growth in the reach of our community services, ensuring that we increasingly represent the diversity of the entire MS community and decisions are driven by local need.

We’re looking for:

• experience in the delivery of community based services and support, including volunteer led services, events and services delivered by third parties. Including experience in quality assurance, development and meeting key performance indicators and ensuring community input and satisfaction.
• experience and excellent working knowledge of volunteering and volunteer management and leadership  
• substantial experience of successfully leading and managing a large and geographically dispersed team of staff and volunteers, embedding change and fostering a high performing culture.
• substantial experience of working in a senior leadership team determining strategic direction, financial planning and monitoring and ensuring successful delivery.

About This Job

As Fundraising Assistant at sister charities, ACCT UK and CCFA, you will play a key role in the growth of existing fundraising and in the creation of new income streams. Stewarding fundraisers, helping to develop new and existing fundraising campaigns, building relationships internally within the cadet organisations and externally with Trusts and Foundations, corporates and major givers. You will provide administrative and operational support, including maintaining the fundraising database. Working closely with the rest of the Development team and in particular the Marketing department to ensure that both charities can provide increasing financial support to cadets and adult volunteers across the UK.

The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools.
